আর তখন কি অবস্থা দাঁড়াবে, যখন আমি ডেকে আনব প্রতিটি উম্মতের মধ্য থেকে অবস্থা বর্ণনাকারী এবং আপনাকে ডাকব তাদের উপর অবস্থা বর্ণনাকারীরূপে।
How then if We brought from each people a witness, and We brought thee as a witness against these people! |

এমনিভাবে আমি আপনাকে একটি উম্মতের মধ্যে প্রেরণ করেছি। তাদের পূর্বে অনেক উম্মত অতিক্রান্ত হয়েছে। যাতে আপনি তাদেরকে ঐ নির্দেশ শুনিয়ে দেন, যা আমি আপনার কাছে প্রেরণ করেছি। তথাপি তারা দয়াময়কে অস্বীকার করে। বলুনঃ তিনিই আমার পালনকর্তা। তিনি ব্যতীত কারও উপাসনা নাই। আমি তাঁর উপরই ভরসা করেছি এবং তাঁর দিকেই আমার প্রত্যাবর্তণ।
Thus have we sent thee amongst a People before whom (long since) have (other) Peoples (gone and) passed away; in order that thou mightest rehearse unto them what We send down unto thee by inspiration; yet do they reject (Him), the Most Gracious! Say: "He is my Lord! There is no god but He! On Him is my trust, and to Him do I turn!" |

আমি প্রত্যেক উম্মতের মধ্যেই রাসূল প্রেরণ করেছি এই মর্মে যে, তোমরা আল্লাহর এবাদত কর এবং তাগুত থেকে নিরাপদ থাক। অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যে কিছু সংখ্যককে আল্লাহ হেদায়েত করেছেন এবং কিছু সংখ্যকের জন্যে বিপথগামিতা অবধারিত হয়ে গেল। সুতরাং তোমরা পৃথিবীতে ভ্রমণ কর এবং দেখ মিথ্যারোপকারীদের কিরূপ পরিণতি হয়েছে।
For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth). |

সেদিন প্রত্যেক উম্মতের মধ্যে আমি একজন বর্ণনাকারী দাঁড় করাব তাদের বিপক্ষে তাদের মধ্য থেকেই এবং তাদের বিষয়ে আপনাকে সাক্ষী স্বরূপ উপস্থাপন করব। আমি আপনার প্রতি গ্রন্থ নাযিল করেছি যেটি এমন যে তা প্রত্যেক বস্তুর সুস্পষ্ট বর্ণনা, হেদায়েত, রহমত এবং মুসলমানদের জন্যে সুসংবাদ।
One day We shall raise from all Peoples a witness against them, from amongst themselves: and We shall bring thee as a witness against these (thy people): and We have sent down to thee the Book explaining all things, a Guide, a Mercy, and Glad Tidings to Muslims. |

আমি প্রত্যেক উম্মতের জন্যে কোরবানী নির্ধারণ করেছি, যাতে তারা আল্লাহর দেয়া চতুস্পদ জন্তু যবেহ কারার সময় আল্লাহর নাম উচ্চারণ করে। অতএব তোমাদের আল্লাহ তো একমাত্র আল্লাহ সুতরাং তাঁরই আজ্ঞাধীন থাক এবং বিনয়ীগণকে সুসংবাদ দাও;
To every people did We appoint rites (of sacrifice), that they might celebrate the name of Allah over the sustenance He gave them from animals (fit for food). But your god is One God: submit then your wills to Him (in Islam): and give thou the good news to those who humble themselves,- |

আমি প্রত্যেক উম্মতের জন্যে এবাদতের একটি নিয়ম-কানুন নির্ধারণ করে দিয়েছি, যা তারা পালন করে। অতএব তারা যেন এ ব্যাপারে আপনার সাথে বিতর্ক না করে। আপনি তাদেরকে পালনকর্তার দিকে আহবান করুন। নিশ্চয় আপনি সরল পথেই আছেন।
To every People have We appointed rites and ceremonies which they must follow: let them not then dispute with thee on the matter, but do thou invite (them) to thy Lord: for thou art assuredly on the Right Way. |

এরপর আমি একাদিক্রমে আমার রসূল প্রেরণ করেছি। যখনই কোন উম্মতের কাছে তাঁর রসূল আগমন করেছেন, তখনই তারা তাঁকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছে। অতঃপর আমি তাদের একের পর এক ধ্বংস করেছি এবং তাদেরকে কাহিনীর বিষয়ে পরিণত করেছি। সুতরাং ধ্বংস হোক অবিশ্বাসীরা।
Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! |
