তারা বলল-হে শোয়ায়েব (আঃ) আপনার নামায কি আপনাকে ইহাই শিক্ষা দেয় যে, আমরা ঐসব উপাস্যদেরকে পরিত্যাগ করব আমাদের বাপ-দাদারা যাদের উপাসনা করত? অথবা আমাদের ধন-সম্পদে ইচ্ছামত যা কিছু করে থাকি, তা ছেড়ে দেব? আপনি তো একজন খাস মহৎ ব্যক্তি ও সৎপথের পথিক।
They said: "O Shu'aib! Does thy (religion of) prayer command thee that we leave off the worship which our fathers practised, or that we leave off doing what we like with our property? truly, thou art the one that forbeareth with faults and is right-minded!" |

সেদিন আল্লাহ একত্রিত করবেন তাদেরকে এবং তারা আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে যাদের এবাদত করত তাদেরকে, সেদিন তিনি উপাস্যদেরকে বলবেন, তোমরাই কি আমার এই বান্দাদেরকে পথভ্রান্ত করেছিলে, না তারা নিজেরাই পথভ্রান্ত হয়েছিল?
The day He will gather them together as well as those whom they worship besides Allah, He will ask: "Was it ye who let these My servants astray, or did they stray from the Path themselves?" |
(আল-ফুরকান:
আয়াতঃ ১৭) |

এবং বলত, আমরা কি এক উম্মাদ কবির কথায় আমাদের উপাস্যদেরকে পরিত্যাগ করব।
And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" |

না তাদের কোন শরীক উপাস্য আছে? থাকলে তাদের শরীক উপাস্যদেরকে উপস্থিত করুক যদি তারা সত্যবাদী হয়।
Or have they some "Partners" (in Allahhead)? Then let them produce their "partners", if they are truthful! |

তারা বলছেঃ তোমরা তোমাদের উপাস্যদেরকে ত্যাগ করো না এবং ত্যাগ করো না ওয়াদ, সূয়া, ইয়াগুছ, ইয়াউক ও নসরকে।
"And they have said (to each other), 'Abandon not your gods: Abandon neither Wadd nor Suwa', neither Yaguth nor Ya'uq, nor Nasr';- |
