ইতিপূর্বে মূসা (আঃ) যেমন জিজ্ঞাসিত হয়েছিলেন, (মুসলমানগন, ) তোমরাও কি তোমাদের রসূলকে তেমনি প্রশ্ন করতে চাও? যে কেউ ঈমানের পরিবর্তে কুফর গ্রহন করে, সে সরল পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়ে যায়।
Would ye question your Messenger as Moses was questioned of old? but whoever changeth from Faith to Unbelief, Hath strayed without doubt from the even way. |
(আল বাকারা:

এবং তাদেরকে যাতে সনাক্ত করা যায় যারা মুনাফিক ছিল। আর তাদেরকে বলা হল এসো, আল্লাহর রাহে লড়াই কর কিংবা শত্রুদিগকে প্রতিহত কর। তারা বলেছিল, আমরা যদি জানতাম যে, লড়াই হবে, তাহলে অবশ্যই তোমাদের সাথে থাকতাম। সে দিন তারা ঈমানের তুলনায় কুফরীর কাছাকাছি ছিল। যা তাদের অন্তরে নেই তারা নিজের মুখে সে কথাই বলে বস্তুতঃআল্লাহ ভালভাবে জানেন তারা যা কিছু গোপন করে থাকে।
And the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah, or (at least) drive (The foe from your city)." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we should certainly have followed you." They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah hath full knowledge of all they conceal. |

যারা ঈমানের পরিবর্তে কুফর ক্রয় করে নিয়েছে, তারা আল্লাহ তা’আলার কিছুই ক্ষতিসাধন করতে পারবে না। আর তাদের জন্য রয়েছে বেদনাদায়ক শাস্তি।
Those who purchase Unbelief at the price of faith,- not the least harm will they do to Allah, but they will have a grievous punishment. |

হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! আমরা নিশ্চিতরূপে শুনেছি একজন আহবানকারীকে ঈমানের প্রতি আহবান করতে যে, তোমাদের পালনকর্তার প্রতি ঈমান আন; তাই আমরা ঈমান এনেছি। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! অতঃপর আমাদের সকল গোনাহ মাফ কর এবং আমাদের সকল দোষত্রুটি দুর করে দাও, আর আমাদের মৃত্যু দাও নেক লোকদের সাথে।
"Our Lord! we have heard the call of one calling (Us) to Faith, 'Believe ye in the Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, blot out from us our iniquities, and take to Thyself our souls in the company of the righteous. |

তোমাদের আযাব দিয়ে আল্লাহ কি করবেন যদি তোমরা কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর এবং ঈমানের উপর প্রতিষ্ঠিত থাক! আর আল্লাহ হচ্ছেন সমুচিত মূল্যদানকারী সর্বজ্ঞ।
What can Allah gain by your punishment, if ye are grateful and ye believe? Nay, it is Allah that recogniseth (all good), and knoweth all things. |

অবশ্য যেসব লোক ঈমান এনেছে এবং সৎকাজ করেছে, তাদেরকে হেদায়েত দান করবেন তাদের পালনকর্তা, তাদের ঈমানের মাধ্যমে। এমন সুসময় কানন-কুঞ্জের প্রতি যার তলদেশে প্রবাহিত হয় প্রস্রবণসমূহ।
Those who believe, and work righteousness,- their Lord will guide them because of their faith: beneath them will flow rivers in gardens of bliss. |

তিনি মুমিনদের অন্তরে প্রশান্তি নাযিল করেন, যাতে তাদের ঈমানের সাথে আরও ঈমান বেড়ে যায়। নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলের বাহিনীসমূহ আল্লাহরই এবং আল্লাহ সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
It is He Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the Believers, that they may add faith to their faith;- for to Allah belong the Forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom;- |

তোমরা জেনে রাখ তোমাদের মধ্যে আল্লাহর রসূল রয়েছেন। তিনি যদি অনেক বিষয়ে তোমাদের আবদার মেনে নেন, তবে তোমরাই কষ্ট পাবে। কিন্তু আল্লাহ তোমাদের অন্তরে ঈমানের মহব্বত সৃষ্টি করে দিয়েছেন এবং তা হৃদয়গ্রাহী করে দিয়েছেন। পক্ষান্তরে কুফর, পাপাচার ও নাফরমানীর প্রতি ঘৃণা সৃষ্টি করে দিয়েছেন। তারাই সৎপথ অবলম্বনকারী।
And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune: But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;- |

তারা মুসলমান হয়ে আপনাকে ধন্য করেছে মনে করে। বলুন, তোমরা মুসলমান হয়ে আমাকে ধন্য করেছ মনে করো না। বরং আল্লাহ ঈমানের পথে পরিচালিত করে তোমাদেরকে ধন্য করেছেন, যদি তোমরা সত্যনিষ্ঠ হয়ে থাক।
They impress on thee as a favour that they have embraced Islam. Say, "Count not your Islam as a favour upon me: Nay, Allah has conferred a favour upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if ye be true and sincere. |

যারা ঈমানদার এবং যাদের সন্তানরা ঈমানে তাদের অনুগামী, আমি তাদেরকে তাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের সাথে মিলিত করে দেব এবং তাদের আমল বিন্দুমাত্রও হ্রাস করব না। প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি নিজ কৃত কর্মের জন্য দায়ী।
And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. |
(আত্ব তূর:
আয়াতঃ ২১) |

আর এই সম্পদ তাদের জন্যে, যারা তাদের পরে আগমন করেছে। তারা বলেঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমাদেরকে এবং ঈমানে আগ্রহী আমাদের ভ্রাতাগণকে ক্ষমা কর এবং ঈমানদারদের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের অন্তরে কোন বিদ্বেষ রেখো না। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আপনি দয়ালু, পরম করুণাময়।
And those who came after them say: "Our Lord! Forgive us, and our brethren who came before us into the Faith, and leave not, in our hearts, rancour (or sense of injury) against those who have believed. Our Lord! Thou art indeed Full of Kindness, Most Merciful." |
