কি আশ্চর্য, যখন তারা কোন অঙ্গীকারে আবদ্ধ হয়, তখন তাদের একদল তা ছুঁড়ে ফেলে, বরং অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাস করে না।
Is it not (the case) that every time they make a covenant, some party among them throw it aside?- Nay, Most of them are faithless. |

তোমরা কি আশ্চর্যবোধ করছ যে, তোমাদের কাছে তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের মধ্য থেকেই একজনের বাচনিক উপদেশ এসেছে যাতে সে তোমাদেরকে ভীতি প্রদর্শন করে, যেন তোমরা সংযত হও এবং যেন তোমরা অনুগৃহীত হও।
"Do ye wonder that there hath come to you a message from your Lord, through a man of your own people, to warn you,- so that ye may fear Allah and haply receive His Mercy?" |

তোমরা কি আশ্চর্য্যবোধ করছ যে, তোমাদের কাছে তোমাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের মধ্য থেকেই একজনের বাচনিক উপদেশ এসেছে যাতে সে তোমাদেরকে ভীতি প্রদর্শন করে। তোমরা স্মরণ কর, যখন আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে কওমে নূহের পর সর্দার করেছেন এবং তোমাদের দেহের বিস্তৃতি বেশী করেছেন। তোমরা আল্লাহর নেয়ামতসমূহ স্মরণ কর-যাতে তোমাদের মঙ্গল হয়।
"Do ye wonder that there hath come to you a message from your Lord through a man of your own people, to warn you? call in remembrance that He made you inheritors after the people of Noah, and gave you a stature tall among the nations. Call in remembrance the benefits (ye have received) from Allah: that so ye may prosper." |

মানুষের কাছে কি আশ্চর্য লাগছে যে, আমি ওহী পাঠিয়েছি তাদেরই মধ্য থেকে একজনের কাছে যেন তিনি মানুষকে সতর্ক করেন এবং সুসংবাদ শুনিয়ে দেন ঈমনাদারগণকে যে, তাঁদের জন্য সত্য মর্যাদা রয়েছে তাঁদের পালনকর্তার কাছে। কাফেররা বলতে লাগল, নিঃসন্দেহে এ লোক প্রকাশ্য যাদুকর।
Is it a matter of wonderment to men that We have sent Our inspiration to a man from among themselves?- that he should warn mankind (of their danger), and give the good news to the Believers that they have before their Lord the lofty rank of truth. (But) say the Unbelievers: "This is indeed an evident sorcerer!" |

সে বলল-কি দুর্ভাগ্য আমার! আমি সন্তান প্রসব করব? অথচ আমি বার্ধক্যের শেষ প্রান্তে এসে উপনীত হয়েছি আর আমার স্বামীও বৃদ্ধ, এতো ভারী আশ্চর্য কথা।
She said: "Alas for me! shall I bear a child, seeing I am an old woman, and my husband here is an old man? That would indeed be a wonderful thing!" |

সে বললঃ আপনি কি লক্ষ্য করেছেন, আমরা যখন প্রস্তর খন্ডে আশ্রয় নিয়েছিলাম, তখন আমি মাছের কথা ভুলে গিয়েছিলাম। শয়তানই আমাকে একথা স্মরণ রাখতে ভুলিয়ে দিয়েছিল। মাছটি আশ্চর্য জনক ভাবে সমুদ্রে নিজের পথ করে নিয়েছে।
He replied: "Sawest thou (what happened) when we betook ourselves to the rock? I did indeed forget (about) the Fish: none but Satan made me forget to tell (you) about it: it took its course through the sea in a marvellous way!" |

আমি যদি একে অনারব ভাষায় কোরআন করতাম, তবে অবশ্যই তারা বলত, এর আয়াতসমূহ পরিস্কার ভাষায় বিবৃত হয়নি কেন? কি আশ্চর্য যে, কিতাব অনারব ভাষায় আর রসূল আরবী ভাষী! বলুন, এটা বিশ্বাসীদের জন্য হেদায়েত ও রোগের প্রতিকার। যারা মুমিন নয়, তাদের কানে আছে ছিপি, আর কোরআন তাদের জন্যে অন্ধত্ব। তাদেরকে যেন দূরবর্তী স্থান থেকে আহবান করা হয়।
Had We sent this as a Qur'an (in the language) other than Arabic, they would have said: "Why are not its verses explained in detail? What! (a Book) not in Arabic and (a Messenger an Arab?" Say: "It is a Guide and a Healing to those who believe; and for those who believe not, there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in their (eyes): They are (as it were) being called from a place far distant!" |

বরং তারা তাদের মধ্য থেকেই একজন ভয় প্রদর্শনকারী আগমন করেছে দেখে বিস্ময় বোধ করে। অতঃপর কাফেররা বলেঃ এটা আশ্চর্যের ব্যাপার।
But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing! |

তোমরা কি এই বিষয়ে আশ্চর্যবোধ করছ?
Do ye then wonder at this recital? |

আমি আশ্চর্য উপায়ে পানি বর্ষণ করেছি,
For that We pour forth water in abundance, |
