Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek. |
(আল ফাতিহা:

আর মানুষের মধ্যে কিছু লোক এমন রয়েছে যারা বলে, আমরা আল্লাহ ও পরকালের প্রতি ঈমান এনেছি অথচ আদৌ তারা ঈমানদার নয়।
Of the people there are some who say: "We believe in Allah and the Last Day;" but they do not (really) believe. |

আর যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয় যে, দুনিয়ার বুকে দাঙ্গা-হাঙ্গামা সৃষ্টি করো না, তখন তারা বলে, আমরা তো মীমাংসার পথ অবলম্বন করেছি।
When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!" |

আর যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয়, অন্যান্যরা যেভাবে ঈমান এনেছে তোমরাও সেভাবে ঈমান আন, তখন তারা বলে, আমরাও কি ঈমান আনব বোকাদেরই মত! মনে রেখো, প্রকৃতপক্ষে তারাই বোকা, কিন্তু তারা তা বোঝে না।
When it is said to them: "Believe as the others believe:" They say: "Shall we believe as the fools believe?" Nay, of a surety they are the fools, but they do not know. |

আর তারা যখন ঈমানদারদের সাথে মিশে, তখন বলে, আমরা ঈমান এনেছি। আবার যখন তাদের শয়তানদের সাথে একান্তে সাক্ষাৎ করে, তখন বলে, আমরা তোমাদের সাথে রয়েছি। আমরা তো (মুসলমানদের সাথে) উপহাস করি মাত্রা।
When they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe;" but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say: "We are really with you: We (were) only jesting." |
(আল বাকারা:
আয়াতঃ ১৪) |

আর হে নবী (সাঃ), যারা ঈমান এনেছে এবং সৎকাজসমূহ করেছে, আপনি তাদেরকে এমন বেহেশতের সুসংবাদ দিন, যার পাদদেশে নহরসমূহ প্রবাহমান থাকবে। যখনই তারা খাবার হিসেবে কোন ফল প্রাপ্ত হবে, তখনই তারা বলবে, এতো অবিকল সে ফলই যা আমরা ইতিপূর্বেও লাভ করেছিলাম। বস্তুতঃ তাদেরকে একই প্রকৃতির ফল প্রদান করা হবে। এবং সেখানে তাদের জন্য শুদ্ধচারিনী রমণীকূল থাকবে। আর সেখানে তারা অনন্তকাল অবস্থান করবে।
But give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness, that their portion is Gardens, beneath which rivers flow. Every time they are fed with fruits therefrom, they say: "Why, this is what we were fed with before," for they are given things in similitude; and they have therein companions pure (and holy); and they abide therein (for ever). |

আর তোমার পালনকর্তা যখন ফেরেশতাদিগকে বললেনঃ আমি পৃথিবীতে একজন প্রতিনিধি বানাতে যাচ্ছি, তখন ফেরেশতাগণ বলল, তুমি কি পৃথিবীতে এমন কাউকে সৃষ্টি করবে যে দাঙ্গা-হাঙ্গামার সৃষ্টি করবে এবং রক্তপাত ঘটাবে? অথচ আমরা নিয়ত তোমার গুণকীর্তন করছি এবং তোমার পবিত্র সত্তাকে স্মরণ করছি। তিনি বললেন, নিঃসন্দেহে আমি জানি, যা তোমরা জান না।
Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create a vicegerent on earth." They said: "Wilt Thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood?- whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)?" He said: "I know what ye know not." |

তারা বলল, তুমি পবিত্র! আমরা কোন কিছুই জানি না, তবে তুমি যা আমাদিগকে শিখিয়েছ (সেগুলো ব্যতীত) নিশ্চয় তুমিই প্রকৃত জ্ঞানসম্পন্ন, হেকমতওয়ালা।
They said: "Glory to Thee, of knowledge We have none, save what Thou Hast taught us: In truth it is Thou Who art perfect in knowledge and wisdom." |

আর যখন তোমরা বললে, হে মূসা, কস্মিনকালেও আমরা তোমাকে বিশ্বাস করব না, যতক্ষণ না আমরা আল্লাহকে (প্রকাশ্যে) দেখতে পাব। বস্তুতঃ তোমাদিগকে পাকড়াও করল বিদ্যুৎ। অথচ তোমরা তা প্রত্যক্ষ করছিলে।
And remember ye said: "O Moses! We shall never believe in thee until we see Allah manifestly," but ye were dazed with thunder and lighting even as ye looked on. |

আর তোমরা যখন বললে, হে মূসা, আমরা একই ধরনের খাদ্য-দ্রব্যে কখনও ধৈর্য্যধারণ করব না। কাজেই তুমি তোমার পালনকর্তার নিকট আমাদের পক্ষে প্রার্থনা কর, তিনি যেন আমাদের জন্যে এমন বস্তুসামগ্রী দান করেন যা জমিতে উৎপন্ন হয়, তরকারী, কাকড়ী, গম, মসুরি, পেঁয়াজ প্রভৃতি। মূসা (আঃ) বললেন, তোমরা কি এমন বস্তু নিতে চাও যা নিকৃষ্ট সে বস্তুর পরিবর্তে যা উত্তম? তোমরা কোন নগরীতে উপনীত হও, তাহলেই পাবে যা তোমরা কামনা করছ। আর তাদের উপর আরোপ করা হল লাঞ্ছনা ও পরমুখাপেক্ষিতা। তারা আল্লাহর রোষানলে পতিত হয়ে ঘুরতে থাকল। এমন হলো এ জন্য যে, তারা আল্লাহর বিধি বিধান মানতো না এবং নবীগনকে অন্যায়ভাবে হত্যা করত। তার কারণ, তারা ছিল নাফরমান সীমালংঘকারী।
And remember ye said: "O Moses! we cannot endure one kind of food (always); so beseech thy Lord for us to produce for us of what the earth groweth, -its pot-herbs, and cucumbers, Its garlic, lentils, and onions." He said: "Will ye exchange the better for the worse? Go ye down to any town, and ye shall find what ye want!" They were covered with humiliation and misery; they drew on themselves the wrath of Allah. This because they went on rejecting the Signs of Allah and slaying His Messengers without just cause. This because they rebelled and went on transgressing. |

তারা বলল, আপনি প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করুন-তিনি বলে দিন যে, সেটা কিরূপ? কেননা, গরু আমাদের কাছে সাদৃশ্যশীল মনে হয়। ইনশাআল্লাহ এবার আমরা অবশ্যই পথপ্রাপ্ত হব। মূসা (আঃ) বললেন, তিনি বলেন যে, এ গাভী ভূকর্ষণ ও জল সেচনের শ্রমে অভ্যস্ত নয়-হবে নিষ্কলঙ্ক, নিখুঁত।
They said: "Beseech on our behalf Thy Lord to make plain to us what she is: To us are all heifers alike: We wish indeed for guidance, if Allah wills." |

আয়াতঃ ৭০) |

যখন তারা মুসলমানদের সাথে মিলিত হয়, তখন বলেঃ আমরা মুসলমান হয়েছি। আর যখন পরস্পরের সাথে নিভৃতে অবস্থান করে, তখন বলে, পালনকর্তা তোমাদের জন্যে যা প্রকাশ করেছেন, তা কি তাদের কাছে বলে দিচ্ছ? তাহলে যে তারা এ নিয়ে পালকর্তার সামনে তোমাদেরকে মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করবে। তোমরা কি তা উপলব্ধি কর না?
Behold! when they meet the men of Faith, they say: "We believe": But when they meet each other in private, they say: "Shall you tell them what Allah hath revealed to you, that they may engage you in argument about it before your Lord?"- Do ye not understand (their aim)? |

যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয়, আল্লাহ যা পাঠিয়েছেন তা মেনে নাও, তখন তারা বলে, আমরা মানি যা আমাদের প্রতি অবর্তীণ হয়েছে। সেটি ছাড়া সবগুলোকে তারা অস্বীকার করে। অথচ এ গ্রন্থটি সত্য এবং সত্যায়ন করে ঐ গ্রন্থের যা তাদের কাছে রয়েছে। বলে দিন, তবে তোমরা ইতিপূর্বে পয়গম্বরদের হত্যা করতে কেন যদি তোমরা বিশ্বাসী ছিলে?
When it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah Hath sent down, "they say, "We believe in what was sent down to us:" yet they reject all besides, even if it be Truth confirming what is with them. Say: "Why then have ye slain the prophets of Allah in times gone by, if ye did indeed believe?" |

আর যখন আমি তোমাদের কাছ থেকে প্রতিশ্রুতি নিলাম এবং তুর পর্বতকে তোমাদের উপর তুলে ধরলাম যে, শক্ত করে ধর, আমি যা তোমাদের দিয়েছি আর শোন। তারা বলল, আমরা শুনেছি আর অমান্য করেছি। কুফরের কারণে তাদের অন্তরে গোবৎসপ্রীতি পান করানো হয়েছিল। বলে দিন, তোমরা বিশ্বাসী হলে, তোমাদের সে বিশ্বাস মন্দ বিষয়াদি শিক্ষা দেয়।
And remember We took your covenant and We raised above you (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai): (Saying): "Hold firmly to what We have given you, and hearken (to the Law)": They said:" We hear, and we disobey:" And they had to drink into their hearts (of the taint) of the calf because of their Faithlessness. Say: "Vile indeed are the behests of your Faith if ye have any faith!" |

তারা ঐ শাস্ত্রের অনুসরণ করল, যা সুলায়মানের রাজত্ব কালে শয়তানরা আবৃত্তি করত। সুলায়মান কুফর করেনি; শয়তানরাই কুফর করেছিল। তারা মানুষকে জাদুবিদ্যা এবং বাবেল শহরে হারুত ও মারুত দুই ফেরেশতার প্রতি যা অবতীর্ণ হয়েছিল, তা শিক্ষা দিত। তারা উভয়ই একথা না বলে কাউকে শিক্ষা দিত না যে, আমরা পরীক্ষার জন্য; কাজেই তুমি কাফের হয়ো না। অতঃপর তারা তাদের কাছ থেকে এমন জাদু শিখত, যদ্দ্বারা স্বামী ও স্ত্রীর মধ্যে বিচ্ছেদ ঘটে। তারা আল্লাহর আদেশ ছাড়া তদ্দ্বারা কারও অনিষ্ট করতে পারত না। যা তাদের ক্ষতি করে এবং উপকার না করে, তারা তাই শিখে। তারা ভালরূপে জানে যে, যে কেউ জাদু অবলম্বন করে, তার জন্য পরকালে কোন অংশ নেই। যার বিনিময়ে তারা আত্নবিক্রয় করেছে, তা খুবই মন্দ যদি তারা জানত।
They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones, teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without saying: "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them, not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew! |

তোমরা কি উপস্থিত ছিলে, যখন ইয়াকুবের মৃত্যু নিকটবর্তী হয়? যখন সে সন্তানদের বললঃ আমার পর তোমরা কার এবাদত করবে? তারা বললো, আমরা তোমার পিতৃ-পুরুষ ইব্রাহীম, ইসমাঈল ও ইসহাকের উপাস্যের এবাদত করব। তিনি একক উপাস্য।
Were ye witnesses when death appeared before Jacob? Behold, he said to his sons: "What will ye worship after me?" They said: "We shall worship Thy god and the god of thy fathers, of Abraham, Isma'il and Isaac,- the one (True) Allah: To Him we bow (in Islam)." |

আয়াতঃ ১৩৩) |

আমরা সবাই তাঁর আজ্ঞাবহ। তারা ছিল এক সম্প্রদায়-যারা গত হয়ে গেছে। তারা যা করেছে, তা তাদেরই জন্যে। তারা কি করত, সে সম্পর্কে তোমরা জিজ্ঞাসিত হবে না।
That was a people that hath passed away. They shall reap the fruit of what they did, and ye of what ye do! Of their merits there is no question in your case! |

আয়াতঃ ১৩৪) |
| 18 |
তারা বলে, তোমরা ইহুদী অথবা খ্রীষ্টান হয়ে যাও, তবেই সুপথ পাবে। আপনি বলুন, কখনই নয়; বরং আমরা ইব্রাহীমের ধর্মে আছি যাতে বক্রতা নেই। সে মুশরিকদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল না।
They say: "Become Jews or Christians if ye would be guided (To salvation)." Say thou: "Nay! (I would rather) the Religion of Abraham the True, and he joined not gods with Allah." |

আয়াতঃ ১৩৫) |

তোমরা বল, আমরা ঈমান এনেছি আল্লাহর উপর এবং যা অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে আমাদের প্রতি এবং যা অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে ইব্রাহীম, ইসমাঈল, ইসহাক, ইয়াকুব এবং তদীয় বংশধরের প্রতি এবং মূসা, ঈসা, অন্যান্য নবীকে পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে যা দান করা হয়েছে, তৎসমুদয়ের উপর। আমরা তাদের মধ্যে পার্থক্য করি না। আমরা তাঁরই আনুগত্যকারী।
Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam)." |

আয়াতঃ ১৩৬) |
| 20 |
আমরা আল্লাহর রং গ্রহণ করেছি। আল্লাহর রং এর চাইতে উত্তম রং আর কার হতে পারে?আমরা তাঁরই এবাদত করি।
(Our religion is) the Baptism of Allah: And who can baptize better than Allah? And it is He Whom we worship. |
(আল বাকারা:
আয়াতঃ ১৩৮) |
| 21 |
আপনি বলে দিন, তোমরা কি আমাদের সাথে আল্লাহ সম্পর্কে তর্ক করছ? অথচ তিনিই আমাদের পালনকর্তা এবং তোমাদের ও পালনকর্তা। আমাদের জন্যে আমাদের কর্ম তোমাদের জন্যে তোমাদের কর্ম। এবং আমরা তাঁরই প্রতি একনিষ্ঠ।
Say: Will ye dispute with us about Allah, seeing that He is our Lord and your Lord; that we are responsible for our doings and ye for yours; and that We are sincere (in our faith) in Him? |
(আল বাকারা:
আয়াতঃ ১৩৯) |
| 22 |
যখন তারা বিপদে পতিত হয়, তখন বলে, নিশ্চয় আমরা সবাই আল্লাহর জন্য এবং আমরা সবাই তাঁরই সান্নিধ্যে ফিরে যাবো।
Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return":- |

| 23 |
এবং অনুসারীরা বলবে, কতইনা ভাল হত, যদি আমাদিগকে পৃথিবীতে ফিরে যাবার সুযোগ দেয়া হত। তাহলে আমরাও তাদের প্রতি তেমনি অসন্তুষ্ট হয়ে যেতাম, যেমন তারা অসন্তুষ্ট হয়েছে আমাদের প্রতি। এভাবেই আল্লাহ তা’আলা তাদেরকে দেখাবেন তাদের কৃতকর্ম তাদেরকে অনুতপ্ত করার জন্যে। অথচ, তারা কস্মিনকালেও আগুন থেকে বের হতে পারবে না।
And those who followed would say: "If only We had one more chance, We would clear ourselves of them, as they have cleared themselves of us." Thus will Allah show them (The fruits of) their deeds as (nothing but) regrets. Nor will there be a way for them out of the Fire. |

আর যখন তাদেরকে কেউ বলে যে, সে হুকুমেরই আনুগত্য কর যা আল্লাহ তা’আলা নাযিল করেছেন, তখন তারা বলে কখনো না, আমরা তো সে বিষয়েরই অনুসরণ করব। যাতে আমরা আমাদের বাপ-দাদাদেরকে দেখেছি। যদি ও তাদের বাপ দাদারা কিছুই জানতো না, জানতো না সরল পথও।
When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah hath revealed:" They say: "Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers." What! even though their fathers Were void of wisdom and guidance? |

আয়াতঃ ১৭০) |
| 25 |
মূসার পরে তুমি কি বনী ইসরাঈলের একটি দলকে দেখনি, যখন তারা বলেছে নিজেদের নবীর কাছে যে, আমাদের জন্য একজন বাদশাহ নির্ধারিত করে দিন যাতে আমরা আল্লাহর পথে যুদ্ধ করতে পারি। নবী বললেন, তোমাদের প্রতিও কি এমন ধারণা করা যায় যে, লড়াইর হুকুম যদি হয়, তাহলে তখন তোমরা লড়বে না? তারা বলল, আমাদের কি হয়েছে যে, আমরা আল্লাহর পথে লড়াই করব না। অথচ আমরা বিতাড়িত হয়েছি নিজেদের ঘর-বাড়ী ও সন্তান-সন্ততি থেকে। অতঃপর যখন লড়াইয়ের নির্দেশ হলো, তখন সামান্য কয়েকজন ছাড়া তাদের সবাই ঘুরে দাঁড়ালো। আর আল্লাহ তা’আলা জালেমদের ভাল করেই জানেন।
Hast thou not Turned thy vision to the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Moses? they said to a prophet (That was) among them: "Appoint for us a king, that we May fight in the cause of Allah." He said: "Is it not possible, if ye were commanded to fight, that that ye will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to fight in the cause of Allah, seeing that we were turned out of our homes and our families?" but when they were commanded to fight, they turned back, except a small band among them. But Allah Has full knowledge of those who do wrong. |

এগুলো হলো আল্লাহর নিদর্শন, যা আমরা তোমাদেরকে যথাযথভাবে শুনিয়ে থাকি। আর আপনি নিশ্চিতই আমার রসূলগণের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
These are the Signs of Allah: we rehearse them to thee in truth: verily Thou art one of the messengers. |

রসূল বিশ্বাস রাখেন ঐ সমস্ত বিষয় সম্পর্কে যা তাঁর পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে তাঁর কাছে অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে এবং মুসলমানরাও সবাই বিশ্বাস রাখে আল্লাহর প্রতি, তাঁর ফেরেশতাদের প্রতি, তাঁর গ্রন্থসমুহের প্রতি এবং তাঁর পয়গম্বরগণের প্রতি। তারা বলে আমরা তাঁর পয়গম্বরদের মধ্যে কোন তারতম্য করিনা। তারা বলে, আমরা শুনেছি এবং কবুল করেছি। আমরা তোমার ক্ষমা চাই, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা। তোমারই দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করতে হবে।
The Messenger believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith. Each one (of them) believeth in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers. "We make no distinction (they say) between one and another of His messengers." And they say: "We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys." |

আয়াতঃ ২৮৫) |

আল্লাহ কাউকে তার সাধ্যাতীত কোন কাজের ভার দেন না, সে তাই পায় যা সে উপার্জন করে এবং তাই তার উপর বর্তায় যা সে করে। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, যদি আমরা ভুলে যাই কিংবা ভুল করি, তবে আমাদেরকে অপরাধী করো না। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! এবং আমাদের উপর এমন দায়িত্ব অর্পণ করো না, যেমন আমাদের পূর্ববর্তীদের উপর অর্পণ করেছ, হে আমাদের প্রভূ! এবং আমাদের দ্বারা ঐ বোঝা বহন করিও না, যা বহন করার শক্তি আমাদের নাই। আমাদের পাপ মোচন কর। আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা কর এবং আমাদের প্রতি দয়া কর। তুমিই আমাদের প্রভু। সুতরাং কাফের সম্প্রদায়ের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের কে সাহায্যে কর।
On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray:) "Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith." |

তিনিই আপনার প্রতি কিতাব নাযিল করেছেন। তাতে কিছু আয়াত রয়েছে সুস্পষ্ট, সেগুলোই কিতাবের আসল অংশ। আর অন্যগুলো রূপক। সুতরাং যাদের অন্তরে কুটিলতা রয়েছে, তারা অনুসরণ করে ফিৎনা বিস্তার এবং অপব্যাখ্যার উদ্দেশে তন্মধ্যেকার রূপকগুলোর। আর সেগুলোর ব্যাখ্যা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত কেউ জানে না। আর যারা জ্ঞানে সুগভীর, তারা বলেনঃ আমরা এর প্রতি ঈমান এনেছি। এই সবই আমাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে। আর বোধশক্তি সম্পন্নেরা ছাড়া অপর কেউ শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করে না।
He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding. |

যারা বলে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমরা ঈমান এনেছি, কাজেই আমাদের গোনাহ ক্ষমা করে দাও আর আমাদেরকে দোযখের আযাব থেকে রক্ষা কর।
(Namely), those who say: "Our Lord! we have indeed believed: forgive us, then, our sins, and save us from the agony of the Fire;"- |

আয়াতঃ ১৬) |

অতঃপর ঈসা (আঃ) যখন বণী ইসরায়ীলের কুফরী সম্পর্কে উপলব্ধি করতে পারলেন, তখন বললেন, কারা আছে আল্লাহর পথে আমাকে সাহায্য করবে? সঙ্গী-সাথীরা বললো, আমরা রয়েছি আল্লাহর পথে সাহায্যকারী। আমরা আল্লাহর প্রতি ঈমান এনেছি। আর তুমি সাক্ষী থাক যে, আমরা হুকুম কবুল করে নিয়েছি।
When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: "Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah?" Said the disciples: "We are Allah's helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims. |

হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! আমরা সে বিষয়ের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি যা তুমি নাযিল করেছ, আমরা রসূলের অনুগত হয়েছি। অতএব, আমাদিগকে মান্যকারীদের তালিকাভুক্ত করে নাও।
"Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow the Messenger; then write us down among those who bear witness." |
(আল ইমরান:
আয়াতঃ ৫৩) |

অতঃপর তোমার নিকট সত্য সংবাদ এসে যাওয়ার পর যদি এই কাহিনী সম্পর্কে তোমার সাথে কেউ বিবাদ করে, তাহলে বল-এসো, আমরা ডেকে নেই আমাদের পুত্রদের এবং তোমাদের পুত্রদের এবং আমাদের স্ত্রীদের ও তোমাদের স্ত্রীদের এবং আমাদের নিজেদের ও তোমাদের নিজেদের আর তারপর চল আমরা সবাই মিলে প্রার্থনা করি এবং তাদের প্রতি আল্লাহর অভিসম্পাত করি যারা মিথ্যাবাদী।
If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!" |

বলুনঃ ‘হে আহলে-কিতাবগণ! একটি বিষয়ের দিকে আস-যা আমাদের মধ্যে ও তোমাদের মধ্যে সমান-যে, আমরা আল্লাহ ছাড়া অন্য কারও ইবাদত করব না, তাঁর সাথে কোন শরীক সাব্যস্ত করব না এবং একমাত্র আল্লাহকে ছাড়া কাউকে পালনকর্তা বানাব না। তারপর যদি তারা স্বীকার না করে, তাহলে বলে দাও যে, ‘সাক্ষী থাক আমরা তো অনুগত।
Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will). |

আর আল্লাহ যখন নবীগনের কাছ থেকে অস্বীকার গ্রহন করলেন যে, আমি যা কিছু তোমাদের দান করেছি কিতাব ও জ্ঞান এবং অতঃপর তোমাদের নিকট কোন রসূল আসেন তোমাদের কিতাবকে সত্য বলে দেয়ার জন্য, তখন সে রসূলের প্রতি ঈমান আনবে এবং তার সাহায্য করবে। তিনি বললেন, ‘তোমার কি অঙ্গীকার করছো এবং এই শর্তে আমার ওয়াদা গ্রহণ করে নিয়েছ? তারা বললো, ‘আমরা অঙ্গীকার করেছি’। তিনি বললেন, তাহলে এবার সাক্ষী থাক। আর আমিও তোমাদের সাথে সাক্ষী রইলাম।
Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses." |

বলুন, আমরা ঈমান এনেছি আল্লাহর উপর এবং যা কিছু অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে আমাদের উপর, ইব্রাহীম, ইসমাঈল, ইসহাক, ইয়াকুব এবং তাঁদের সন্তানবর্গের উপর আর যা কিছু পেয়েছেন মূসা ও ঈসা এবং অন্যান্য নবী রসূলগণ তাঁদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে। আমরা তাঁদের কারো মধ্যে পার্থক্য করি না। আর আমরা তাঁরই অনুগত।
Say: "We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another among them, and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam)." |

দেখ! তোমরাই তাদের ভালবাস, কিন্তু তারা তোমাদের প্রতি মোটেও সদভাব পোষণ করে না। আর তোমরা সমস্ত কিতাবেই বিশ্বাস কর। অথচ তারা যখন তোমাদের সাথে এসে মিশে, বলে, আমরা ঈমান এনেছি। পক্ষান্তরে তারা যখন পৃথক হয়ে যায়, তখন তোমাদের উপর রোষবশতঃ আঙ্গুল কামড়াতে থাকে। বলুন, তোমরা আক্রোশে মরতে থাক। আর আল্লাহ মনের কথা ভালই জানেন।
Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in your rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart." |

আয়াতঃ ১১৯) |

অতঃপর তোমাদের উপর শোকের পর শান্তি অবতীর্ণ করলেন, যা ছিল তন্দ্রার মত। সে তন্দ্রায় তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ ঝিমোচ্ছিল আর কেউ কেউ প্রাণের ভয়ে ভাবছিল। আল্লাহ সম্পর্কে তাদের মিথ্যা ধারণা হচ্ছিল মুর্খদের মত। তারা বলছিল আমাদের হাতে কি কিছুই করার নেই? তুমি বল, সবকিছুই আল্লাহর হাতে। তারা যা কিছু মনে লুকিয়ে রাখে-তোমার নিকট প্রকাশ করে না সে সবও। তারা বলে আমাদের হাতে যদি কিছু করার থাকতো, তাহলে আমরা এখানে নিহত হতাম না। তুমি বল, তোমরা যদি নিজেদের ঘরেও থাকতে তবুও তারা অবশ্যই বেরিয়ে আসত নিজেদের অবস্থান থেকে যাদের মৃত্যু লিখে দেয়া হয়েছে। তোমাদের বুকে যা রয়েছে তার পরীক্ষা করা ছিল আল্লাহর ইচ্ছা, আর তোমাদের অন্তরে যা কিছু রয়েছে তা পরিষ্কার করা ছিল তাঁর কাম্য। আল্লাহ মনের গোপন বিষয় জানেন।
After (the excitement) of the distress, He sent down calm on a band of you overcome with slumber, while another band was stirred to anxiety by their own feelings, Moved by wrong suspicions of Allah-suspicions due to ignorance. They said: "What affair is this of ours?" Say thou: "Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah's." They hide in their minds what they dare not reveal to thee. They say (to themselves): "If we had had anything to do with this affair, We should not have been in the slaughter here." Say: "Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place of their death"; but (all this was) that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purge what is in your hearts. For Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts. |

এবং তাদেরকে যাতে সনাক্ত করা যায় যারা মুনাফিক ছিল। আর তাদেরকে বলা হল এসো, আল্লাহর রাহে লড়াই কর কিংবা শত্রুদিগকে প্রতিহত কর। তারা বলেছিল, আমরা যদি জানতাম যে, লড়াই হবে, তাহলে অবশ্যই তোমাদের সাথে থাকতাম। সে দিন তারা ঈমানের তুলনায় কুফরীর কাছাকাছি ছিল। যা তাদের অন্তরে নেই তারা নিজের মুখে সে কথাই বলে বস্তুতঃআল্লাহ ভালভাবে জানেন তারা যা কিছু গোপন করে থাকে।
And the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah, or (at least) drive (The foe from your city)." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we should certainly have followed you." They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah hath full knowledge of all they conceal. |

নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহ তাদের কথা শুনেছেন, যারা বলেছে যে, আল্লাহ হচ্ছেন অভাবগ্রস্ত আর আমরা বিত্তবান! এখন আমি তাদের কথা এবং যেসব নবীকে তারা অন্যায়ভাবে হত্যা করেছে তা লিখে রাখব, অতঃপর বলব, আস্বাদন কর জ্বলন্ত আগুনের আযাব।
Allah hath heard the taunt of those who say: "Truly, Allah is indigent and we are rich!"- We shall certainly record their word and (their act) of slaying the prophets in defiance of right, and We shall say: "Taste ye the penalty of the Scorching Fire! |

আয়াতঃ ১৮১) |

হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! আমরা নিশ্চিতরূপে শুনেছি একজন আহবানকারীকে ঈমানের প্রতি আহবান করতে যে, তোমাদের পালনকর্তার প্রতি ঈমান আন; তাই আমরা ঈমান এনেছি। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! অতঃপর আমাদের সকল গোনাহ মাফ কর এবং আমাদের সকল দোষত্রুটি দুর করে দাও, আর আমাদের মৃত্যু দাও নেক লোকদের সাথে।
"Our Lord! we have heard the call of one calling (Us) to Faith, 'Believe ye in the Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, blot out from us our iniquities, and take to Thyself our souls in the company of the righteous. |

কোন কোন ইহুদী তার লক্ষ্য থেকে কথার মোড় ঘুড়িয়ে নেয় এবং বলে, আমরা শুনেছি কিন্তু অমান্য করছি। তারা আরো বলে, শোন, না শোনার মত। মুখ বাঁকিয়ে দ্বীনের প্রতি তাচ্ছিল্য প্রদর্শনের উদ্দেশে বলে, রায়েনা’ (আমাদের রাখাল)। অথচ যদি তারা বলত যে, আমরা শুনেছি ও মান্য করেছি এবং (যদি বলত, ) শোন এবং আমাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য রাখ, তবে তাই ছিল তাদের জন্য উত্তম আর সেটাই ছিল যথার্থ ও সঠিক। কিন্তু আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি অভিসম্পাত করেছেন তাদের কুফরীর দরুন। অতএব, তারা ঈমান আনছে না, কিন্তু অতি অল্পসংখ্যক।
Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith. If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe. |

আয়াতঃ ৪৬) |

আপনি কি তাদেরকে দেখেননি, যারা দাবী করে যে, যা আপনার প্রতি অবর্তীর্ণ হয়েছে আমরা সে বিষয়ের উপর ঈমান এনেছি এবং আপনার পূর্বে যা অবর্তীণ হয়েছে। তারা বিরোধীয় বিষয়কে শয়তানের দিকে নিয়ে যেতে চায়, অথচ তাদের প্রতি নির্দেশ হয়েছে, যাতে তারা ওকে মান্য না করে। পক্ষান্তরে শয়তান তাদেরকে প্রতারিত করে পথভ্রষ্ট করে ফেলতে চায়।
Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who declare that they believe in the revelations that have come to thee and to those before thee? Their (real) wish is to resort together for judgment (in their disputes) to the Evil One, though they were ordered to reject him. But Satan's wish is to lead them astray far away (from the right). |

আয়াতঃ ৬০) |
| 44 |
যারা নিজের অনিষ্ট করে, ফেরেশতারা তাদের প্রাণ হরণ করে বলে, তোমরা কি অবস্থায় ছিলে? তারা বলেঃ এ ভূখন্ডে আমরা অসহায় ছিলাম। ফেরেশতারা বলেঃ আল্লাহর পৃথিবী কি প্রশস্ত ছিল না যে, তোমরা দেশত্যাগ করে সেখানে চলে যেতে? অতএব, এদের বাসস্থান হল জাহান্নাম এবং তা অত্যন্ত মন্দ স্থান।
When angels take the souls of those who die in sin against their souls, they say: "In what (plight) Were ye?" They reply: "Weak and oppressed Were we in the earth." They say: "Was not the earth of Allah spacious enough for you to move yourselves away (From evil)?" Such men will find their abode in Hell,- What an evil refuge! - |

আয়াতঃ ৯৭) |
| 45 |
এরা এমনি মুনাফেক যারা তোমাদের কল্যাণ-অকল্যাণের প্রতীক্ষায় ওঁৎপেতে থাকে। অতঃপর আল্লাহর ইচ্ছায় তোমাদের যদি কোন বিজয় অর্জিত হয়, তবে তারা বলে, আমরাও কি তোমাদের সাথে ছিলাম না? পক্ষান্তরে কাফেরদের যদি আংশিক বিজয় হয়, তবে বলে, আমরা কি তোমাদেরকে ঘিরে রাখিনি এবং মুসলমানদের কবল থেকে রক্ষা করিনি? সুতরাং আল্লাহ তোমাদের মধ্যে কেয়ামতের দিন মীমাংসা করবেন এবং কিছুতেই আল্লাহ কাফেরদেরকে মুসলমানদের উপর বিজয় দান করবেন না।
(These are) the ones who wait and watch about you: if ye do gain a victory from Allah, they say: "Were we not with you?"- but if the unbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): "Did we not gain an advantage over you, and did we not guard you from the believers?" but Allah will judge betwixt you on the Day of Judgment. And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers. |
(আন নিসা:
আয়াতঃ ১৪১) |
| 46 |
যারা আল্লাহ ও তার রসূলের প্রতি অস্বীকৃতি জ্ঞাপনকারী তদুপরি আল্লাহ ও রসূলের প্রতি বিশ্বাসে তারতম্য করতে চায় আর বলে যে, আমরা কতককে বিশ্বাস করি কিন্তু কতককে প্রত্যাখ্যান করি এবং এরই মধ্যবর্তী কোন পথ অবলম্বন করতে চায়।
Those who deny Allah and His messengers, and (those who) wish to separate Allah from His messengers, saying: "We believe in some but reject others": And (those who) wish to take a course midway,- |

আয়াতঃ ১৫০) |
| 47 |
আর তাদের একথা বলার কারণে যে, আমরা মরিয়ম পুত্র ঈসা মসীহকে হত্যা করেছি যিনি ছিলেন আল্লাহর রসূল। অথচ তারা না তাঁকে হত্যা করেছে, আর না শুলীতে চড়িয়েছে, বরং তারা এরূপ ধাঁধায় পতিত হয়েছিল। বস্তুতঃ তারা এ ব্যাপারে নানা রকম কথা বলে, তারা এক্ষেত্রে সন্দেহের মাঝে পড়ে আছে, শুধুমাত্র অনুমান করা ছাড়া তারা এ বিষয়ে কোন খবরই রাখে না। আর নিশ্চয়ই তাঁকে তারা হত্যা করেনি।
That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- |

আয়াতঃ ১৫৭) |

তোমরা আল্লাহর নেয়ামতের কথা স্মরণ কর, যা তোমাদের প্রতি অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে এবং ঐ অঙ্গীকারকেও যা তোমাদের কাছ থেকে নিয়েছেন, যখন তোমরা বলেছিলেঃ আমরা শুনলাম এবং মেনে নিলাম। আল্লাহকে ভয় কর। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ অন্তরের বিষয় সম্পর্কে পুরোপুরি খবর রাখেন।
And call in remembrance the favour of Allah unto you, and His covenant, which He ratified with you, when ye said: "We hear and we obey": And fear Allah, for Allah knoweth well the secrets of your hearts. |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৭) |

যারা বলেঃ আমরা নাছারা, আমি তাদের কাছ থেকেও তাদের অঙ্গীকার নিয়েছিলাম। অতঃপর তারাও যে উপদেশ প্রাপ্ত হয়েছিল, তা থেকে উপকার লাভ করা ভুলে গেল। অতঃপর আমি কেয়ামত পর্যন্ত তাদের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক শত্রুতা ও বিদ্বেষ সঞ্চারিত করে দিয়েছি। অবশেষে আল্লাহ তাদেরকে তাদের কৃতকর্ম সম্পর্কে অবহিত করবেন।
From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done. |

আয়াতঃ ১৪) |

ইহুদী ও খ্রীষ্টানরা বলে, আমরা আল্লাহর সন্তান ও তাঁর প্রিয়জন। আপনি বলুন, তবে তিনি তোমাদেরকে পাপের বিনিময়ে কেন শাস্তি দান করবেন? বরং তোমারও অন্যান্য সৃষ্ট মানবের অন্তর্ভুক্ত সাধারণ মানুষ। তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছা ক্ষমা করেন এবং যাকে ইচ্ছা শাস্তি প্রদান করেন। নভোমন্ডল, ভুমন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যে যা কিছু আছে, তাতে আল্লাহরই আধিপত্য রয়েছে এবং তাঁর দিকেই প্রত্যাবর্তন করতে হবে।
(Both) the Jews and the Christians say: "We are sons of Allah, and his beloved." Say: "Why then doth He punish you for your sins? Nay, ye are but men,- of the men he hath created: He forgiveth whom He pleaseth, and He punisheth whom He pleaseth: and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)" |

আয়াতঃ ১৮) |
| 51 |
তারা বললঃ হে মূসা, সেখানে একটি প্রবল পরাক্রান্ত জাতি রয়েছে। আমরা কখনও সেখানে যাব না, যে পর্যন্ত না তারা সেখান থেকে বের হয়ে যায়। তারা যদি সেখান থেকে বের হয়ে যায় তবে নিশ্চিতই আমরা প্রবেশ করব।’
They said: "O Moses! In this land are a people of exceeding strength: Never shall we enter it until they leave it: if (once) they leave, then shall we enter." |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ২২) |
| 52 |
তারা বললঃ হে মূসা, আমরা জীবনেও কখনো সেখানে যাব না, যতক্ষণ তারা সেখানে থাকবে। অতএব, আপনি ও আপনার পালনকর্তাই যান এবং উভয়ে যুদ্ধ করে নিন। আমরা তো এখানেই বসলাম।
They said: "O Moses! while they remain there, never shall we be able to enter, to the end of time. Go thou, and thy Lord, and fight ye two, while we sit here (and watch)." |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ২৪) |
| 53 |
হে রসূল, তাদের জন্যে দুঃখ করবেন না, যারা দৌড়ে গিয়ে কুফরে পতিত হয়; যারা মুখে বলেঃ আমরা মুসলমান, অথচ তাদের অন্তর মুসলমান নয় এবং যারা ইহুদী; মিথ্যাবলার জন্যে তারা গুপ্তচর বৃত্তি করে। তারা অন্যদলের গুপ্তচর, যারা আপনার কাছে আসেনি। তারা বাক্যকে স্বস্থান থেকে পরিবর্তন করে। তারা বলেঃ যদি তোমরা এ নির্দেশ পাও, তবে কবুল করে নিও এবং যদি এ নির্দেশ না পাও, তবে বিরত থেকো। আল্লাহ যাকে পথভ্রষ্ট করতে চান, তার জন্যে আল্লাহর কাছে আপনি কিছু করতে পারবেন না। এরা এমনিই যে, আল্লাহ এদের অন্তরকে পবিত্র করতে চান না। তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে দুনিয়াতে লাঞ্ছনা এবং পরকালে বিরাট শাস্তি।
O Messenger! let not those grieve thee, who race each other into unbelief: (whether it be) among those who say "We believe" with their lips but whose hearts have no faith; or it be among the Jews,- men who will listen to any lie,- will listen even to others who have never so much as come to thee. They change the words from their (right) times and places: they say, "If ye are given this, take it, but if not, beware!" If any one's trial is intended by Allah, thou hast no authority in the least for him against Allah. For such - it is not Allah's will to purify their hearts. For them there is disgrace in this world, and in the Hereafter a heavy punishment. |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৪১) |
| 54 |
বস্তুতঃ যাদের অন্তরে রোগ রয়েছে, তাদেরকে আপনি দেখবেন, দৌড়ে গিয়ে তাদেরই মধ্যে প্রবেশ করে। তারা বলেঃ আমরা আশঙ্কা করি, পাছে না আমরা কোন দুর্ঘটনায় পতিত হই। অতএব, সেদিন দুরে নয়, যেদিন আল্লাহ তা’আলা বিজয় প্রকাশ করবেন অথবা নিজের পক্ষ থেকে কোন নির্দেশ দেবেন-ফলে তারা স্বীয় গোপন মনোভাবের জন্যে অনুতপ্ত হবে।
Those in whose hearts is a disease - thou seest how eagerly they run about amongst them, saying: "We do fear lest a change of fortune bring us disaster." Ah! perhaps Allah will give (thee) victory, or a decision according to His will. Then will they repent of the thoughts which they secretly harboured in their hearts. |

আয়াতঃ ৫২) |
| 55 |
মুসলমানরা বলবেঃ এরাই কি সেসব লোক, যারা আল্লাহর নামে প্রতিজ্ঞা করত যে, আমরা তোমাদের সাথে আছি? তাদের কৃতকর্মসমূহ বিফল হয়ে গেছে, ফলে তারা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়ে আছে।
And those who believe will say: "Are these the men who swore their strongest oaths by Allah, that they were with you?" All that they do will be in vain, and they will fall into (nothing but) ruin. |

বলুনঃ হে আহলে কিতাবগণ, আমাদের সাথে তোমাদের এছাড়া কি শত্রুতা যে, আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি আল্লাহর প্রতি, আমাদের উপর অবতীর্ণ গ্রন্থের প্রতি এবং পূর্বে অবতীর্ণ গ্রন্থের প্রতি। আর তোমাদের অধিকাংশই নাফরমান।
Say: "O people of the Book! Do ye disapprove of us for no other reason than that we believe in Allah, and the revelation that hath come to us and that which came before (us), and (perhaps) that most of you are rebellious and disobedient?" |

যখন তারা তোমাদের কাছে আসে তখন বলে দাওঃ আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি। অথচ তারা কুফর নিয়ে এসেছিল এবং কুফর নিয়েই প্রস্থান করেছে। তারা যা গোপন করত, আল্লাহ তা খুব জানেন।
When they come to thee, they say: "We believe": but in fact they enter with a mind against Faith, and they go out with the same but Allah knoweth fully all that they hide. |

আর তারা রসূলের প্রতি যা অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে, তা যখন শুনে, তখন আপনি তাদের চোখ অশ্রু সজল দেখতে পাবেন; এ কারণে যে, তারা সত্যকে চিনে নিয়েছে। তারা বলেঃ হে আমাদের প্রতি পালক, আমরা মুসলমান হয়ে গেলাম। অতএব, আমাদেরকেও মান্যকারীদের তালিকাভুক্ত করে নিন।
And when they listen to the revelation received by the Messenger, thou wilt see their eyes overflowing with tears, for they recognise the truth: they pray: "Our Lord! we believe; write us down among the witnesses. |

আমাদের কি ওযর থাকতে পারে যে, আমরা আল্লাহর প্রতি এবং যে সত্য আমাদের কাছে এসেছে, তৎপ্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করব না এবং এ আশা করবো না যে, আমদের প্রতিপালক আমাদেরকে সৎ লোকদের সাথে প্রবিষ্ট করবেন?
"What cause can we have not to believe in Allah and the truth which has come to us, seeing that we long for our Lord to admit us to the company of the righteous?" |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৮৪) |

যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয় যে, আল্লাহর নাযিলকৃত বিধান এবং রসূলের দিকে এস, তখন তারা বলে, আমাদের জন্যে তাই যথেষ্ট, যার উপর আমরা আমাদের বাপ-দাদাকে পেয়েছি। যদি তাদের বাপ দাদারা কোন জ্ঞান না রাখে এবং হেদায়েত প্রাপ্ত না হয় তবুও কি তারা তাই করবে?
When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed; come to the Messenger": They say: "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance? |

আয়াতঃ ১০৪) |

হে, মুমিনগণ, তোমাদের মধ্যে যখন কারও মৃত্যু উপস্থিত হয়, তখন ওছিয়ত করার সময় তোমাদের মধ্য থেকে ধর্মপরায়ন দুজনকে সাক্ষী রেখো। তোমরা সফরে থাকলে এবং সে অবস্থায় তোমাদের মৃত্যু উপস্থিত হলে তোমরা তোমাদের ছাড়াও দু ব্যক্তিকে সাক্ষী রেখো। যদি তোমাদের সন্দেহ হয়, তবে উভয়কে নামাযের পর থাকতে বলবে। অতঃপর উভয়েই আল্লাহর নামে কসম খাবে যে, আমরা এ কসমের বিনিময়ে কোন উপকার গ্রহণ করতে চাই না, যদিও কোন আত্নীয়ও হয় এবং আল্লাহর সাক্ষ্য আমরা গোপন করব না। এমতাবস্থায় কঠোর গোনাহগার হব।
O ye who believe! When death approaches any of you, (take) witnesses among yourselves when making bequests,- two just men of your own (brotherhood) or others from outside if ye are journeying through the earth, and the chance of death befalls you (thus). If ye doubt (their truth), detain them both after prayer, and let them both swear by Allah: "We wish not in this for any worldly gain, even though the (beneficiary) be our near relation: we shall hide not the evidence before Allah: if we do, then behold! the sin be upon us!" |

অতঃপর যদি জানা যায় যে, উভয় ওসি কোন গোনাহে জড়িত রয়েছে, তবে যাদের বিরুদ্ধে গোনাহ হয়েছিল, তাদের মধ্য থেকে মৃতু ব্যক্তির নিকটতম দু’ব্যক্তি তাদের স্থলাভিষিক্ত হবে। অতঃপর আল্লাহর নামে কসম খাবে যে, অবশ্যই আমাদের সাক্ষ্য তাদের সাক্ষ্যর চাইতে অধিক সত্য এবং আমরা সীমা অতিক্রম করিনি। এমতাবস্থায় আমরা অবশ্যই অত্যাচারী হব।
But if it gets known that these two were guilty of the sin (of perjury), let two others stand forth in their places,- nearest in kin from among those who claim a lawful right: let them swear by Allah: "We affirm that our witness is truer than that of those two, and that we have not trespassed (beyond the truth): if we did, behold! the wrong be upon us!" |

যেদিন আল্লাহ সব পয়গম্বরকে একত্রিত করবেন, অতঃপর বলবেন তোমরা কি উত্তর পেয়েছিলে? তাঁরা বলবেনঃ আমরা অবগত নই, আপনিই অদৃশ্য বিষয়ে মহাজ্ঞানী।
One day will Allah gather the messengers together, and ask: "What was the response ye received (from men to your teaching)?" They will say: "We have no knowledge: it is Thou Who knowest in full all that is hidden." |

আয়াতঃ ১০৯) |

আর যখন আমি হাওয়ারীদের মনে জাগ্রত করলাম যে, আমার প্রতি এবং আমার রসূলের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন কর, তখন তারা বলতে লাগল, আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলাম এবং আপনি সাক্ষী থাকুন যে, আমরা অনুগত্যশীল।
"And behold! I inspired the disciples to have faith in Me and Mine Messenger: they said, 'We have faith, and do thou bear witness that we bow to Allah as Muslims'". |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১১১) |
| 65 |
তারা বললঃ আমরা তা থেকে খেতে চাই; আমাদের অন্তর পরিতৃপ্ত হবে; আমরা জেনে নেব যে, আপনি সত্য বলেছেন এবং আমরা সাক্ষ্যদাতা হয়ে যাব।
They said: "We only wish to eat thereof and satisfy our hearts, and to know that thou hast indeed told us the truth; and that we ourselves may be witnesses to the miracle." |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১১৩) |
| 66 |
অতঃপর তাদের কোন অপরিচ্ছন্নতা থাকবে না; তবে এটুকুই যে তারা বলবে আমাদের প্রতিপালক আল্লাহর কসম, আমরা মুশরিক ছিলাম না।
There will then be (left) no subterfuge for them but to say: "By Allah our Lord, we were not those who joined gods with Allah." |

আয়াতঃ ২৩) |
| 67 |
আর আপনি যদি দেখেন, যখন তাদেরকে দোযখের উপর দাঁড় করানো হবে! তারা বলবেঃ কতই না ভাল হত, যদি আমরা পুনঃ প্রেরিত হতাম; তা হলে আমরা স্বীয় পালনকর্তার নিদর্শনসমূহে মিথ্যারোপ করতাম না এবং আমরা বিশ্বাসীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে যেতাম।
If thou couldst but see when they are confronted with the Fire! They will say: "Would that we were but sent back! Then would we not reject the signs of our Lord, but would be amongst those who believe!" |

আয়াতঃ ২৭) |
| 68 |
নিশ্চয় তারা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত, যারা আল্লাহর সাক্ষাৎকে মিথ্যা মনে করেছে। এমনকি, যখন কিয়ামত তাদের কাছে অকস্মাৎ এসে যাবে, তারা বলবেঃ হায় আফসোস, এর ব্যাপারে আমরা কতই না ক্রটি করেছি। তার স্বীয় বোঝা স্বীয় পৃষ্ঠে বহন করবে। শুনে রাখ, তারা যে বোঝা বহন করবে, তা নিকৃষ্টতর বোঝা।
Lost indeed are they who treat it as a falsehood that they must meet Allah,- until on a sudden the hour is on them, and they say: "Ah! woe unto us that we took no thought of it"; for they bear their burdens on their backs, and evil indeed are the burdens that they bear? |

আপনি বলুনঃ কে তোমাদেরকে স্থল ও জলের অন্ধকার থেকে উদ্ধার করেন, যখন তোমরা তাঁকে বিনীতভাবে ও গোপনে আহবান কর যে, যদি আপনি আমাদের কে এ থেকে উদ্ধার করে নেন, তবে আমরা অবশ্যই কৃতজ্ঞদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে যাব।
Say: "Who is it that delivereth you from the dark recesses of land and sea, when ye call upon Him in humility and silent terror: 'If He only delivers us from these (dangers), (we vow) we shall truly show our gratitude'?" |

আয়াতঃ ৬৩) |

আপনি বলে দিনঃ আমরা কি আল্লাহ ব্যতীত এমন বস্তুকে আহবান করব, যে আমাদের উপকার করতে পারে না এবং ক্ষতিও করতে পারে না এবং আমরা কি পশ্চাৎপদে ফিরে যাব, এরপর যে, আল্লাহ আমাদেরকে পথ প্রদর্শন করেছেন? ঐ ব্যক্তির মত, যাকে শয়তানরা বনভুমিতে বিপথগামী করে দিয়েছে-সে উদভ্রান্ত হয়ে ঘোরাফেরা করছে। তার সহচররা তাকে পথের দিকে ডেকে বলছেঃ আস, আমাদের কাছে। আপনি বলে দিনঃ নিশ্চয় আল্লাহর পথই সুপথ। আমরা আদিষ্ট হয়েছি যাতে স্বীয় পালনকর্তা আজ্ঞাবহ হয়ে যাই।
Say: "Shall we indeed call on others besides Allah,- things that can do us neither good nor harm,- and turn on our heels after receiving guidance from Allah? - like one whom the evil ones have made into a fool, wandering bewildered through the earth, his friends calling, come to us', (vainly) guiding him to the path." Say: "Allah's guidance is the (only) guidance, and we have been directed to submit ourselves to the Lord of the worlds;- |

আয়াতঃ ৭১) |
| 71 |
যখন তাদের কাছে কোন আয়াত পৌঁছে, তখন বলে, আমরা কখনই মানব না যে, পর্যন্ত না আমরাও তা প্রদত্ত হই, যা আল্লাহর রসূলগণ প্রদত্ত হয়েছেন। আল্লাহ এ বিষয়ে সুপারিজ্ঞাত যে, কোথায় স্বীয় পয়গাম প্রেরণ করতে হবে। যারা অপরাধ করছে, তারা অতিসত্বর আল্লাহর কাছে পৌছে লাঞ্ছনা ও কঠোর শাস্তি পাবে, তাদের চক্রান্তের কারণে।
When there comes to them a sign (from Allah), They say: "We shall not believe until we receive one (exactly) like those received by Allah's messengers." Allah knoweth best where (and how) to carry out His mission. Soon will the wicked be overtaken by humiliation before Allah, and a severe punishment, for all their plots. |

আয়াতঃ ১২৪) |
| 72 |
যেদিন আল্লাহ সবাইকে একত্রিত করবেন, হে জিন সম্প্রদায়, তোমরা মানুষদের মধ্যে অনেককে অনুগামী করে নিয়েছ। তাদের মানব বন্ধুরা বলবেঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমরা পরস্পরে পরস্পরের মাধ্যমে ফল লাভ করেছি। আপনি আমাদের জন্যে যে সময় নির্ধারণ করেছিলেন, আমরা তাতে উপনীত হয়েছি। আল্লাহ বলবেনঃ আগুন হল তোমাদের বাসস্থান। তথায় তোমরা চিরকাল অবস্থান করবে; কিন্তু যখন চাইবেন আল্লাহ। নিশ্চয় আপনার পালনকর্তা প্রজ্ঞাময়, মহাজ্ঞানী।
One day will He gather them all together, (and say): "O ye assembly of Jinns! Much (toll) did ye take of men." Their friends amongst men will say: "Our Lord! we made profit from each other: but (alas!) we reached our term - which thou didst appoint for us." He will say: "The Fire be your dwelling-place: you will dwell therein for ever, except as Allah willeth." for thy Lord is full of wisdom and knowledge. |

আয়াতঃ ১২৮) |
| 73 |
হে জ্বিন ও মানব সম্প্রদায়, তোমাদের কাছে কি তোমাদের মধ্য থেকে পয়গম্বরগণ আগমন করেনি? যাঁরা তোমাদেরকে আমার বিধানাবলী বর্ণনা করতেন এবং তোমাদেরকে আজকের এ দিনের সাক্ষাতের ভীতি প্রদর্শন করতেন? তারা বলবেঃ আমরা স্বীয় গোনাহ স্বীকার করে নিলাম। পার্থিব জীবন তাদেরকে প্রতারিত করেছে। তারা নিজেদের বিরুদ্ধে স্বীকার করে নিয়েছে যে, তারা কাফের ছিল।
"O ye assembly of Jinns and men! came there not unto you messengers from amongst you, setting forth unto you My signs, and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say: "We bear witness against ourselves." It was the life of this world that deceived them. So against themselves will they bear witness that they rejected Faith. |

আয়াতঃ ১৩০) |
| 74 |
তারা বলেঃ এসব চতুষ্পদ জন্তু ও শস্যক্ষেত্র নিষিদ্ধ। আমরা যাকে ইচছা করি, সে ছাড়া এগুলো কেউ খেতে পারবে না, তাদের ধারণা অনুসারে। আর কিছুসংখ্যক চতুষ্পদ জন্তুর পিঠে আরোহন হারাম করা হয়েছে এবং কিছু সংখ্যক চতুষ্পদ জন্তুর উপর তারা ভ্রান্ত ধারনা বশতঃ আল্লাহর নাম উচ্চারণ করে না, তাদের মনগড়া বুলির কারণে, অচিরেই তিনি তাদের কে শাস্তি দিবেন।
And they say that such and such cattle and crops are taboo, and none should eat of them except those whom - so they say - We wish; further, there are cattle forbidden to yoke or burden, and cattle on which, (at slaughter), the name of Allah is not pronounced; - inventions against Allah's name: soon will He requite them for their inventions. |

| 75 |
এখন মুশরেকরা বলবেঃ যদি আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করতেন, তবে না আমরা শিরক করতাম, না আমাদের বাপ দাদারা এবং না আমরা কোন বস্তুকে হারাম করতাম। এমনিভাবে তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা মিথ্যারোপ করেছে, এমন কি তারা আমার শাস্তি আস্বাদন করেছে। আপনি বলুনঃ তোমাদের কাছে কি কোন প্রমাণ আছে যা আমাদেরকে দেখাতে পার। তোমরা শুধুমাত্র আন্দাজের অনুসরণ কর এবং তোমরা শুধু অনুমান করে কথা বল।
Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos." So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie." |

আয়াতঃ ১৪৮) |

এ জন্যে যে, কখনও তোমরা বলতে শুরু করঃ গ্রন্থ তো কেবল আমাদের পূর্ববর্তী দু'সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতিই অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে এবং আমরা সেগুলোর পাঠ ও পঠন সম্পর্কে কিছুই জানতাম না।
Lest ye should say: "The Book was sent down to two Peoples before us, and for our part, we remained unacquainted with all that they learned by assiduous study:" |

আয়াতঃ ১৫৬) |
| 77 |
কিংবা বলতে শুরু করঃ যদি আমাদের প্রতি কোন গ্রন্থ অবতীর্ণ হত, আমরা এদের চাইতে অধিক পথপ্রাপ্ত হতাম। অতএব, তোমাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের কাছে সুষ্পষ্ট প্রমাণ, হেদায়েত ও রহমত এসে গেছে। অতঃপর সে ব্যক্তির চাইতে অধিক অনাচারী কে হবে, যে আল্লাহর আয়াত সমূহকে মিথ্যা বলে এবং গা বাঁচিয়ে চলে। অতি সত্ত্বর আমি তাদেরকে শাস্তি দেব। যারা আমার আয়াত সমূহ থেকে গা বাঁচিয়ে চলে-জঘন্য শাস্তি তাদের গা বাঁচানোর কারণে।
Or lest ye should say: "If the Book had only been sent down to us, we should have followed its guidance better than they." Now then hath come unto you a clear (sign) from your Lord,- and a guide and a mercy: then who could do more wrong than one who rejecteth Allah's signs, and turneth away therefrom? In good time shall We requite those who turn away from Our signs, with a dreadful penalty, for their turning away. |

আয়াতঃ ১৫৭) |
| 78 |
তারা শুধু এ বিষয়ের দিকে চেয়ে আছে যে, তাদের কাছে ফেরেশতা আগমন করবে কিংবা আপনার পালনকর্তা আগমন করবেন অথবা আপনার পালনকর্তার কোন নির্দেশ আসবে। যেদিন আপনার পালনকর্তার কোন নিদর্শন আসবে, সেদিন এমন কোন ব্যক্তির বিশ্বাস স্থাপন তার জন্যে ফলপ্রসূ হবে না, যে পূর্ব থেকে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেনি কিংবা স্বীয় বিশ্বাস অনুযায়ী কোনরূপ সৎকর্ম করেনি। আপনি বলে দিনঃ তোমরা পথের দিকে চেয়ে থাক, আমরাও পথে দিকে তাকিয়ে রইলাম।
Are they waiting to see if the angels come to them, or thy Lord (Himself), or certain of the signs of thy Lord! the day that certain of the signs of thy Lord do come, no good will it do to a soul to believe in them then if it believed not before nor earned righteousness through its faith. Say: "Wait ye: we too are waiting." |
(আল আনআম:
আয়াতঃ ১৫৮) |
| 79 |
অনন্তর যখন তাদের কাছে আমার আযাব উপস্থিত হয়, তখন তাদের কথা এই ছিল যে, তারা বললঃ নিশ্চয় আমরা অত্যাচারী ছিলাম।
When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ৫) |
| 80 |
তারা উভয়ে বললঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা আমরা নিজেদের প্রতি জুলম করেছি। যদি আপনি আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা না করেন এবং আমাদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ না করেন, তবে আমরা অবশ্যই অবশ্যই ধ্বংস হয়ে যাব।
They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If thou forgive us not and bestow not upon us Thy Mercy, we shall certainly be lost." |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ২৩) |
| 81 |
তারা যখন কোন মন্দ কাজ করে, তখন বলে আমরা বাপ-দাদাকে এমনি করতে দেখেছি এবং আল্লাহও আমাদেরকে এ নির্দেশই দিয়েছেন। আল্লাহ মন্দকাজের আদেশ দেন না। এমন কথা আল্লাহর প্রতি কেন আরোপ কর, যা তোমরা জান না।
When they do aught that is shameful, they say: "We found our fathers doing so"; and "Allah commanded us thus": Say: "Nay, Allah never commands what is shameful: do ye say of Allah what ye know not?" |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ২৮) |
| 82 |
তাদের অন্তরে যা কিছু দুঃখ ছিল, আমি তা বের করে দেব। তাদের তলদেশ দিয়ে নির্ঝরণী প্রবাহিত হবে। তারা বলবেঃ আল্লাহ শোকর, যিনি আমাদেরকে এ পর্যন্ত পৌছিয়েছেন। আমরা কখনও পথ পেতাম না, যদি আল্লাহ আমাদেরকে পথ প্রদর্শন না করতেন। আমাদের প্রতিপালকের রসূল আমাদের কাছে সত্যকথা নিয়ে এসেছিলেন। আওয়াজ আসবেঃ এটি জান্নাত। তোমরা এর উত্তরাধিকারী হলে তোমাদের কর্মের প্রতিদানে।
And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury;- beneath them will be rivers flowing;- and they shall say: "Praise be to Allah, who hath guided us to this (felicity): never could we have found guidance, had it not been for the guidance of Allah: indeed it was the truth, that the messengers of our Lord brought unto us." And they shall hear the cry: "Behold! the garden before you! Ye have been made its inheritors, for your deeds (of righteousness)." |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ৪৩) |
| 83 |
জান্নাতীরা দোযখীদেরকে ডেকে বলবেঃ আমাদের সাথে আমাদের প্রতিপালক যে ওয়াদা করেছিলেন, তা আমরা সত্য পেয়েছি? অতএব, তোমরাও কি তোমাদের প্রতিপালকের ওয়াদা সত্য পেয়েছ? তারা বলবেঃ হ্যাঁ। অতঃপর একজন ঘোষক উভয়ের মাঝখানে ঘোষণা করবেঃ আল্লাহর অভিসম্পাত জালেমদের উপর।
The Companions of the Garden will call out to the Companions of the Fire: "We have indeed found the promises of our Lord to us true: Have you also found Your Lord's promises true?" They shall say, "Yes"; but a crier shall proclaim between them: "The curse of Allah is on the wrong-doers;- |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ৪৪) |

তারা কি এখন এ অপেক্ষায়ই আছে যে, এর বিষয়বস্তু প্রকাশিত হোক? যেদিন এর বিষয়বস্তু প্রকাশিত হবে, সেদিন পূর্বে যারা একে ভূলে গিয়েছিল, তারা বলবেঃ বাস্তবিকই আমাদের প্রতিপালকের পয়গম্বরগণ সত্যসহ আগমন করেছিলেন। অতএব, আমাদের জন্যে কোন সুপারিশকারী আছে কি যে, সুপারিশ করবে অথবা আমাদেরকে পুনঃ প্রেরণ করা হলে আমরা পূর্বে যা করতাম তার বিপরীত কাজ করে আসতাম। নিশ্চয় তারা নিজেদেরকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত করেছে। তারা মনগড়া যা বলত, তা উধাও হয়ে যাবে।
Do they just wait for the final fulfilment of the event? On the day the event is finally fulfilled, those who disregarded it before will say: "The messengers of our Lord did indeed bring true (tidings). Have we no intercessors now to intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back? then should we behave differently from our behaviour in the past." In fact they will have lost their souls, and the things they invented will leave them in the lurch. |

তার সম্প্রদায়ের সর্দাররা বললঃ আমরা তোমাকে প্রকাশ্য পথভ্রষ্টতার মাঝে দেখতে পাচ্ছি।
The leaders of his people said: "Ah! we see thee evidently wandering (in mind)." |

তারা স্প্রদায়ের সর্দররা বললঃ আমরা তোমাকে নির্বোধ দেখতে পাচ্ছি এবং আমরা তোমাকে মিথ্যাবাদী মনে করি।
The leaders of the Unbelievers among his people said: "Ah! we see thou art an imbecile!" and "We think thou art a liar!" |

তারা বললঃ তুমি কি আমাদের কাছে এজন্যে এসেছ যে আমরা এক আল্লাহর এবাদত করি এবং আমাদের বাপ-দাদা যাদের পূজা করত, তাদেরকে ছেড়ে দেই? অতএব নিয়ে আস আমাদের কাছে যাদ্দ্বারা আমাদেরকে ভয় দেখাচ্ছ, যদি তুমি সত্যবাদী হও।
They said: "Comest thou to us, that we may worship Allah alone, and give up the cult of our fathers? bring us what thou threatenest us with, if so be that thou tellest the truth!" |

তার সম্প্রদায়ের দাম্ভিক সর্দাররা ঈমানদার দারিদ্রদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস করলঃ তোমরা কি বিশ্বাস কর যে সালেহ কে তার পালনকর্তা প্রেরণ করেছেন; তারা বলল আমরা তো তার আনীত বিষয়ের প্রতি বিশ্বাসী।
The leaders of the arrogant party among his people said to those who were reckoned powerless - those among them who believed: "know ye indeed that Salih is a messenger from his Lord?" They said: "We do indeed believe in the revelation which hath been sent through him." |

দাম্ভিকরা বললঃ তোমরা যে বিষয়ে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছ, আমরা তাতে অস্বীকৃত।
The Arrogant party said: "For our part, we reject what ye believe in." |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ৭৬) |

তার সম্প্রদায়ের দাম্ভিক সর্দাররা বললঃ হে শোয়ায়েব, আমরা অবশ্যই তোমাকে এবং তোমার সাথে বিশ্বাস স্থাপনকারীদেরকে শহর থেকে বের করে দেব অথবা তোমরা আমাদের ধর্মে প্রত্যাবর্তন করবে। শোয়ায়েব বললঃ আমরা অপছন্দ করলেও কি ?
The leaders, the arrogant party among his people, said: "O Shu'aib! we shall certainly drive thee out of our city - (thee) and those who believe with thee; or else ye (thou and they) shall have to return to our ways and religion." He said: "What! even though we do detest (them)? |

আয়াতঃ ৮৮) |

আমরা আল্লাহর প্রতি মিথ্যা অপবাদকারী হয়ে যাব যদি আমরা তোমাদের ধর্মে প্রত্যাবর্তন করি, অথচ তিনি আমাদেরকে এ থেকে মুক্তি দিয়েছেন। আমাদের কাজ নয় এ ধর্মে প্রত্যাবর্তন করা, কিন্তু আমাদের প্রতি পালক আল্লাহ যদি চান। আমাদের প্রতিপালক প্রত্যেক বস্তুকে স্বীয় জ্ঞান দ্বারা বেষ্টন করে আছেন। আল্লাহর প্রতিই আমরা ভরসা করেছি। হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক আমাদের ও আমাদের সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে ফয়সালা করে ছিল যথার্থ ফয়সালা। আপনিই শ্রেষ্টতম ফসলা ফয়সালাকারী।
"We should indeed invent a lie against Allah, if we returned to your ways after Allah hath rescued us therefrom; nor could we by any manner of means return thereto unless it be as in the will and plan of Allah, Our Lord. Our Lord can reach out to the utmost recesses of things by His knowledge. In the Allah is our trust. our Lord! decide Thou between us and our people in truth, for Thou art the best to decide." |

বস্তুতঃ যাদুকররা এসে ফেরাউনের কাছে উপস্থিত হল। তারা বলল, আমাদের জন্যে কি কোন পারিশ্রমিক নির্ধারিত আছে, যদি আমরা জয়লাভ করি?
So there came the sorcerers to Pharaoh: They said, "of course we shall have a (suitable) reward if we win!" |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ১১৩) |

তারা বলল, হে মূসা! হয় তুমি নিক্ষেপ কর অথবা আমরা নিক্ষেপ করছি।
They said: "O Moses! wilt thou throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?" |

বলল, আমরা ঈমান আনছি মহা বিশ্বের পরওয়ারদেগারের প্রতি।
Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,- |

বস্তুতঃ আমাদের সাথে তোমার শত্রুতা তো এ কারণেই যে, আমরা ঈমান এনেছি আমাদের পরওয়ারদেগারের নিদর্শনসমূহের প্রতি যখন তা আমাদের নিকট পৌঁছেছে। হে আমাদের পরওয়ারদেগার আমাদের জন্য ধৈর্য্যের দ্বার খুলে দাও এবং আমাদেরকে মুসলমান হিসাবে মৃত্যু দান কর।
"But thou dost wreak thy vengeance on us simply because we believed in the Signs of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience and constancy, and take our souls unto thee as Muslims (who bow to thy will)! |

ফেরাউনের সম্প্রদায়ের র্সদাররা বলল, তুমি কি এমনি ছেড়ে দেবে মূসা ও তার সম্প্রদায়কে। দেশময় হৈ-চৈ করার জন্য এবং তোমাকে ও তোমার দেব-দেবীকে বাতিল করে দেবার জন্য। সে বলল, আমি এখনি হত্যা করব তাদের পুত্র সন্তানদিগকে; আর জীবিত রাখব মেয়েদেরকে। বস্তুতঃ আমরা তাদের উপর প্রবল।
Said the chiefs of Pharaoh's people: "Wilt thou leave Moses and his people, to spread mischief in the land, and to abandon thee and thy gods?" He said: "Their male children will we slay; (only) their females will we save alive; and we have over them (power) irresistible." |

আয়াতঃ ১২৭) |

তারা আরও বলতে লাগল, আমাদের উপর জাদু করার জন্য তুমি যে নিদর্শনই নিয়ে আস না কেন আমরা কিন্তু তোমার উপর ঈমান আনছি না।
They said (to Moses): "Whatever be the Signs thou bringest, to work therewith thy sorcery on us, we shall never believe in thee. |

আয়াতঃ ১৩২) |
| 98 |
আর তাদের উপর যখন কোন আযাব পড়ে তখন বলে, হে মূসা আমাদের জন্য তোমার পরওয়ারদেগারের নিকট সে বিষয়ে দোয়া কর যা তিনি তোমার সাথে ওয়াদা করে রেখেছেন। যদি তুমি আমাদের উপর থেকে এ আযাব সরিয়ে দাও, তবে অবশ্যই আমরা ঈমান আনব তোমার উপর এবং তোমার সাথে বনী-ইসরাঈলদেরকে যেতে দেব।
Every time the penalty fell on them, they said: "O Moses! on your behalf call on thy Lord in virtue of his promise to thee: If thou wilt remove the penalty from us, we shall truly believe in thee, and we shall send away the Children of Israel with thee." |

আয়াতঃ ১৩৪) |

অতঃপর যখন তারা অনুতপ্ত হল এবং বুঝতে পারল যে, আমরা নিশ্চিতই গোমরাহ হয়ে পড়েছি, তখন বলতে লাগল, আমাদের প্রতি যদি আমাদের পরওয়ারদেগার করুণা না করেন, তবে অবশ্যই আমরা ধবংস হয়ে যাব।
When they repented, and saw that they had erred, they said: "If our Lord have not mercy upon us and forgive us, we shall indeed be of those who perish." |

আয়াতঃ ১৪৯) |

আর পৃথিবীতে এবং আখেরাতে আমাদের জন্য কল্যাণ লিখে দাও। আমরা তোমার দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করছি। আল্লাহ তা’আলা বললেন, আমার আযাব তারই উপর পরিব্যাপ্ত। সুতরাং তা তাদের জন্য লিখে দেব যারা ভয় রাখে, যাকাত দান করে এবং যারা আমার আয়তসমুহের উপর বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে।
"And ordain for us that which is good, in this life and in the Hereafter: for we have turned unto Thee." He said: "With My punishment I visit whom I will; but My mercy extendeth to all things. That (mercy) I shall ordain for those who do right, and practise regular charity, and those who believe in Our signs;- |

আর যখন তোমার পালনকর্তা বনী আদমের পৃষ্টদেশ থেকে বের করলেন তাদের সন্তানদেরকে এবং নিজের উপর তাদেরকে প্রতিজ্ঞা করালেন, আমি কি তোমাদের পালনকর্তা নই ? তারা বলল, অবশ্যই, আমরা অঙ্গীকার করছি। আবার না কেয়ামতের দিন বলতে শুরু কর যে, এ বিষয়টি আমাদের জানা ছিল না।
When thy Lord drew forth from the Children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves, (saying): "Am I not your Lord (who cherishes and sustains you)?"- They said: "Yea! We do testify!" (This), lest ye should say on the Day of Judgment: "Of this we were never mindful": |

অথবা বলতে শুরু কর যে, অংশীদারিত্বের প্রথা তো আমাদের বাপ-দাদারা উদ্ভাবন করেছিল আমাদের পূর্বেই। আর আমরা হলাম তাদের পশ্চাৎবর্তী সন্তান-সন্ততি। তাহলে কি সে কর্মের জন্য আমাদেরকে ধ্বংস করবেন, যা পথভ্রষ্টরা করেছে?
Or lest ye should say: "Our fathers before us may have taken false gods, but we are (their) descendants after them: wilt Thou then destroy us because of the deeds of men who were futile?" |

আয়াতঃ ১৭৩) |

তিনিই সে সত্তা যিনি তোমাদিগকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন একটি মাত্র সত্তা থেকে; আর তার থেকেই তৈরী করেছেন তার জোড়া, যাতে তার কাছে স্বস্তি পেতে পারে। অতঃপর পুরুষ যখন নারীকে আবৃত করল, তখন, সে গর্ভবতী হল। অতি হালকা গর্ভ। সে তাই নিয়ে চলাফেরা করতে থাকল। তারপর যখন বোঝা হয়ে গেল, তখন উভয়েই আল্লাহকে ডাকল যিনি তাদের পালনকর্তা যে, তুমি যদি আমাদিগকে সুস্থ ও ভাল দান কর তবে আমরা তোমার শুকরিয়া আদায় করব।
It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed). When she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah their Lord, (saying): "If Thou givest us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful." |

আর তাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ো না, যারা বলে যে, আমরা শুনেছি, অথচ তারা শোনেনা।
Nor be like those who say, "We hear," but listen not: |
(আল-আনফাল:
আয়াতঃ ২১) |

আর কেউ যখন তাদের নিকট আমার আয়াতসমূহ পাঠ করে তবে বলে, আমরা শুনেছি, ইচ্ছা করলে আমরাও এমন বলতে পারি; এ তো পূর্ববর্তী ইতিকথা ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়।
When Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: "We have heard this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are nothing but tales of the ancients." |
(আল-আনফাল:
আয়াতঃ ৩১) |

আপনার কোন কল্যাণ হলে তারা মন্দবোধ করে এবং কোন বিপদ উপস্থিত হলে তারা বলে, আমরা পূর্ব থেকেই নিজেদের কাজ সামলে নিয়েছি এবং ফিরে যায় উল্লসিত মনে।
If good befalls thee, it grieves them; but if a misfortune befalls thee, they say, "We took indeed our precautions beforehand," and they turn away rejoicing. |

আয়াতঃ ৫০) |

আপনি বলুন, তোমরা তো তোমাদের জন্যে দুটি কল্যাণের একটি প্রত্যাশা কর; আর আমরা প্রত্যাশায় আছি তোমাদের জন্যে যে, আল্লাহ তোমাদের আযাব দান করুন নিজের পক্ষ থেকে অথবা আমাদের হস্তে। সুতরাং তোমরা অপেক্ষা কর, আমরাও তোমাদের সাথে অপেক্ষমাণ।
Say: "Can you expect for us (any fate) other than one of two glorious things- (Martyrdom or victory)? But we can expect for you either that Allah will send his punishment from Himself, or by our hands. So wait (expectant); we too will wait with you." |
(আত তাওবাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৫২) |
| 108 |
কতই না ভাল হত, যদি তারা সন্তুষ্ট হত আল্লাহ ও তার রসূলের উপর এবং বলত, আল্লাহই আমাদের জন্যে যথেষ্ট, আল্লাহ আমাদের দেবেন নিজ করুণায় এবং তাঁর রসূলও, আমরা শুধু আল্লাহকেই কামনা করি।
If only they had been content with what Allah and His Messenger gave them, and had said, "Sufficient unto us is Allah! Allah and His Messenger will soon give us of His bounty: to Allah do we turn our hopes!" (that would have been the right course). |

আয়াতঃ ৫৯) |
| 109 |
আর যদি তুমি তাদের কাছে জিজ্ঞেস কর, তবে তারা বলবে, আমরা তো কথার কথা বলছিলাম এবং কৌতুক করছিলাম। আপনি বলুন, তোমরা কি আল্লাহর সাথে, তাঁর হুকুম আহকামের সাথে এবং তাঁর রসূলের সাথে ঠাট্টা করছিলে?
If thou dost question them, they declare (with emphasis): "We were only talking idly and in play." Say: "Was it at Allah, and His Signs, and His Messenger, that ye were mocking?" |
(আত তাওবাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৬৫) |

তারা কসম খায় যে, আমরা বলিনি, অথচ নিঃসন্দেহে তারা বলেছে কুফরী বাক্য এবং মুসলমান হবার পর অস্বীকৃতিজ্ঞাপনকারী হয়েছে। আর তারা কামনা করেছিল এমন বস্তুর যা তারা প্রাপ্ত হয়নি। আর এসব তারই পরিণতি ছিল যে, আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূল তাদেরকে সম্পদশালী করে দিয়েছিলেন নিজের অনুগ্রহের মাধ্যমে। বস্তুতঃ এরা যদি তওবা করে নেয়, তবে তাদের জন্য মঙ্গল। আর যদি তা না মানে, তবে তাদের কে আযাব দেবেন আল্লাহ তা’আলা, বেদনাদায়ক আযাব দুনিয়া ও আখেরাতে। অতএব, বিশ্বচরাচরে তাদের জন্য কোন সাহায্যকারী-সমর্থক নেই।
They swear by Allah that they said nothing (evil), but indeed they uttered blasphemy, and they did it after accepting Islam; and they meditated a plot which they were unable to carry out: this revenge of theirs was (their) only return for the bounty with which Allah and His Messenger had enriched them! If they repent, it will be best for them; but if they turn back (to their evil ways), Allah will punish them with a grievous penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: They shall have none on earth to protect or help them. |

আয়াতঃ ৭৪) |

তাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ রয়েছে যারা আল্লাহ তা’আলার সাথে ওয়াদা করেছিল যে, তিনি যদি আমাদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ দান করেন, তবে অবশ্যই আমরা ব্যয় করব এবং সৎকর্মীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে থাকব।
Amongst them are men who made a covenant with Allah, that if He bestowed on them of His bounty, they would give (largely) in charity, and be truly amongst those who are righteous. |

আর যখন নাযিল হয় কোন সূরা যে, তোমরা ঈমান আন আল্লাহর উপর, তাঁর রসূলের সাথে একাত্ন হয়ে; তখন বিদায় কামনা করে তাদের সামর্থ?476;ান লোকেরা এবং বলে আমাদের অব্যাহতি দিন, যাতে আমরা (নিস্ক্রিয়ভাবে) বসে থাকা লোকদের সাথে থেকে যেতে পারি।
When a Sura comes down, enjoining them to believe in Allah and to strive and fight along with His Messenger, those with wealth and influence among them ask thee for exemption, and say: "Leave us (behind): we would be with those who sit (at home)." |

আয়াতঃ ৮৬) |
| 113 |
আর যারা নির্মাণ করেছে মসজিদ জিদের বশে এবং কুফরীর তাড়নায় মুমিনদের মধ্যে বিভেদ সৃস্টির উদ্দেশ্যে এবং ঐ লোকের জন্য ঘাটি স্বরূপ যে পূর্ব থেকে আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূলের সাথে যুদ্ধ করে আসছে, আর তারা অবশ্যই শপথ করবে যে, আমরা কেবল কল্যাণই চেয়েছি। পক্ষান্তরে আল্লাহ সাক্ষী যে, তারা সবাই মিথ্যুক।
And there are those who put up a mosque by way of mischief and infidelity - to disunite the Believers - and in preparation for one who warred against Allah and His Messenger aforetime. They will indeed swear that their intention is nothing but good; But Allah doth declare that they are certainly liars. |

আয়াতঃ ১০৭) |
| 114 |
তিনিই তোমাদের ভ্রমন করান স্থলে ও সাগরে। এমনকি যখন তোমরা নৌকাসমূহে আরোহণ করলে আর তা লোকজনকে অনুকূল হাওয়ায় বয়ে নিয়ে চলল এবং তাতে তারা আনন্দিত হল, নৌকাগুলোর উপর এল তীব্র বাতাস, আর সর্বদিক থেকে সেগুলোর উপর ঢেউ আসতে লাগল এবং তারা জানতে পারল যে, তারা অবরুদ্ধ হয়ে পড়েছে, তখন ডাকতে লাগল আল্লাহকে তাঁর এবাদতে নিঃস্বার্থ হয়ে যদি তুমি আমাদেরকে এ বিপদ থেকে উদ্ধার করে তোল, তাহলে নিঃসন্দেহে আমরা কৃতজ্ঞ থাকব।
He it is Who enableth you to traverse through land and sea; so that ye even board ships;- they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they rejoice thereat; then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think they are being overwhelmed: they cry unto Allah, sincerely offering (their) duty unto Him saying, "If thou dost deliver us from this, we shall truly show our gratitude!" |
(ইউনুস:
আয়াতঃ ২২) |
| 115 |
বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ আমাদের ও তোমাদের মাঝে সাক্ষী হিসাবে যথেষ্ট। আমরা তোমাদের বন্দেগী সম্পর্কে জানতাম না।
"Enough is Allah for a witness between us and you: we certainly knew nothing of your worship of us!" |
(ইউনুস:
আয়াতঃ ২৯) |

তারা বলল, তুমি কি আমাদেরকে সে পথ থেকে ফিরিয়ে দিতে এসেছ যাতে আমরা পেয়েছি আমাদের বাপ-দাদাদেরকে? আর যাতে তোমরা দুইজন এদেশের সর্দারী পেয়ে যেতে পার? আমরা তোমাদেরকে কিছুতেই মানব না।
They said: "Hast thou come to us to turn us away from the ways we found our fathers following,- in order that thou and thy brother may have greatness in the land? But not we shall believe in you!" |
(ইউনুস:
আয়াতঃ ৭৮) |

তখন তারা বলল, আমরা আল্লাহর উপর ভরসা করেছি। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমাদের উপর এ জালেম কওমের শক্তি পরীক্ষা করিও না।
They said: "In Allah do we put out trust. Our Lord! make us not a trial for those who practise oppression; |
(ইউনুস:
আয়াতঃ ৮৫) |

তখন তাঁর কওমের কাফের প্রধানরা বলল আমরা তো আপনাকে আমাদের মত একজন মানুষ ব্যতীত আর কিছু মনে করি না; আর আমাদের মধ্যে যারা ইতর ও স্থুল-বুদ্ধিসম্পন্ন তারা ব্যতীত কাউকে তো আপনার আনুগত্য করতে দেখি না এবং আমাদের উপর আপনাদের কেন প্রাধান্য দেখি না, বরং আপনারা সবাই মিথ্যাবাদী বলে আমারা মনে করি।
But the chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "We see (in) thee nothing but a man like ourselves: Nor do we see that any follow thee but the meanest among us, in judgment immature: Nor do we see in you (all) any merit above us: in fact we think ye are liars!" |

আয়াতঃ ২৭) |

তিনি নৌকা তৈরী করতে লাগলেন, আর তাঁর কওমের নেতৃস্থানীয় ব্যক্তিরা যখন পার্শ্ব দিয়ে যেত, তখন তাঁকে বিদ্রুপ করত। তিনি বললেন, তোমরা যদি আমাদের উপহাস করে থাক, তবে তোমরা যেমন উপহাস করছ আমরাও তদ্রুপ তোমাদের উপহাস করছি।
Forthwith he (starts) constructing the Ark: Every time that the chiefs of his people passed by him, they threw ridicule on him. He said: "If ye ridicule us now, we (in our turn) can look down on you with ridicule likewise! |

আয়াতঃ ৩৮) |

তারা বলল-হে হুদ, তুমি আমাদের কাছে কোন প্রমাণ নিয়ে আস নাই, আমরা তোমার কথায় আমাদের দেব-দেবীদের বর্জন করতে পারি না আর আমরা তোমার প্রতি ঈমান আনয়নকারীও নই।
They said: "O Hud! No Clear (Sign) that hast thou brought us, and we are not the ones to desert our gods on thy word! Nor shall we believe in thee! |
(হুদ:
আয়াতঃ ৫৩) |

বরং আমরাও তো বলি যে, আমাদের কোন দেবতা তোমার উপরে শোচনীয় ভূত চাপিয়ে দিয়েছে। হুদ বললেন-আমি আল্লাহকে সাক্ষী করেছি আর তোমাও সাক্ষী থাক যে, আমার কোন সম্পর্ক নাই তাঁদের সাথে যাদের কে তোমরা শরিক করছ;
"We say nothing but that (perhaps) some of our gods may have seized thee with imbecility." He said: "I call Allah to witness, and do ye bear witness, that I am free from the sin of ascribing, to Him, |

কিন্তু যখন দেখলেন যে, আহার্য্যের দিকে তাদের হস্ত প্রসারিত হচ্ছে না, তখন তিনি সন্ধিগ্ধ হলেন এবং মনে মনে তাঁদের সম্পর্কে ভয় অনুভব করতে লাগলেন। তারা বলল-ভয় পাবেন না। আমরা লূতের কওমের প্রতি প্রেরিত হয়েছি।
But when he saw their hands went not towards the (meal), he felt some mistrust of them, and conceived a fear of them. They said: "Fear not: We have been sent against the people of Lut." |

তারা বলল ু তুমি তো জানই, তোমার কন্যাদের নিয়ে আমাদের কোন গরজ নেই। আর আমরা কি চাই, তাও তুমি অবশ্যই জান।
They said: "Well dost thou know we have no need of thy daughters: indeed thou knowest quite well what we want!" |

মেহমান ফেরেশতাগন বলল-হে লূত (আঃ) আমরা তোমাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ হতে প্রেরিত ফেরেশতা। এরা কখনো তোমার দিকে পৌঁছাতে পারবে না। ব্যস তুমি কিছুটা রাত থাকতে থাকতে নিজের লোকজন নিয়ে বাইরে চলে যাও। আর তোমাদের কেউ যেন পিছনে ফিরে না তাকায়। কিন্তু তোমার স্ত্রী নিশ্চয় তার উপরও তা আপতিত হবে, যা ওদের উপর আপতিত হবে। ভোর বেলাই তাদের প্রতিশ্রুতির সময়, ভোর কি খুব নিকটে নয়?
(The Messengers) said: "O Lut! We are Messengers from thy Lord! By no means shall they reach thee! now travel with thy family while yet a part of the night remains, and let not any of you look back: but thy wife (will remain behind): To her will happen what happens to the people. Morning is their time appointed: Is not the morning nigh?" |

তারা বলল-হে শোয়ায়েব (আঃ) আপনার নামায কি আপনাকে ইহাই শিক্ষা দেয় যে, আমরা ঐসব উপাস্যদেরকে পরিত্যাগ করব আমাদের বাপ-দাদারা যাদের উপাসনা করত? অথবা আমাদের ধন-সম্পদে ইচ্ছামত যা কিছু করে থাকি, তা ছেড়ে দেব? আপনি তো একজন খাস মহৎ ব্যক্তি ও সৎপথের পথিক।
They said: "O Shu'aib! Does thy (religion of) prayer command thee that we leave off the worship which our fathers practised, or that we leave off doing what we like with our property? truly, thou art the one that forbeareth with faults and is right-minded!" |

তারা বলল-হে শোয়ায়েব (আঃ) আপনি যা বলেছেন তার অনেক কথাই আমরা বুঝি নাই, আমারা তো আপনাকে আমাদের মধ্যে দূর্বল ব্যক্তি রূপে মনে করি। আপনার ভাই বন্ধুরা না থাকলে আমরা আপনাকে প্রস্তরাঘাতে হত্যা করতাম। আমাদের দৃষ্টিতে আপনি কোন মর্যাদাবান ব্যক্তি নন।
They said: "O Shu'aib! much of what thou sayest we do not understand! In fact among us we see that thou hast no strength! Were it not for thy family, we should certainly have stoned thee! for thou hast among us no great position!" |

আর যারা ঈমান আনে না, তাদেরকে বলে দাও যে, তোমরা নিজ নিজ অবস্থায় কাজ করে যাও আমরাও কাজ করে যাই।
Say to those who do not believe: "Do what ever ye can: We shall do our part; |

এবং তোমরাও অপেক্ষা করে থাক, আমরাও অপেক্ষায় রইলাম।
"And wait ye! We too shall wait." |

যখন তারা বললঃ অবশ্যই ইউসুফ ও তাঁর ভাই আমাদের পিতার কাছে আমাদের চাইতে অধিক প্রিয় অথচ আমরা একটা সংহত শক্তি বিশেষ। নিশ্চয় আমাদের পিতা স্পষ্ট ভ্রান্তিতে রয়েছেন।
They said: "Truly Joseph and his brother are loved more by our father than we: But we are a goodly body! really our father is obviously wandering (in his mind)! |

তারা বললঃ পিতাঃ ব্যাপার কি, আপনি ইউসুফের ব্যাপারে আমাদেরকে বিশ্বাস করেন না ? আমরা তো তার হিতাকাংখী।
They said: "O our father! why dost thou not trust us with Joseph,- seeing we are indeed his sincere well-wishers? |

আগামীকাল তাকে আমাদের সাথে প্রেরণ করুন-তৃপ্তিসহ খাবে এবং খেলাধুলা করবে এবং আমরা অবশ্যই তার রক্ষণাবেক্ষন করব।
"Send him with us tomorrow to enjoy himself and play, and we shall take every care of him." |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ১২) |

তারা বললঃ আমরা একটি ভারী দল থাকা সত্ত্বেও যদি ব্যাঘ্র তাকে খেয়ে ফেলে, তবে আমরা সবই হারালাম।
They said: "If the wolf were to devour him while we are (so large) a party, then should we indeed (first) have perished ourselves!" |

তারা বললঃ পিতাঃ আমরা দৌড় প্রতিযোগিতা করতে গিয়েছিলাম এবং ইউসুফকে আসবাব-পত্রের কাছে রেখে গিয়েছিলাম। অতঃপর তাকে বাঘে খেয়ে ফেলেছে। আপনি তো আমাদেরকে বিশ্বাস করবেন না, যদিও আমরা সত্যবাদী।
They said: "O our father! We went racing with one another, and left Joseph with our things; and the wolf devoured him.... But thou wilt never believe us even though we tell the truth." |

আয়াতঃ ১৭) |

মিসরে যে ব্যক্তি তাকে ক্রয় করল, সে তার স্ত্রীকে বললঃ একে সম্মানে রাখ। সম্ভবতঃ সে আমাদের কাছে আসবে অথবা আমরা তাকে পুত্ররূপে গ্রহণ করে নেব। এমনিভাবে আমি ইউসুফকে এদেশে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করলাম এবং এ জন্যে যে তাকে বাক্যাদির পূর্ণ মর্ম অনুধাবনের পদ্ধতি বিষয়ে শিক্ষা দেই। আল্লাহ নিজ কাজে প্রবল থাকেন, কিন্তু অধিকাংশ লোক তা জানে না।
The man in Egypt who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his stay (among us) honourable: may be he will bring us much good, or we shall adopt him as a son." Thus did We establish Joseph in the land, that We might teach him the interpretation of stories (and events). And Allah hath full power and control over His affairs; but most among mankind know it not. |

নগরে মহিলারা বলাবলি করতে লাগল যে, আযীযের স্ত্রী স্বীয় গোলামকে কুমতলব চরিতার্থ করার জন্য ফুসলায়। সে তার প্রেমে উম্মত্ত হয়ে গেছে। আমরা তো তাকে প্রকাশ্য ভ্রান্তিতে দেখতে পাচ্ছি।
Ladies said in the City: "The wife of the (great) 'Aziz is seeking to seduce her slave from his (true) self: Truly hath he inspired her with violent love: we see she is evidently going astray." |

তাঁর সাথে কারাগারে দুজন যুবক প্রবেশ করল। তাদের একজন বললঃ আমি স্বপ্নে দেখলাম যে, আমি মদ নিঙড়াচ্ছি। অপরজন বললঃ আমি দেখলাম যে, নিজ মাথায় রুটি বহন করছি। তা থেকে পাখী ঠুকরিয়ে খাচ্ছে। আমাদের কে এর ব্যাখ্যা বলুন। আমরা আপনাকে সৎকর্মশীল দেখতে পাচ্ছি।
Now with him there came into the prison two young men. Said one of them: "I see myself (in a dream) pressing wine." said the other: "I see myself (in a dream) carrying bread on my head, and birds are eating, thereof." "Tell us" (they said) "The truth and meaning thereof: for we see thou art one that doth good (to all)." |

আয়াতঃ ৩৬) |

বাদশাহ মহিলাদেরকে বললেনঃ তোমাদের হাল-হাকিকত কি, যখন তোমরা ইউসুফকে আত্মসংবরণ থেকে ফুসলিয়েছিলে? তারা বললঃ আল্লাহ মহান, আমরা তার সম্পর্কে মন্দ কিছু জানি না। আযীয-পত্মি বললঃ এখন সত্য কথা প্রকাশ হয়ে গেছে। আমিই তাকে আত্মসংবরণ থেকে ফুসলিয়েছিলাম এবং সে সত্যবাদী।
(The king) said (to the ladies): "What was your affair when ye did seek to seduce Joseph from his (true) self?" The ladies said: "Allah preserve us! no evil know we against him!" Said the 'Aziz's wife: "Now is the truth manifest (to all): it was I who sought to seduce him from his (true) self: He is indeed of those who are (ever) true (and virtuous). |

তারা বললঃ আমরা তার সম্পর্কে তার পিতাকে সম্মত করার চেষ্টা করব এবং আমাদেরকে একাজ করতেই হবে।
They said: "We shall certainly seek to get our wish about him from his father: Indeed we shall do it." |

আয়াতঃ ৬১) |

তারা যখন তাদের পিতার কাছে ফিরে এল তখন বললঃ হে আমাদের পিতা, আমাদের জন্যে খাদ্য শস্যের বরাদ্দ নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে। অতএব আপনি আমাদের ভাইকে আমাদের সাথে প্রেরণ করুন; যাতে আমরা খাদ্য শস্যের বরাদ্দ আনতে পারি এবং আমরা অবশ্যই তার পুরোপুরি হেফাযত করব।
Now when they returned to their father, they said: "O our father! No more measure of grain shall we get (unless we take our brother): So send our brother with us, that we may get our measure; and we will indeed take every care of him." |

আয়াতঃ ৬৩) |

এবং যখন তারা আসবাবপত্র খুলল, তখন দেখতে পেল যে, তাদেরকে তাদের পন্যমুল্য ফেরত দেয়া হয়েছে। তারা বললঃ হে আমাদের পিতা, আমরা আর কি চাইতে পারি। এই আমাদের প্রদত্ত পন্যমূল্য, আমাদেরকে ফেরত দেয়া হয়েছে। এখন আমরা আবার আমাদের পরিবারবর্গের জন্যে রসদ আনব এবং আমাদের ভাইয়ের দেখাশোনা করব এবং এক এক উটের বরাদ্দ খাদ্যশস্য আমরা অতিরিক্ত আনব। ঐ বরাদ্দ সহজ।
Then when they opened their baggage, they found their stock-in-trade had been returned to them. They said: "O our father! What (more) can we desire? this our stock-in-trade has been returned to us: so we shall get (more) food for our family; We shall take care of our brother; and add (at the same time) a full camel's load (of grain to our provisions). This is but a small quantity. |

আয়াতঃ ৬৫) |

তারা বললঃ আমরা বাদশাহর পানপাত্র হারিয়েছি এবং যে কেউ এটা এনে দেবে সে এক উটের বোঝা পরিমাণ মাল পাবে এবং আমি এর যামিন।
They said: "We miss the great beaker of the king; for him who produces it, is (the reward of) a camel load; I will be bound by it." |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৭২) |
| 142 |
তারা বললঃ আল্লাহর কসম, তোমরা তো জান, আমরা অনর্থ ঘটাতে এদেশে আসিনি এবং আমরা কখনও চোর ছিলাম না।
(The brothers) said: "By Allah! well ye know that we came not to make mischief in the land, and we are no thieves!" |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৭৩) |

তারা বললঃ এর শাস্তি এই যে, যার রসদপত্র থেকে তা পাওয়া যাবে, এর প্রতিদানে সে দাসত্বে যাবে। আমরা যালেমদেরকে এভাবেই শাস্তি দেই।
They said: "The penalty should be that he in whose saddle-bag it is found, should be held (as bondman) to atone for the (crime). Thus it is we punish the wrong-doers!" |

আয়াতঃ ৭৫) |

তারা বলতে লাগলঃ হে আযীয, তার পিতা আছেন, যিনি খুবই বৃদ্ধ বয়স্ক। সুতরাং আপনি আমাদের একজনকে তার বদলে রেখে দিন। আমরা আপনাকে অনুগ্রহশীল ব্যক্তিদের একজন দেখতে পাচ্ছি।
They said: "O exalted one! Behold! he has a father, aged and venerable, (who will grieve for him); so take one of us in his place; for we see that thou art (gracious) in doing good." |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৭৮) |

তিনি বললেনঃ যার কাছে আমরা আমাদের মাল পেয়েছি, তাকে ছাড়া আর কাউকে গ্রেফতার করা থেকে আল্লাহ আমাদের রক্ষা করুন। তা হলে তো আমরা নিশ্চিতই অন্যায়কারী হয়ে যাব।
He said: "Allah forbid that we take other than him with whom we found our property: indeed (if we did so), we should be acting wrongfully. |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৭৯) |
| 146 |
তোমরা তোমাদের পিতার কাছে ফিরে যাও এবং বলঃ পিতা আপনার ছেলে চুরি করেছে। আমরা তাই বলে দিলাম, যা আমাদের জানা ছিল এবং অদৃশ্য বিষয়ের প্রতি আমাদের লক্ষ্য ছিল না।
"Turn ye back to your father, and say, 'O our father! behold! thy son committed theft! we bear witness only to what we know, and we could not well guard against the unseen! |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৮১) |

জিজ্ঞেস করুন ঐ জনপদের লোকদেরকে যেখানে আমরা ছিলাম এবং ঐ কাফেলাকে, যাদের সাথে আমরা এসেছি। নিশ্চিতই আমরা সত্য বলছি।
"'Ask at the town where we have been and the caravan in which we returned, and (you will find) we are indeed telling the truth.'" |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৮২) |

অতঃপর যখন তারা ইউসুফের কাছে পৌঁছল তখন বললঃ হে আযীয, আমরা ও আমাদের পরিবারবর্গ কষ্টের সম্মুখীন হয়ে পড়েছি এবং আমরা অপর্যাপ্ত পুঁজি নিয়ে এসেছি। অতএব আপনি আমাদের পুরোপুরি বরাদ্দ দিন এবং আমাদের কে দান করুন। আল্লাহ দাতাদেরকে প্রতিদান দিয়ে থাকেন।
Then, when they came (back) into (Joseph's) presence they said: "O exalted one! distress has seized us and our family: we have (now) brought but scanty capital: so pay us full measure, (we pray thee), and treat it as charity to us: for Allah doth reward the charitable." |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৮৮) |

তারা বললঃ আল্লাহর কসম, আমাদের চাইতে আল্লাহ তোমাকে পছন্দ করেছেন এবং আমরা অবশ্যই অপরাধী ছিলাম।
They said: "By Allah! indeed has Allah preferred thee above us, and we certainly have been guilty of sin!" |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৯১) |

তারা বললঃ পিতা আমাদের অপরাধ ক্ষমা করান। নিশ্চয় আমরা অপরাধী ছিলাম।
They said: "O our father! ask for us forgiveness for our sins, for we were truly at fault." |

আয়াতঃ ৯৭) |

যদি আপনি বিস্ময়ের বিষয় চান, তবে তাদের একথা বিস্ময়কর যে, আমরা যখন মাটি হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি নতুন ভাবে সৃজিত হব? এরাই স্বীয় পালনকর্তার সত্তায় অবিশ্বাসী হয়ে গেছে, এদের গর্দানেই লৌহ-শৃংখল পড়বে এবং এরাই দোযখী এরা তাতে চিরকাল থাকবে।
If thou dost marvel (at their want of faith), strange is their saying: "When we are (actually) dust, shall we indeed then be in a creation renewed?" They are those who deny their Lord! They are those round whose necks will be yokes (of servitude): they will be Companions of the Fire, to dwell therein (for aye)! |

আয়াতঃ ৫) |

তোমাদের কাছে কি তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তী কওমে নূহ, আদ ও সামুদের এবং তাদের পরবর্তীদের খবর পৌছেনি? তাদের বিষয়ে আল্লাহ ছাড়া আর কেউ জানে না। তাদের কাছে তাদের পয়গম্বর প্রমানাদি নিয়ে আগমন করেন। অতঃপর তারা নিজেদের হাত নিজেদের মুখে রেখে দিয়েছে এবং বলেছে, যা কিছু সহ তোমাদেরকে প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে, আমরা তা মানি না এবং যে পথের দিকে তোমরা আমাদেরকে দাওয়াত দাও, সে সম্পর্কে আমাদের মনে সন্দেহ আছে, যা আমাদেরকে উৎকন্ঠায় ফেলে রেখেছে।
Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? - of the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud? - And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came messengers with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: "We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us." |

আয়াতঃ ৯) |

আমাদের আল্লাহর উপর ভরসা না করার কি কারণ থাকতে পারে, অথচ তিনি আমাদেরকে আমাদের পথ বলে দিয়েছেন। তোমরা আমাদেরকে যে পীড়ন করেছ, তজ্জন্যে আমরা সবর করব। ভরসাকারিগণের আল্লাহর উপরই ভরসা করা উচিত।
"No reason have we why we should not put our trust on Allah. Indeed He Has guided us to the Ways we (follow). We shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us. For those who put their trust should put their trust on Allah." |
(ইব্রাহীম:
আয়াতঃ ১২) |

কাফেররা পয়গম্বরগণকে বলেছিলঃ আমরা তোমাদেরকে দেশ থেকে বের করে দেব অথবা তোমরা আমাদের ধর্মে ফিরে আসবে। তখন তাদের কাছে তাদের পালনকর্তা ওহী প্রেরণ করলেন যে, আমি জালিমদেরকে অবশ্যই ধ্বংস করে দেব।
And the Unbelievers said to their messengers: "Be sure we shall drive you out of our land, or ye shall return to our religion." But their Lord inspired (this Message) to them: "Verily We shall cause the wrong-doers to perish! |
(ইব্রাহীম:
আয়াতঃ ১৩) |
| 155 |
সবাই আল্লাহর সামনে দন্ডায়মান হবে এবং দুর্বলেরা বড়দেরকে বলবেঃ আমরা তো তোমাদের অনুসারী ছিলাম-অতএব, তোমরা আল্লাহর আযাব থেকে আমাদেরকে কিছুমাত্র রক্ষা করবে কি? তারা বলবেঃ যদি আল্লাহ আমাদেরকে সৎপথ দেখাতেন, তবে আমরা অবশ্যই তোমাদের কে সৎপথ দেখাতাম। এখন তো আমাদের ধৈর্য্যচ্যুত হই কিংবা সবর করি-সবই আমাদের জন্যে সমান আমাদের রেহাই নেই।
They will all be marshalled before Allah together: then will the weak say to those who were arrogant, "For us, we but followed you; can ye then avail us to all against the wrath of Allah?" They will reply, "If we had received the Guidance of Allah, we should have given it to you: to us it makes no difference (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience: for ourselves there is no way of escape." |

আয়াতঃ ২১) |

হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আপনি তো জানেন আমরা যা কিছু গোপনে করি এবং যা কিছু প্রকাশ্য করি। আল্লাহর কাছে পৃথিবীতে ও আকাশে কোন কিছুই গোপন নয়।
"O our Lord! truly Thou dost know what we conceal and what we reveal: for nothing whatever is hidden from Allah, whether on earth or in heaven. |
(ইব্রাহীম:
আয়াতঃ ৩৮) |
| 157 |
মানুষকে ঐ দিনের ভয় প্রদর্শন করুন, যেদিন তাদের কাছে আযাব আসবে। তখন জালেমরা বলবেঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমাদেরকে সামান্য মেয়াদ পর্যন্ত সময় দিন, যাতে আমরা আপনার আহবানে সাড়া দিতে এবং পয়গম্বরগণের অনুসরণ করতে পারি। তোমরা কি ইতোপূর্বে কসম খেতে না যে, তোমাদেরকে দুনিয়া থেকে যেতে হবে না?
So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! respite us (if only) for a short term: we will answer Thy call, and follow the messengers!" "What! were ye not wont to swear aforetime that ye should suffer no decline? |
(ইব্রাহীম:
আয়াতঃ ৪৪) |

তবুও ওরা একথাই বলবে যে, আমাদের দৃষ্টির বিভ্রাট ঘটানো হয়েছে না বরং আমরা যাদুগ্রস্ত হয়ে পড়েছি।
They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery." |

আয়াতঃ ১৫) |

যখন তারা তাঁর গৃহে আগমন করল এবং বললঃ সালাম। তিনি বললেনঃ আমরা তোমাদের ব্যাপারে ভীত।
When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!" |

তারা বললঃ ভয় করবেন না। আমরা আপনাকে একজন জ্ঞানবান ছেলে-সন্তানের সুসংবাদ দিচ্ছি।
They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom." |

তারা বললঃ আমরা আপনাকে সত্য সু-সংবাদ দিচ্ছি! অতএব আপনি নিরাশ হবেন না।
They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!" |

তারা বললঃ আমরা একটি অপরাধী সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতি প্রেরিত হয়েছি।
They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin, |

কিন্তু লূতের পরিবার-পরিজন। আমরা অবশ্যই তাদের সবাইকে বাঁচিয়ে নেব।
"Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm),- All - |

তবে তার স্ত্রী। আমরা স্থির করেছি যে, সে থেকে যাওয়াদের দলভূক্ত হবে।
"Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind." |

তারা বললঃ না বরং আমরা আপনার কাছে ঐ বস্তু নিয়ে এসেছি, যে সম্পর্কে তারা বিবাদ করত।
They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. |

এবং আমরা আপনার কাছে সত্য বিষয় নিয়ে এসেছি এবং আমরা সত্যবাদী।
"We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. |

তার বললঃ আমরা কি আপনাকে জগৎদ্বাসীর সমর্থন করতে নিষেধ করিনি।
They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" |

ফেরেশতারা তাদের জান এমতাঅবস্থায় কবজ করে যে, তারা নিজেদের উপর যুলুম করেছে। তখন তারা অনুগত্য প্রকাশ করবে যে, আমরা তো কোন মন্দ কাজ করতাম না। হঁ্যা নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ সববিষয় অবগত আছেন, যা তোমরা করতে।
"(Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of wrong-doing to their own souls." Then would they offer submission (with the pretence), "We did no evil (knowingly)." (The angels will reply), "Nay, but verily Allah knoweth all that ye did; |

মুশরিকরা বললঃ যদি আল্লাহ চাইতেন, তবে আমরা তাঁকে ছাড়া কারও এবাদত করতাম না এবং আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরাও করত না এবং তাঁর নির্দেশ ছাড়া কোন বস্তুই আমরা হারাম করতাম না। তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা এমনই করেছে। রাসূলের দায়িত্ব তো শুধুমাত্র সুস্পষ্ট বাণী পৌছিয়ে দেয়া।
The worshippers of false gods say: "If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him - neither we nor our fathers,- nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His." So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of messengers but to preach the Clear Message? |

মুশরিকরা যখন ঐ সব বস্তুকে দেখবে, যেসবকে তারা আল্লাহর সাথে শরীক সাব্যস্ত করেছিল, তখন বলবেঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা এরাই তারা যারা আমাদের শেরেকীর উপাদান, তোমাকে ছেড়ে আমরা যাদেরকে ডাকতাম। তখন ওরা তাদেরকে বলবেঃ তোমরা মিথ্যাবাদী।
When those who gave partners to Allah will see their "partners", they will say: "Our Lord! these are our 'partners,' those whom we used to invoke besides Thee." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Indeed ye are liars!" |

আয়াতঃ ৮৬) |

তারা বলেঃ যখন আমরা অস্থিতে পরিণত ও চূর্ণ বিচূর্ণ হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি নতুন করে সৃজিত হয়ে উত্থিত হব?
They say: "What! when we are reduced to bones and dust, should we really be raised up (to be) a new creation?" |

এবং তারা বলেঃ আমরা কখনও আপনাকে বিশ্বাস করব না, যে পর্যন্ত না আপনি ভূপৃষ্ঠ থেকে আমাদের জন্যে একটি ঝরণা প্রবাহিত করে দিন।
They say: "We shall not believe in thee, until thou cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth, |

অথবা আপনার কোন সোনার তৈরী গৃহ হবে অথবা আপনি আকাশে আরোহণ করবেন এবং আমরা আপনার আকাশে আরোহণকে কখনও বিশ্বাস করবনা, যে পর্যন্ত না আপনি অবতীর্ণ করেন আমাদের প্রতি এক গ্রন্থ, যা আমরা পাঠ করব। বলুনঃ পবিত্র মহান আমার পালনকর্তা, একজন মানব, একজন রসূল বৈ আমি কে?
"Or thou have a house adorned with gold, or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No, we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say: "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man,- a messenger?" |

এটাই তাদের শাস্তি। কারণ, তারা আমার নিদর্শনসমূহ অস্বীকার করেছে এবং বলেছেঃ আমরা যখন অস্থিতে পরিণত ও চুর্ণ-বিচুর্ণ হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি আমরা নতুনভাবে সৃজিত হয়ে উত্থিত হব?
That is their recompense, because they rejected Our signs, and said, "When we are reduced to bones and broken dust, should we really be raised up (to be) a new Creation?" |

আমি তাদের মন দৃঢ় করেছিলাম, যখন তারা উঠে দাঁড়িয়েছিল। অতঃপর তারা বললঃ আমাদের পালনকর্তা আসমান ও যমীনের পালনকর্তা আমরা কখনও তার পরিবর্তে অন্য কোন উপাস্যকে আহবান করব না। যদি করি, তবে তা অত্যন্ত গর্হিত কাজ হবে।
We gave strength to their hearts: Behold, they stood up and said: "Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and of the earth: never shall we call upon any god other than Him: if we did, we should indeed have uttered an enormity! |
(কাহফ:
আয়াতঃ ১৪) |

এমনিভাবে আমি তাদের খবর প্রকাশ করে দিলাম, যাতে তারা জ্ঞাত হয় যে, আল্লাহর ওয়াদা সত্য এবং কেয়ামতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই। যখন তারা নিজেদের কর্তব্য বিষয়ে পরস্পর বিতর্ক করছিল, তখন তারা বললঃ তাদের উপর সৌধ নির্মাণ কর। তাদের পালনকর্তা তাদের বিষয়ে ভাল জানেন। তাদের কর্তব্য বিষয়ে যাদের মত প্রবল হল, তারা বললঃ আমরা অবশ্যই তাদের স্থানে মসজিদ নির্মান করব।
Thus did We make their case known to the people, that they might know that the promise of Allah is true, and that there can be no doubt about the Hour of Judgment. Behold, they dispute among themselves as to their affair. (Some) said, "Construct a building over them": Their Lord knows best about them: those who prevailed over their affair said, "Let us surely build a place of worship over them." |

যখন তাঁরা সে স্থানটি অতিক্রম করে গেলেন, মূসা সঙ্গী কে বললেনঃ আমাদের নাশতা আন। আমরা এই সফরে পরিশ্রান্ত হয়ে পড়েছি।
When they had passed on (some distance), Moses said to his attendant: "Bring us our early meal; truly we have suffered much fatigue at this (stage of) our journey." |

সে বললঃ আপনি কি লক্ষ্য করেছেন, আমরা যখন প্রস্তর খন্ডে আশ্রয় নিয়েছিলাম, তখন আমি মাছের কথা ভুলে গিয়েছিলাম। শয়তানই আমাকে একথা স্মরণ রাখতে ভুলিয়ে দিয়েছিল। মাছটি আশ্চর্য জনক ভাবে সমুদ্রে নিজের পথ করে নিয়েছে।
He replied: "Sawest thou (what happened) when we betook ourselves to the rock? I did indeed forget (about) the Fish: none but Satan made me forget to tell (you) about it: it took its course through the sea in a marvellous way!" |

আয়াতঃ ৬৩) |

মূসা বললেনঃ আমরা তো এ স্থানটিই খুঁজছিলাম। অতঃপর তাঁরা নিজেদের চিহ্ন ধরে ফিরে চললেন।
Moses said: "That was what we were seeking after:" So they went back on their footsteps, following (the path they had come). |

তারা বললঃ হে যুলকারনাইন, ইয়াজুজ ও মাজুজ দেশে অশান্তি সৃষ্টি করেছে। আপনি বললে আমরা আপনার জন্যে কিছু কর ধার্য করব এই শর্তে যে, আপনি আমাদের ও তাদের মধ্যে একটি প্রাচীর নির্মাণ করে দেবেন।
They said: "O Zul-qarnain! the Gog and Magog (People) do great mischief on earth: shall we then render thee tribute in order that thou mightest erect a barrier between us and them? |
(কাহফ:
আয়াতঃ ৯৪) |

অতঃপর তিনি হাতে সন্তানের দিকে ইঙ্গিত করলেন। তারা বললঃ যে কোলের শিশু তার সাথে আমরা কেমন করে কথা বলব?
But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?" |

যাতে আমরা বেশী করে আপনার পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষনা করতে পারি।
"That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:

তারা বললঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমরা আশঙ্কা করি যে, সে আমাদের প্রতি জুলুম করবে কিংবা উত্তেজিত হয়ে উঠবে।
They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৪৫) |
| 184 |
অতএব তোমরা তার কাছে যাও এবং বলঃ আমরা উভয়েই তোমার পালনকর্তার প্রেরিত রসূল, অতএব আমাদের সাথে বনী ইসরাঈলকে যেতে দাও এবং তাদেরকে নিপীড়ন করো না। আমরা তোমার পালনকর্তার কাছ থেকে নিদর্শন নিয়ে তোমার কাছে আগমন করেছি। এবং যে সৎপথ অনুসরণ করে, তার প্রতি শান্তি।
"So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |
| 185 |
আমরা ওহী লাভ করেছি যে, যে ব্যক্তি মিথ্যারোপ করে এবং মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়, তার উপর আযাব পড়বে।
"'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৪৮) |
| 186 |
অতএব, আমরাও তোমার মোকাবেলায় তোমার নিকট অনুরূপ যাদু উপস্থিত করব। সুতরাং আমাদের ও তোমার মধ্যে একটি ওয়াদার দিন ঠিক কর, যার খেলাফ আমরাও করব না এবং তুমিও করবে না একটি পরিষ্কার প্রান্তরে।
"But we can surely produce magic to match thine! So make a tryst between us and thee, which we shall not fail to keep - neither we nor thou - in a place where both shall have even chances." |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৫৮) |

তারা বললঃ হে মূসা, হয় তুমি নিক্ষেপ কর, না হয় আমরা প্রথমে নিক্ষেপ করি।
They said: "O Moses! whether wilt thou that thou throw (first) or that we be the first to throw?" |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৬৫) |

অতঃপর যাদুকররা সেজদায় পড়ে গেল। তারা বললঃ আমরা হারুন ও মূসার পালনকর্তার প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলাম।
So the magicians were thrown down to prostration: they said, "We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses". |

আয়াতঃ ৭০) |
| 189 |
যাদুকররা বললঃ আমাদের কাছে যে, সুস্পষ্ট প্রমাণ এসেছে তার উপর এবং যিনি আমাদের কে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তাঁর উপর আমরা কিছুতেই তোমাকে প্রাধান্য দেব না। অতএব, তুমি যা ইচ্ছা করতে পার। তুমি তো শুধু এই পার্থিব জীবনেই যা করার করবে।
They said: "Never shall we regard thee as more than the Clear Signs that have come to us, or than Him Who created us! so decree whatever thou desirest to decree: for thou canst only decree (touching) the life of this world. |

আয়াতঃ ৭২) |

আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তার প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি যাতে তিনি আমাদের পাপ এবং তুমি আমাদেরকে যে যাদু করতে বাধ্য করেছ, তা মার্জনা করেন। আল্লাহ শ্রেষ্ঠ ও চিরস্থায়ী।
"For us, we have believed in our Lord: may He forgive us our faults, and the magic to which thou didst compel us: for Allah is Best and Most Abiding." |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৭৩) |
| 191 |
তারা বললঃ আমরা তোমার সাথে কৃত ওয়াদা স্বেচ্ছায় ভঙ্গ করিনি; কিন্তু আমাদের উপর ফেরউনীদের অলংকারের বোঝা চাপিয়ে দেয়া হয়েছিল। অতঃপর আমরা তা নিক্ষেপ করে দিয়েছি। এমনি ভাবে সামেরীও নিক্ষেপ করেছে।
They said: "We broke not the promise to thee, as far as lay in our power: but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the (whole) people, and we threw them (into the fire), and that was what the Samiri suggested. |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৮৭) |

তারা বললঃ মূসা আমাদের কাছে ফিরে আসা পর্যন্ত আমরা সদাসর্বদা এর সাথেই সংযুক্ত হয়ে বসে থাকব।
They had said: "We will not abandon this cult, but we will devote ourselves to it until Moses returns to us." |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৯১) |
| 193 |
মূসা বললেনঃ দূর হ, তোর জন্য সারা জীবন এ শাস্তিই রইল যে, তুই বলবি; আমাকে স্পর্শ করো না, এবং তোর জন্য একটি নির্দিষ্ট ওয়াদা আছে, যার ব্যতিক্রম হবে না। তুই তোর সেই ইলাহের প্রতি লক্ষ্য কর, যাকে তুই ঘিরে থাকতি। আমরা সেটি জালিয়ে দেবই। অতঃপর একে বিক্ষিপ্ত করে সাগরে ছড়িয়ে দেবই।
(Moses) said: "Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, 'touch me not'; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!" |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ৯৭) |
| 194 |
যদি আমি এদেরকে ইতিপূর্বে কোন শাস্তি দ্বারা ধ্বংস করতাম, তবে এরা বলতঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আপনি আমাদের কাছে একজন রসূল প্রেরণ করলেন না কেন? তাহলে তো আমরা অপমানিত ও হেয় হওয়ার পূর্বেই আপনার নিদর্শন সমূহ মেনে চলতাম।
And if We had inflicted on them a penalty before this, they would have said: "Our Lord! If only Thou hadst sent us a messenger, we should certainly have followed Thy Signs before we were humbled and put to shame." |
(ত্বোয়া-হা:
আয়াতঃ ১৩৪) |

তারা বললঃ হায়, দুর্ভোগ আমাদের, আমরা অবশ্যই পাপী ছিলাম।
They said: "Ah! woe to us! We were indeed wrong-doers!" |
(আম্বিয়া:
আয়াতঃ ১৪) |
| 196 |
আপনার পালনকর্তার আযাবের কিছুমাত্রও তাদেরকে স্পর্শ করলে তারা বলতে থাকবে, হায় আমাদের দুর্ভাগ্য, আমরা অবশ্যই পাপী ছিলাম।
If but a breath of the Wrath of thy Lord do touch them, they will then say, "Woe to us! we did wrong indeed!" |

তারা বললঃ আমরা আমাদের বাপ-দাদাকে এদের পুজা করতে দেখেছি।
They said, "We found our fathers worshipping them." |
(আম্বিয়া:
আয়াতঃ ৫৩) |
| 198 |
কতক লোকে বললঃ আমরা এক যুবককে তাদের সম্পর্কে বিরূপ আলোচনা করতে শুনেছি; তাকে ইব্রাহীম বলা হয়।
They said, "We heard a youth talk of them: He is called Abraham." |
(আম্বিয়া:
আয়াতঃ ৬০) |

আমোঘ প্রতিশ্রুত সময় নিকটবর্তী হলে কাফেরদের চক্ষু উচ্চে স্থির হয়ে যাবে; হায় আমাদের দূর্ভাগ্য, আমরা এ বিষয়ে বেখবর ছিলাম; বরং আমরা গোনাহগরই ছিলাম।
Then will the true promise draw nigh (of fulfilment): then behold! the eyes of the Unbelievers will fixedly stare in horror: "Ah! Woe to us! we were indeed heedless of this; nay, we truly did wrong!" |
(আম্বিয়া:
আয়াতঃ ৯৭) |

পয়গাম্বর বললেনঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আপনি ন্যায়ানুগ ফয়সালা করে দিন। আমাদের পালনকর্তা তো দয়াময়, তোমরা যা বলছ, সে বিষয়ে আমরা তাঁর কাছেই সাহায্য প্রার্থনা করি।
Say: "O my Lord! judge Thou in truth!" "Our Lord Most Gracious is the One Whose assistance should be sought against the blasphemies ye utter!" |
(আম্বিয়া:
আয়াতঃ ১১২) |

তখন তার সম্প্রদায়ের কাফের-প্রধানরা বলেছিলঃ এ তো তোমাদের মতই একজন মানুষ বৈ নয়। সে তোমাদের উপর নেতৃত্ব করতে চায়। আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করলে ফেরেশতাই নাযিল করতেন। আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের মধ্যে এরূপ কথা শুনিনি।
The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old." |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ২৪) |

আমাদের পার্থিবজীবনই একমাত্র জীবন। আমরা মরি ও বাঁচি এখানেই এবং আমারা পুনরুত্থিত হবো না।
"There is nothing but our life in this world! We shall die and we live! But we shall never be raised up again! |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ৩৭) |

সে তো এমন ব্যক্তি বৈ নয়, যে আল্লাহ সম্বন্ধে মিথ্যা উদ্ভাবন করেছে এবং আমরা তাকে বিশ্বাস করি না।
"He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ৩৮) |

তারা বললঃ আমরা কি আমাদের মতই এ দুই ব্যক্তিতে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করব; অথচ তাদের সম্প্রদায় আমাদের দাস?
They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people are subject to us!" |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |

তারা বলেঃ যখন আমরা মরে যাব এবং মৃত্তিকা ও অস্থিতে পরিণত হব, তখনও কি আমরা পুনরুত্থিত হব ?
They say: "What! when we die and become dust and bones, could we really be raised up again? |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ৮২) |

তারা বলবেঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমরা দূর্ভাগ্যের হাতে পরাভূত ছিলাম এবং আমরা ছিলাম বিভ্রান্ত জাতি।
They will say: "our Lord! Our misfortune overwhelmed us, and we became a people astray! |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ১০৬) |
| 207 |
হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! এ থেকে আমাদেরকে উদ্ধার কর; আমরা যদি পুনরায় তা করি, তবে আমরা গোনাহগার হব।
"Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil), then shall we be wrong-doers indeed!" |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ১০৭) |

আমার বান্দাদের একদলে বলতঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি। অতএব তুমি আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা কর ও আমাদের প্রতি রহম কর। তুমি তো দয়ালুদের মধ্যে শ্রেষ্ঠ দয়ালু।
"A part of My servants there was, who used to pray 'our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ১০৯) |

তারা বলবে, আমরা একদিন অথবা দিনের কিছু অংশ অবস্থান করেছি। অতএব আপনি গণনাকারীদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস করুন।
They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask those who keep account." |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ১১৩) |

তারা বলেঃ আমরা আল্লাহ ও রসূলের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি এবং আনুগত্য করি; কিন্তু অতঃপর তাদের একদল মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় এবং তারা বিশ্বাসী নয়।
They say, "We believe in Allah and in the messenger, and we obey": but even after that, some of them turn away: they are not (really) Believers. |
(আন-নূর:
আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |

মুমিনদের বক্তব্য কেবল এ কথাই যখন তাদের মধ্যে ফয়সালা করার জন্যে আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূলের দিকে তাদেরকে আহবান করা হয়, তখন তারা বলেঃ আমরা শুনলাম ও আদেশ মান্য করলাম। তারাই সফলকাম।
The answer of the Believers, when summoned to Allah and His Messenger, in order that He may judge between them, is no other than this: they say, "We hear and we obey": it is such as these that will attain felicity. |
(আন-নূর:
আয়াতঃ ৫১) |

তারা বলবে-আপনি পবিত্র, আমরা আপনার পরিবর্তে অন্যকে মুরুব্বীরূপে গ্রহণ করতে পারতাম না; কিন্তু আপনিই তো তাদেরকে এবং তাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে ভোগসম্ভার দিয়েছিলেন, ফলে তারা আপনার স্মৃতি বিস্মৃত হয়েছিল এবং তারা ছিল ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্ত জাতি।
They will say: "Glory to Thee! not meet was it for us that we should take for protectors others besides Thee: But Thou didst bestow, on them and their fathers, good things (in life), until they forgot the Message: for they were a people (worthless and) lost." |
(আল-ফুরকান:
আয়াতঃ ১৮) |

যারা আমার সাক্ষাৎ আশা করে না, তারা বলে, আমাদের কাছে ফেরেশতা অবতীর্ণ করা হল না কেন? অথবা আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তাকে দেখি না কেন? তারা নিজেদের অন্তরে অহংকার পোষণ করে এবং গুরুতর অবাধ্যতায় মেতে উঠেছে।
Such as fear not the meeting with Us (for Judgment) say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or (why) do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they have an arrogant conceit of themselves, and mighty is the insolence of their impiety! |

সে তো আমাদেরকে আমাদের উপাস্যগণের কাছ থেকে সরিয়েই দিত, যদি আমরা তাদেরকে আঁকড়ে ধরে না থাকতাম। তারা যখন শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, তখন জানতে পারবে কে অধিক পথভ্রষ্ট।
"He indeed would well-nigh have misled us from our gods, had it not been that we were constant to them!" - Soon will they know, when they see the Penalty, who it is that is most misled in Path! |

তাদেরকে যখন বলা হয়, দয়াময়কে সেজদা কর, তখন তারা বলে, দয়াময় আবার কে? তুমি কাউকে সেজদা করার আদেশ করলেই কি আমরা সেজদা করব? এতে তাদের পলায়নপরতাই বৃদ্ধি পায়।
When it is said to them, "Prostrate to (Allah) Most Gracious!", they say, "And what is (Allah) Most Gracious? Shall we prostrate to that which thou commandest us?" And it increases their flight (from the Truth). |

অতএব তোমরা ফেরআউনের কাছে যাও এবং বল, আমরা বিশ্বজগতের পালনকর্তার রসূল।
"So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; |

ফেরাউন বলল, আমরা কি তোমাকে শিশু অবস্থায় আমাদের মধ্যে লালন-পালন করিনি? এবং তুমি আমাদের মধ্যে জীবনের বহু বছর কাটিয়েছ।
(Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? |

যাতে আমরা জাদুকরদের অনুসরণ করতে পারি-যদি তারাই বিজয়ী হয়।
"That we may follow the sorcerers (in religion) if they win?" |

যখন যাদুকররা আগমণ করল, তখন ফেরআউনকে বলল, যদি আমরা বিজয়ী হই, তবে আমরা পুরস্কার পাব তো?
So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Pharaoh: "Of course - shall we have a (suitable) reward if we win? |

অতঃপর তারা তাদের রশি ও লাঠি নিক্ষেপ করল এবং বলল, ফেরাউনের ইযযতের কসম, আমরাই বিজয়ী হব।
So they threw their ropes and their rods, and said: "By the might of Pharaoh, it is we who will certainly win!" |

তারা বলল, আমরা রাব্বুল আলামীনের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলাম।
Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, |

তারা বলল, কোন ক্ষতি নেই। আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তার কাছে প্রত্যাবর্তন করব।
They said: "No matter! for us, we shall but return to our Lord! |

আমরা আশা করি, আমাদের পালনকর্তা আমাদের ক্রটি-বিচ্যুতি মার্জনা করবেন। কারণ, আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপনকারীদের মধ্যে অগ্রণী।
"Only, our desire is that our Lord will forgive us our faults, that we may become foremost among the believers!" |

এবং আমরা সবাই সদা শংকিত।
"But we are a multitude amply fore-warned." |

যখন উভয় দল পরস্পরকে দেখল, তখন মূসার সঙ্গীরা বলল, আমরা যে ধরা পড়ে গেলাম।
And when the two bodies saw each other, the people of Moses said: "We are sure to be overtaken." |

তারা বলল, আমরা প্রতিমার পূজা করি এবং সারাদিন এদেরকেই নিষ্ঠার সাথে আঁকড়ে থাকি।
They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." |

তারা বললঃ না, তবে আমরা আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে পেয়েছি, তারা এরূপই করত।
They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." |

আল্লাহর কসম, আমরা প্রকাশ্য বিভ্রান্তিতে লিপ্ত ছিলাম।
"'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, |

যখন আমরা তোমাদেরকে বিশ্ব-পালনকর্তার সমতুল্য গন্য করতাম।
"'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds; |

হায়, যদি কোনরুপে আমরা পৃথিবীতে প্রত্যাবর্তনের সুযোগ পেতাম, তবে আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপনকারী হয়ে যেতাম।
"'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" |

তারা বলল, আমরা কি তোমাকে মেনে নেব যখন তোমার অনুসরণ করছে ইতরজনেরা?
They said: "Shall we believe in thee when it is the meanest that follow thee?" |

আমরা শাস্তিপ্রাপ্ত হব না।
"And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!" |

তখন তারা বলবে, আমরা কি অবকাশ পাব না?
Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" |

তারা বলল, আমরা শক্তিশালী এবং কঠোর যোদ্ধা। এখন সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণের ক্ষমতা আপনারই। অতএব আপনি ভেবে দেখুন, আমাদেরকে কি আদেশ করবেন।
They said: "We are endued with strength, and given to vehement war: but the command is with thee; so consider what thou wilt command." |

অতঃপর যখন বিলকীস এসে গেল, তখন তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হল, তোমার সিংহাসন কি এরূপই? সে বলল, মনে হয় এটা সেটাই। আমরা পূর্বেই সমস্ত অবগত হয়েছি এবং আমরা আজ্ঞাবহও হয়ে গেছি।
So when she arrived, she was asked, "Is this thy throne?" She said, "It was just like this; and knowledge was bestowed on us in advance of this, and we have submitted to Allah (in Islam)." |

তারা বলল, তোমাকে এবং তোমার সাথে যারা আছে, তাদেরকে আমরা অকল্যাণের প্রতীক মনে করি। সালেহ বললেন, তোমাদের মঙ্গলামঙ্গল আল্লাহর কাছে; বরং তোমরা এমন সম্প্রদায়, যাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করা হচ্ছে।
They said: "Ill omen do we augur from thee and those that are with thee". He said: "Your ill omen is with Allah; yea, ye are a people under trial." |

তারা বলল, তোমরা পরস্পরে আল্লাহর নামে শপথ গ্রহণ কর যে, আমরা রাত্রিকালে তাকে ও তার পরিবারবর্গকে হত্যা করব। অতঃপর তার দাবীদারকে বলে দেব যে, তার পরিবারবর্গের হত্যাকান্ড আমরা প্রত্যক্ষ করিনি। আমরা নিশ্চয়ই সত্যবাদী।
They said: "Swear a mutual oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his people, and that we shall then say to his heir (when he seeks vengeance): 'We were not present at the slaughter of his people, and we are positively telling the truth.'" |

আয়াতঃ ৪৯) |

কাফেররা বলে, যখন আমরা ও আমাদের বাপ-দাদারা মৃত্তিকা হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি আমাদেরকে পুনরুত্থিত করা হবে?
The Unbelievers say: "What! when we become dust,- we and our fathers,- shall we really be raised (from the dead)? |

আয়াতঃ ৬৭) |

এই ওয়াদাপ্রাপ্ত হয়েছি আমরা এবং পূর্ব থেকেই আমাদের বাপ-দাদারা। এটা তো পূর্ববর্তীদের উপকথা বৈ কিছু নয়।
"It is true we were promised this,- we and our fathers before (us): these are nothing but tales of the ancients." |

ফেরাউনের স্ত্রী বলল, এ শিশু আমার ও তোমার নয়নমণি, তাকে হত্যা করো না। এ আমাদের উপকারে আসতে পারে অথবা আমরা তাকে পুত্র করে নিতে পারি। প্রকৃতপক্ষে পরিণাম সম্পর্কে তাদের কোন খবর ছিল না।
The wife of Pharaoh said: "(Here is) joy of the eye, for me and for thee: slay him not. It may be that he will be use to us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not (what they were doing)! |

আয়াতঃ ৯) |

যখন তিনি মাদইয়ানের কূপের ধারে পৌছলেন, তখন কূপের কাছে একদল লোককে পেলেন তারা জন্তুদেরকে পানি পান করানোর কাজে রত। এবং তাদের পশ্চাতে দূ’জন স্ত্রীলোককে দেখলেন তারা তাদের জন্তুদেরকে আগলিয়ে রাখছে। তিনি বললেন, তোমাদের কি ব্যাপার? তারা বলল, আমরা আমাদের জন্তুদেরকে পানি পান করাতে পারি না, যে পর্যন্ত রাখালরা তাদের জন্তুদেরকে নিয়ে সরে না যায়। আমাদের পিতা খুবই বৃদ্ধ।
And when he arrived at the watering (place) in Madyan, he found there a group of men watering (their flocks), and besides them he found two women who were keeping back (their flocks). He said: "What is the matter with you?" They said: "We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take back (their flocks): And our father is a very old man." |

আয়াতঃ ২৩) |

মূসা বললেন, আমার ও আপনার মধ্যে এই চুক্তি স্থির হল। দু’টি মেয়াদের মধ্য থেকে যে কোন একটি পূর্ণ করলে আমার বিরুদ্ধে কোন অভিযোগ থাকবে না। আমরা যা বলছি, তাতে আল্লাহর উপর ভরসা।
He said: "Be that (the agreement) between me and thee: whichever of the two terms I fulfil, let there be no ill-will to me. Be Allah a witness to what we say." |
(আল কাসাস:
আয়াতঃ ২৮) |

অতঃপর মূসা যখন তাদের কাছে আমার সুস্পষ্ট নিদর্শনাবলী নিয়ে পৌছল, তখন তারা বলল, এতো অলীক জাদু মাত্র। আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের মধ্যে এ কথা শুনিনি।
When Moses came to them with Our clear signs, they said: "This is nothing but sorcery faked up: never did we head the like among our fathers of old!" |

আয়াতঃ ৩৬) |

আর এ জন্য যে, তাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্যে তাদের কোন বিপদ হলে তারা বলত, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, তুমি আমাদের কাছে কোন রসূল প্রেরণ করলে না কেন? করলে আমরা তোমার আয়াতসমূহের অনুসরণ করতাম এবং আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপনকারী হয়ে যেতাম।
If (We had) not (sent thee to the Quraish),- in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they might say: "Our Lord! why didst Thou not sent us a messenger? We should then have followed Thy Signs and been amongst those who believe!" |

আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |

অতঃপর আমার কাছ থেকে যখন তাদের কাছে সত্য আগমন করল, তখন তারা বলল, মূসাকে যেরূপ দেয়া হয়েছিল, এই রসূলকে সেরূপ দেয়া হল না কেন? পূর্বে মূসাকে যা দেয়া হয়েছিল, তারা কি তা অস্বীকার করেনি? তারা বলেছিল, উভয়ই জাদু, পরস্পরে একাত্ম। তারা আরও বলেছিল, আমরা উভয়কে মানি না।
But (now), when the Truth has come to them from Ourselves, they say, "Why are not (Signs) sent to him, like those which were sent to Moses?" Do they not then reject (the Signs) which were formerly sent to Moses? They say: "Two kinds of sorcery, each assisting the other!" And they say: "For us, we reject all (such things)!" |

আয়াতঃ ৪৮) |

যখন তাদের কাছে এটা পাঠ করা হয়, তখন তারা বলে, আমরা এর প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলাম। এটা আমাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে সত্য। আমরা এর পূর্বেও আজ্ঞাবহ ছিলাম।
And when it is recited to them, they say: "We believe therein, for it is the Truth from our Lord: indeed we have been Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will) from before this. |

আয়াতঃ ৫৩) |

তারা যখন অবাঞ্চিত বাজে কথাবার্তা শ্রবণ করে, তখন তা থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় এবং বলে, আমাদের জন্যে আমাদের কাজ এবং তোমাদের জন্যে তোমাদের কাজ। তোমাদের প্রতি সালাম। আমরা অজ্ঞদের সাথে জড়িত হতে চাই না।
And when they hear vain talk, they turn away therefrom and say: "To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you: we seek not the ignorant." |
(আল কাসাস:
আয়াতঃ ৫৫) |

তারা বলে, যদি আমরা আপনার সাথে সুপথে আসি, তবে আমরা আমাদের দেশ থেকে উৎখাত হব। আমি কি তাদের জন্যে একটি নিরাপদ হরম প্রতিষ্ঠিত করিনি? এখানে সর্বপ্রকার ফল-মূল আমদানী হয় আমার দেয়া রিযিকস্বরূপ। কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই জানে না।
They say: "If we were to follow the guidance with thee, we should be snatched away from our land." Have We not established for them a secure sanctuary, to which are brought as tribute fruits of all kinds,- a provision from Ourselves? but most of them understand not. |

আয়াতঃ ৫৭) |

যাদের জন্যে শাস্তির আদেশ অবধারিত হয়েছে, তারা বলবে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা। এদেরকেই আমরা পথভ্রষ্ট করেছিলাম। আমরা তাদেরকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেছিলাম, যেমন আমরা পথভ্রষ্ট হয়েছিলাম। আমরা আপনার সামনে দায়মুক্ত হচ্ছি। তারা কেবল আমাদেরই এবাদত করত না।
Those against whom the charge will be proved, will say: "Our Lord! These are the ones whom we led astray: we led them astray, as we were astray ourselves: we free ourselves (from them) in Thy presence: it was not us they worshipped." |
(আল কাসাস:
আয়াতঃ ৬৩) |

মানুষ কি মনে করে যে, তারা একথা বলেই অব্যাহতি পেয়ে যাবে যে, আমরা বিশ্বাস করি এবং তাদেরকে পরীক্ষা করা হবে না?
Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? |
(আল আনকাবুত:
আয়াতঃ ২) |

কতক লোক বলে, আমরা আল্লাহর উপর বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি; কিন্তু আল্লাহর পথে যখন তারা নির্যাতিত হয়, তখন তারা মানুষের নির্যাতনকে আল্লাহর আযাবের মত মনে করে। যখন আপনার পালনকর্তার কাছ থেকে কোন সাহায্য আসে তখন তারা বলতে থাকে, আমরা তো তোমাদের সাথেই ছিলাম। বিশ্ববাসীর অন্তরে যা আছে, আল্লাহ কি তা সম্যক অবগত নন?
Then there are among men such as say, "We believe in Allah"; but when they suffer affliction in (the cause of) Allah, they treat men's oppression as if it were the Wrath of Allah! And if help comes (to thee) from thy Lord, they are sure to say, "We have (always) been with you!" Does not Allah know best all that is in the hearts of all creation? |

আয়াতঃ ১০) |

কাফেররা মুমিনদেরকে বলে, আমাদের পথ অনুসরণ কর। আমরা তোমাদের পাপভার বহন করব। অথচ তারা পাপভার কিছুতেই বহন করবে না। নিশ্চয় তারা মিথ্যাবাদী।
And the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Follow our path, and we will bear (the consequences) of your faults." Never in the least will they bear their faults: in fact they are liars! |
(আল আনকাবুত:
আয়াতঃ ১২) |

যখন আমার প্রেরিত ফেরেশতাগণ সুসংবাদ নিয়ে ইব্রাহীমের কাছে আগমন করল, তখন তারা বলল, আমরা এই জনপদের অধিবাসীদেরকে ধ্বংস করব। নিশ্চয় এর অধিবাসীরা জালেম।
When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime." |
(আল আনকাবুত:
আয়াতঃ ৩১) |

সে বলল, এই জনপদে তো লূতও রয়েছে। তারা বলল, সেখানে কে আছে, তা আমরা ভাল জানি। আমরা অবশ্যই তাকে ও তাঁর পরিবারবর্গকে রক্ষা করব তাঁর স্ত্রী ব্যতীত; সে ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্তদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত থাকবে।
He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there: we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!" |
(আল আনকাবুত:
আয়াতঃ ৩২) |

যখন আমার প্রেরিত ফেরেশতাগণ লূতের কাছে আগমন করল, তখন তাদের কারণে সে বিষন্ন হয়ে পড়ল এবং তার মন সংকীর্ণ হয়ে গেল। তারা বলল, ভয় করবেন না এবং দুঃখ করবেন না। আমরা আপনাকে ও আপনার পরিবারবর্গকে রক্ষা করবই আপনার স্ত্রী ব্যতীত, সে ধ্বংস প্রাপ্তদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত থাকবে।
And when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save thee and thy following, except thy wife: she is of those who lag behind. |
(আল আনকাবুত:
আয়াতঃ ৩৩) |

আমরা এই জনপদের অধিবাসীদের উপর আকাশ থেকে আযাব নাজিল করব তাদের পাপাচারের কারণে।
"For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious." |

আয়াতঃ ৩৪) |

তোমরা কিতাবধারীদের সাথে তর্ক-বিতর্ক করবে না, কিন্তু উত্তম পন্থায়; তবে তাদের সাথে নয়, যারা তাদের মধ্যে বে-ইনসাফ। এবং বল, আমাদের প্রতি ও তোমাদের প্রতি যা নাযিল করা হয়েছে, তাতে আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি। আমাদের উপাস্য ও তোমাদের উপাস্য একই এবং আমরা তাঁরই আজ্ঞাবহ।
And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)." |
(আল আনকাবুত:
আয়াতঃ ৪৬) |

যাদের জ্ঞান ও ঈমান দেয়া হয়েছে, তারা বলবে আমরা আল্লাহর কিতাব মতে পুনরুত্থান দিবস পর্যন্ত অবস্থান করেছি। এটাই পুনরুত্থান দিবস, কিন্তু তোমরা তা জানতে না।
But those endued with knowledge and faith will say: "Indeed ye did tarry, within Allah's Decree, to the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection: but ye - ye were not aware!" |

আয়াতঃ ৫৬) |

তাদেরকে যখন বলা হয়, আল্লাহ যা নাযিল করেছেন, তোমরা তার অনুসরণ কর, তখন তারা বলে, বরং আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে যে বিষয়ের উপর পেয়েছি, তারই অনুসরণ করব। শয়তান যদি তাদেরকে জাহান্নামের শাস্তির দিকে দাওয়াত দেয়, তবুও কি?
When they are told to follow the (Revelation) that Allah has sent down, they say: "Nay, we shall follow the ways that we found our fathers (following). "What! even if it is Satan beckoning them to the Penalty of the (Blazing) Fire? |

তারা বলে, আমরা মৃত্তিকায় মিশ্রিত হয়ে গেলেও পুনরায় নতুন করে সৃজিত হব কি? বরং তারা তাদের পালনকর্তার সাক্ষাতকে অস্বীকার করে।
And they say: "What! when we lie, hidden and lost, in the earth, shall we indeed be in a Creation renewed? Nay, they deny the Meeting with their Lord. |

যদি আপনি দেখতেন যখন অপরাধীরা তাদের পালনকর্তার সামনে নতশির হয়ে বলবে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমরা দেখলাম ও শ্রবণ করলাম। এখন আমাদেরকে পাঠিয়ে দিন, আমরা সৎকর্ম করব। আমরা দৃঢ়বিশ্বাসী হয়ে গেছি।
If only thou couldst see when the guilty ones will bend low their heads before their Lord, (saying:) "Our Lord! We have seen and we have heard: Now then send us back (to the world): we will work righteousness: for we do indeed (now) believe." |
(সেজদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১২) |

যেদিন অগ্নিতে তাদের মুখমন্ডল ওলট পালট করা হবে; সেদিন তারা বলবে, হায়। আমরা যদি আল্লাহর আনুগত্য করতাম ও রসূলের আনুগত্য করতাম।
The Day that their faces will be turned upside down in the Fire, they will say: "Woe to us! Would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!" |

তারা আরও বলবে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমরা আমাদের নেতা ও বড়দের কথা মেনেছিলাম, অতঃপর তারা আমাদের পথভ্রষ্ট করেছিল।
And they would say: "Our Lord! We obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us as to the (right) Path. |
(আল আহযাব:
আয়াতঃ ৬৭) |

কাফেররা বলে, আমরা কি তোমাদেরকে এমন ব্যক্তির সন্ধান দেব, যে তোমাদেরকে খবর দেয় যে; তোমরা সম্পুর্ণ ছিন্ন-বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে গেলেও তোমরা নতুন সৃজিত হবে।
The Unbelievers say (in ridicule): "Shall we point out to you a man that will tell you, when ye are all scattered to pieces in disintegration, that ye shall (then be raised) in a New Creation? |

বলুন, নভোমন্ডল ও ভূ-মন্ডল থেকে কে তোমাদের কে রিযিক দেয়। বলুন, আল্লাহ। আমরা অথবা তোমরা সৎপথে অথবা স্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তিতে আছি ও আছ?
Say: "Who gives you sustenance, from the heavens and the earth?" Say: "It is Allah; and certain it is that either we or ye are on right guidance or in manifest error!" |

বলুন, আমাদের অপরাধের জন্যে তোমরা জিজ্ঞাসিত হবে না এবং তোমরা যা কিছু কর, সে সম্পর্কে আমরা জিজ্ঞাসিত হব না।
Say: "Ye shall not be questioned as to our sins, nor shall we be questioned as to what ye do." |

কাফেররা বলে, আমরা কখনও এ কোরআনে বিশ্বাস করব না এবং এর পূর্ববর্তী কিতাবেও নয়। আপনি যদি পাপিষ্ঠদেরকে দেখতেন, যখন তাদেরকে তাদের পালনকর্তার সামনে দাঁড় করানো হবে, , তখন তারা পরস্পর কথা কাটাকাটি করবে। যাদেরকে দুর্বল মনে করা হত, তারা অহংকারীদেরকে বলবে, তোমরা না থাকলে আমরা অবশ্যই মুমিন হতাম।
The Unbelievers say: "We shall neither believe in this scripture nor in (any) that (came) before it." Couldst thou but see when the wrong-doers will be made to stand before their Lord, throwing back the word (of blame) on one another! Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers!" |

অহংকারীরা দুর্বলকে বলবে, তোমাদের কাছে হেদায়েত আসার পর আমরা কি তোমাদেরকে বাধা দিয়েছিলাম? বরং তোমরাই তো ছিলে অপরাধী।
The arrogant ones will say to those who had been despised: "Was it we who kept you back from Guidance after it reached you? Nay, rather, it was ye who transgressed. |

দুর্বলরা অহংকারীদেরকে বলবে, বরং তোমরাই তো দিবারাত্রি চক্রান্ত করে আমাদেরকে নির্দেশ দিতে যেন আমরা আল্লাহকে না মানি এবং তাঁর অংশীদার সাব্যস্ত করি তারা যখন শাস্তি দেখবে, তখন মনের অনুতাপ মনেই রাখবে। বস্তুতঃ আমি কাফেরদের গলায় বেড়ী পরাব। তারা সে প্রতিফলই পেয়ে থাকে যা তারা করত।
Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Nay! it was a plot (of yours) by day and by night: Behold! Ye (constantly) ordered us to be ungrateful to Allah and to attribute equals to Him!" They will declare (their) repentance when they see the Penalty: We shall put yokes on the necks of the Unbelievers: It would only be a requital for their (ill) Deeds. |

কোন জনপদে সতর্ককারী প্রেরণ করা হলেই তার বিত্তশালী অধিবাসীরা বলতে শুরু করেছে, তোমরা যে বিষয়সহ প্রেরিত হয়েছ, আমরা তা মানি না।
Never did We send a warner to a population, but the wealthy ones among them said: "We believe not in the (Message) with which ye have been sent." |

তারা আরও বলেছে, আমরা ধনে-জনে সমৃদ্ধ, সুতরাং আমরা শাস্তিপ্রাপ্ত হব না।
They said: "We have more in wealth and in sons, and we cannot be punished." |
(সাবা:
আয়াতঃ ৩৫) |
| 272 |
ফেরেশতারা বলবে, আপনি পবিত্র, আমরা আপনার পক্ষে, তাদের পক্ষে নই, বরং তারা জিনদের পূজা করত। তাদের অধিকাংশই শয়তানে বিশ্বাসী।
They will say, "Glory to Thee! our (tie) is with Thee - as Protector - not with them. Nay, but they worshipped the Jinns: most of them believed in them." |

তারা বলবে, আমরা সত্যে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলাম। কিন্তু তারা এতদূর থেকে তার নাগাল পাবে কেমন করে?
And they will say, "We do believe (now) in the (Truth)"; but how could they receive (Faith) from a position (so far off,- |

সেখানে তারা আর্ত চিৎকার করে বলবে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, বের করুন আমাদেরকে, আমরা সৎকাজ করব, পূর্বে যা করতাম, তা করব না। (আল্লাহ বলবেন) আমি কি তোমাদেরকে এতটা বয়স দেইনি, যাতে যা চিন্তা করার বিষয় চিন্তা করতে পারতে? উপরন্তু তোমাদের কাছে সতর্ককারীও আগমন করেছিল। অতএব আস্বাদন কর। জালেমদের জন্যে কোন সাহায্যকারী নেই।
Therein will they cry aloud (for assistance): "Our Lord! Bring us out: we shall work righteousness, not the (deeds) we used to do!" - "Did We not give you long enough life so that he that would should receive admonition? and (moreover) the warner came to you. So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds): for the wrong-doers there is no helper." |

আয়াতঃ ৩৭) |

আমি তাদের নিকট দুজন রসূল প্রেরণ করেছিলাম, অতঃপর ওরা তাদেরকে মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করল। তখন আমি তাদেরকে শক্তিশালী করলাম তৃতীয় একজনের মাধ্যমে। তারা সবাই বলল, আমরা তোমাদের প্রতি প্রেরিত হয়েছি।
When We (first) sent to them two messengers, they rejected them: But We strengthened them with a third: they said, "Truly, we have been sent on a mission to you." |
(ইয়াসীন:
আয়াতঃ ১৪) |
| 276 |
রাসূলগণ বলল, আমাদের পরওয়ারদেগার জানেন, আমরা অবশ্যই তোমাদের প্রতি প্রেরিত হয়েছি।
They said: "Our Lord doth know that we have been sent on a mission to you: |
(ইয়াসীন:
আয়াতঃ ১৬) |
| 277 |
তারা বলল, আমরা তোমাদেরকে অশুভ-অকল্যাণকর দেখছি। যদি তোমরা বিরত না হও, তবে অবশ্যই তোমাদেরকে প্রস্তর বর্ষণে হত্যা করব এবং আমাদের পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদেরকে যন্ত্রনাদায়ক শাস্তি স্পর্শ করবে।
The (people) said: "for us, we augur an evil omen from you: if ye desist not, we will certainly stone you. And a grievous punishment indeed will be inflicted on you by us." |
(ইয়াসীন:
আয়াতঃ ১৮) |
| 278 |
রসূলগণ বলল, তোমাদের অকল্যাণ তোমাদের সাথেই! এটা কি এজন্যে যে, আমরা তোমাদেরকে সদুপদেশ দিয়েছি? বস্তুতঃ তোমরা সীমা লংঘনকারী সম্প্রদায় বৈ নও।
They said: "Your evil omens are with yourselves: (deem ye this an evil omen). If ye are admonished? Nay, but ye are a people transgressing all bounds!" |
(ইয়াসীন:
আয়াতঃ ১৯) |
| 279 |
যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয়, আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে যা দিয়েছেন, তা থেকে ব্যয় কর। তখন কাফেররা মুমিনগণকে বলে, ইচ্ছা করলেই আল্লাহ যাকে খাওয়াতে পারতেন, আমরা তাকে কেন খাওয়াব? তোমরা তো স্পষ্ট বিভ্রান্তিতে পতিত রয়েছ।
And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)?- Ye are in nothing but manifest error." |
(ইয়াসীন:
আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |
| 280 |
আমরা যখন মরে যাব, এবং মাটি ও হাড়ে পরিণত হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি আমরা পুনরুত্থিত হব?
"What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ১৬) |

আমরা তোমাদেরকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেছিলাম। কারণ আমরা নিজেরাই পথভ্রষ্ট ছিলাম।
"We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ৩২) |
| 282 |
এবং বলত, আমরা কি এক উম্মাদ কবির কথায় আমাদের উপাস্যদেরকে পরিত্যাগ করব।
And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ৩৬) |

আমরা যখন মরে যাব এবং মাটি ও হাড়ে পরিণত হব, তখনও কি আমরা প্রতিফল প্রাপ্ত হব?
"'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ৫৩) |

আমাদের প্রথম মৃত্যু ছাড়া এবং আমরা শাস্তি প্রাপ্তও হব না।
"Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ৫৯) |

এবং আমরাই সারিবদ্ধভাবে দন্ডায়মান থাকি।
"And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ১৬৫) |
| 286 |
এবং আমরাই আল্লাহর পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করি।
"And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ১৬৬) |
| 287 |
তবে আমরা অবশ্যই আল্লাহর মনোনীত বান্দা হতাম।
"We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" |
(আস-সাফফাত:
আয়াতঃ ১৬৯) |

আমরা সাবেক ধর্মে এ ধরনের কথা শুনিনি। এটা মনগড়া ব্যাপার বৈ নয়।
"We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" |
(ছোয়াদ:
আয়াতঃ ৭) |
| 289 |
যখন তারা দাউদের কাছে অনুপ্রবেশ করল, তখন সে সন্ত্রস্ত হয়ে পড়ল। তারা বললঃ ভয় করবেন না; আমরা বিবদমান দুটি পক্ষ, একে অপরের প্রতি বাড়াবাড়ি করেছি। অতএব, আমাদের মধ্যে ন্যায়বিচার করুন, অবিচার করবেন না। আমাদেরকে সরল পথ প্রদর্শন করুন।
When they entered the presence of David, and he was terrified of them, they said: "Fear not: we are two disputants, one of whom has wronged the other: Decide now between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, but guide us to the even Path.. |
(ছোয়াদ:
আয়াতঃ ২২) |
| 290 |
তারা আরও বলবে, আমাদের কি হল যে, আমরা যাদেরকে মন্দ লোক বলে গণ্য করতাম, তাদেরকে এখানে দেখছি না।
And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? |
(ছোয়াদ:
আয়াতঃ ৬২) |
| 291 |
আমরা কি অহেতুক তাদেরকে ঠাট্টার পাত্র করে নিয়েছিলাম, না আমাদের দৃষ্টি ভুল করছে?
"Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" |
(ছোয়াদ:
আয়াতঃ ৬৩) |
| 292 |
জেনে রাখুন, নিষ্ঠাপূর্ণ এবাদত আল্লাহরই নিমিত্ত। যারা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত অপরকে উপাস্যরূপে গ্রহণ করে রেখেছে এবং বলে যে, আমরা তাদের এবাদত এ জন্যেই করি, যেন তারা আমাদেরকে আল্লাহর নিকটবর্তী করে দেয়। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ তাদের মধ্যে তাদের পারস্পরিক বিরোধপূর্ণ বিষয়ের ফয়সালা করে দেবেন। আল্লাহ মিথ্যাবাদী কাফেরকে সৎপথে পরিচালিত করেন না।
Is it not to Allah that sincere devotion is due? But those who take for protectors other than Allah (say): "We only serve them in order that they may bring us nearer to Allah." Truly Allah will judge between them in that wherein they differ. But Allah guides not such as are false and ungrateful. |
(আল-যুমার:
আয়াতঃ ৩) |
| 293 |
তারা বলবে, সমস্ত প্রশংসা আল্লাহর, যিনি আমাদের প্রতি তাঁর ওয়াদা পূর্ণ করেছেন এবং আমাদেরকে এ ভূমির উত্তরাধিকারী করেছেন। আমরা জান্নাতের যেখানে ইচ্ছা বসবাস করব। মেহনতকারীদের পুরস্কার কতই চমৎকার।
They will say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has truly fulfilled His Promise to us, and has given us (this) land in heritage: We can dwell in the Garden as we will: how excellent a reward for those who work (righteousness)!" |
(আল-যুমার:
আয়াতঃ ৭৪) |
| 294 |
যখন তারা জাহান্নামে পরস্পর বিতর্ক করবে, অতঃপর দূর্বলরা অহংকারীদেরকে বলবে, আমরা তোমাদের অনুসারী ছিলাম। তোমরা এখন জাহান্নামের আগুনের কিছু অংশ আমাদের থেকে নিবৃত করবে কি?
Behold, they will dispute with each other in the Fire! The weak ones (who followed) will say to those who had been arrogant, "We but followed you: Can ye then take (on yourselves) from us some share of the Fire? |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |
| 295 |
অহংকারীরা বলবে, আমরা সবাই তো জাহান্নামে আছি। আল্লাহ তাঁর বান্দাদের ফয়সালা করে দিয়েছেন।
Those who had been arrogant will say: "We are all in this (Fire)! Truly, Allah has judged between (his) Servants!" |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৪৮) |
| 296 |
আল্লাহ ব্যতীত? তারা বলবে, তারা আমাদের কাছ থেকে উধাও হয়ে গেছে; বরং আমরা তো ইতিপূর্বে কোন কিছুর পূজাই করতাম না। এমনি ভাবে আল্লাহ কাফেরদেরকে বিভ্রান্ত করেন।
"In derogation of Allah?" They will reply: "They have left us in the lurch: Nay, we invoked not, of old, anything (that had real existence)." Thus does Allah leave the Unbelievers to stray. |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৭৪) |
| 297 |
তারা যখন আমার শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করল, তখন বলল, আমরা এক আল্লাহর প্রতি বিশ্বাস করলাম এবং যাদেরকে শরীক করতাম, তাদেরকে পরিহার করলাম।
But when they saw Our Punishment, they said: "We believe in Allah,- the one Allah - and we reject the partners we used to join with Him." |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৮৪) |
| 298 |
তারা বলে আপনি যে বিষয়ের দিকে আমাদের কে দাওয়াত দেন, সে বিষয়ে আমাদের অন্তর আবরণে আবৃত, আমাদের কর্ণে আছে বোঝা এবং আমাদের ও আপনার মাঝখানে আছে অন্তরাল। অতএব, আপনি আপনার কাজ করুন এবং আমরা আমাদের কাজ করি।
They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears in a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" |
(হা-মীম সেজদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৫) |
| 299 |
অতঃপর তিনি আকাশের দিকে মনোযোগ দিলেন যা ছিল ধুম্রকুঞ্জ, অতঃপর তিনি তাকে ও পৃথিবীকে বললেন, তোমরা উভয়ে আস ইচ্ছায় অথবা অনিচ্ছায়। তারা বলল, আমরা স্বেচ্ছায় আসলাম।
Moreover He comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience." |
(হা-মীম সেজদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১১) |
| 300 |
যখন তাদের কাছে রসূলগণ এসেছিলেন সম্মুখ দিক থেকে এবং পিছন দিক থেকে এ কথা বলতে যে, তোমরা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত কারও পূজা করো না। তারা বলেছিল, আমাদের পালনকর্তা ইচ্ছা করলে অবশ্যই ফেরেশতা প্রেরণ করতেন, অতএব, আমরা তোমাদের আনীত বিষয় অমান্য করলাম।
Behold, the messengers came to them, from before them and behind them, (preaching): "Serve none but Allah." They said, "If our Lord had so pleased, He would certainly have sent down angels (to preach). Now we reject your mission (altogether)." |
(হা-মীম সেজদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১৪) |
| 301 |
কাফেররা বলবে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! যেসব জিন ও মানুষ আমাদেরকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেছিল, তাদেরকে দেখিয়ে দাও, আমরা তাদেরকে পদদলিত করব, যাতে তারা যথেষ্ট অপমানিত হয়।
And the Unbelievers will say: "Our Lord! Show us those, among Jinns and men, who misled us: We shall crush them beneath our feet, so that they become the vilest (before all)." |
(হা-মীম সেজদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ২৯) |
| 302 |
ইহকালে ও পরকালে আমরা তোমাদের বন্ধু। সেখানে তোমাদের জন্য আছে যা তোমাদের মন চায় এবং সেখানে তোমাদের জন্যে আছে তোমরা দাবী কর।
"We are your protectors in this life and in the Hereafter: therein shall ye have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall ye have all that ye ask for!- |
(হা-মীম সেজদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৩১) |
| 303 |
কেয়ামতের জ্ঞান একমাত্র তাঁরই জানা। তাঁর জ্ঞানের বাইরে কোন ফল আবরণমুক্ত হয় না। এবং কোন নারী গর্ভধারণ ও সন্তান প্রসব করে না। যেদিন আল্লাহ তাদেরকে ডেকে বলবেন, আমার শরীকরা কোথায়? সেদিন তারা বলবে, আমরা আপনাকে বলে দিয়েছি যে, আমাদের কেউ এটা স্বীকার করে না।
To Him is referred the Knowledge of the Hour (of Judgment: He knows all): No date-fruit comes out of its sheath, nor does a female conceive (within her womb) nor bring forth the Day that (Allah) will propound to them the (question), "Where are the partners (ye attributed to Me?" They will say, "We do assure thee not one of us can bear witness!" |
(হা-মীম সেজদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৪৭) |
| 304 |
যাতে তোমরা তাদের পিঠের উপর আরোহণ কর। অতঃপর তোমাদের পালনকর্তার নেয়ামত স্মরণ কর এবং বল পবিত্র তিনি, যিনি এদেরকে আমাদের বশীভূত করে দিয়েছেন এবং আমরা এদেরকে বশীভূত করতে সক্ষম ছিলাম না।
In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ১৩) |
| 305 |
আমরা অবশ্যই আমাদের পালনকর্তার দিকে ফিরে যাব।
"And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ১৪) |
| 306 |
তারা বলে, রহমান আল্লাহ ইচছা না করলে আমরা ওদের পূজা করতাম না। এ বিষয়ে তারা কিছুই জানে না। তারা কেবল অনুমানে কথা বলে।
("Ah!") they say, "If it had been the will of (Allah) Most Gracious, we should not have worshipped such (deities)!" Of that they have no knowledge! they do nothing but lie! |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ২০) |
| 307 |
বরং তারা বলে, আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে পেয়েছি এক পথের পথিক এবং আমরা তাদেরই পদাংক অনুসরণ করে পথপ্রাপ্ত।
Nay! they say: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we do guide ourselves by their footsteps." |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ২২) |

এমনিভাবে আপনার পূর্বে আমি যখন কোন জনপদে কোন সতর্ককারী প্রেরণ করেছি, তখনই তাদের বিত্তশালীরা বলেছে, আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে পেয়েছি এক পথের পথিক এবং আমরা তাদেরই পদাংক অনুসরণ করে চলছি।
Just in the same way, whenever We sent a Warner before thee to any people, the wealthy ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we will certainly follow in their footsteps." |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ২৩) |
| 309 |
সে বলত, তোমরা তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে যে বিষয়ের উপর পেয়েছ, আমি যদি তদপেক্ষা উত্তম বিষয় নিয়ে তোমাদের কাছে এসে থাকি, তবুও কি তোমরা তাই বলবে? তারা বলত তোমরা যে বিষয়সহ প্রেরিত হয়েছ, তা আমরা মানব না।
He said: "What! Even if I brought you better guidance than that which ye found your fathers following?" They said: "For us, we deny that ye (prophets) are sent (on a mission at all)." |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ২৪) |
| 310 |
যখন সত্য তাদের কাছে আগমন করল, তখন তারা বলল, এটা যাদু, আমরা একে মানি না।
But when the Truth came to them, they said: "This is sorcery, and we do reject it." |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ৩০) |
| 311 |
তারা বলল, হে যাদুকর, তুমি আমাদের জন্যে তোমার পালনকর্তার কাছে সে বিষয় প্রার্থনা কর, যার ওয়াদা তিনি তোমাকে দিয়েছেন; আমরা অবশ্যই সৎপথ অবলম্বন করব।
And they said, "O thou sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance." |
(যুখরুফ:
আয়াতঃ ৪৯) |

হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা আমাদের উপর থেকে শাস্তি প্রত্যাহার করুন, আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করছি।
(They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!" |

প্রথম মৃত্যুর মাধ্যমেই আমাদের সবকিছুর অবসান হবে এবং আমরা পুনরুত্থিত হব না।
"There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. |

তারা বলে, আমাদের পার্থিব জীবনই তো শেষ; আমরা মরি ও বাঁচি মহাকালই আমাদেরকে ধ্বংস করে। তাদের কাছে এ ব্যাপারে কোন জ্ঞান নেই। তারা কেবল অনুমান করে কথা বলে।
And they say: "What is there but our life in this world? We shall die and we live, and nothing but time can destroy us." But of that they have no knowledge: they merely conjecture: |

যখন বলা হত, আল্লাহর ওয়াদা সত্য এবং কেয়ামতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই, তখন তোমরা বলতে আমরা জানি না কেয়ামত কি ? আমরা কেবল ধারণাই করি এবং এ বিষয়ে আমরা নিশ্চিত নই।
"And when it was said that the promise of Allah was true, and that the Hour- there was no doubt about its (coming), ye used to say, 'We know not what is the hour: we only think it is an idea, and we have no firm assurance.'" |

তারা বলল, হে আমাদের সম্প্রদায়, আমরা এমন এক কিতাব শুনেছি, যা মূসার পর অবর্তীণ হয়েছে। এ কিতাব পূর্ববর্তী সব কিতাবের প্রত্যায়ন করে, সত্যধর্ম ও সরলপথের দিকে পরিচালিত করে।
They said, "O our people! We have heard a Book revealed after Moses, confirming what came before it: it guides (men) to the Truth and to a Straight Path. |

এটা এজন্য যে, তারা তাদেরকে বলে, যারা আল্লাহর অবতীর্ণ কিতাব অপছন্দ করেঃ আমরা কোন কোন ব্যাপারে তোমাদের কথা মান্য করব। আল্লাহ তাদের গোপন পরামর্শ অবগত আছেন।
This, because they said to those who hate what Allah has revealed, "We will obey you in part of (this) matter"; but Allah knows their (inner) secrets. |

মরুবাসীদের মধ্যে যারা গৃহে বসে রয়েছে, তারা আপনাকে বলবেঃ আমরা আমাদের ধন-সম্পদ ও পরিবার-পরিজনের কাজে ব্যস্ত ছিলাম। অতএব, আমাদের পাপ মার্জনা করান। তারা মুখে এমন কথা বলবে, যা তাদের অন্তরে নেই। বলুনঃ আল্লাহ তোমাদের ক্ষতি অথবা উপকার সাধনের ইচ্ছা করলে কে তাকে বিরত রাখতে পারে? বরং তোমরা যা কর, আল্লাহ সে বিষয় পরিপূর্ণ জ্ঞাত।
The desert Arabs who lagged behind will say to thee: "We were engaged in (looking after) our flocks and herds, and our families: do thou then ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if His Will is to give you some loss or to give you some profit? But Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do. |

মরুবাসীরা বলেঃ আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি। বলুনঃ তোমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করনি; বরং বল, আমরা বশ্যতা স্বীকার করেছি। এখনও তোমাদের অন্তরে বিশ্বাস জন্মেনি। যদি তোমরা আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূলের আনুগত্য কর, তবে তোমাদের কর্ম বিন্দুমাত্রও নিস্ফল করা হবে না। নিশ্চয়, আল্লাহ ক্ষমাশীল, পরম মেহেরবান।
The desert Arabs say, "We believe." Say, "Ye have no faith; but ye (only) say, 'We have submitted our wills to Allah,' For not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if ye obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not belittle aught of your deeds: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." |

আমরা মরে গেলে এবং মৃত্তিকায় পরিণত হয়ে গেলেও কি পুনরুত্থিত হব? এ প্রত্যাবর্তন সুদূরপরাহত।
"What! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)." |

তারা বললঃ আমরা এক অপরাধী সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতি প্রেরিত হয়েছি,
They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- |

তারা বলবেঃ আমরা ইতিপূর্বে নিজেদের বাসগৃহে ভীত-কম্পিত ছিলাম।
They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. |
(আত্ব তূর:
আয়াতঃ ২৬) |
| 323 |
আমরা পূর্বেও আল্লাহকে ডাকতাম। তিনি সৌজন্যশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
"Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" |

আয়াতঃ ২৮) |

তারা কি বলতে চায়ঃ সে একজন কবি আমরা তার মৃত্যু-দুর্ঘটনার প্রতীক্ষা করছি।
Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" |

তারা বলেছিলঃ আমরা কি আমাদেরই একজনের অনুসরণ করব? তবে তো আমরা বিপথগামী ও বিকার গ্রস্থরূপে গণ্য হব।
For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! |

আয়াতঃ ২৪) |

তারা বলতঃ আমরা যখন মরে অস্থি ও মৃত্তিকায় পরিণত হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি পুনরুত্থিত হব?
And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?- |

বলবেঃ আমরা তো ঋণের চাপে পড়ে গেলাম;
(Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): |

বরং আমরা হূত সর্বস্ব হয়ে পড়লাম।
"Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)" |

যেদিন কপট বিশ্বাসী পুরুষ ও কপট বিশ্বাসিনী নারীরা মুমিনদেরকে বলবেঃ তোমরা আমাদের জন্যে অপেক্ষা কর, আমরাও কিছু আলো নিব তোমাদের জ্যোতি থেকে। বলা হবেঃ তোমরা পিছনে ফিরে যাও ও আলোর খোঁজ কর। অতঃপর উভয় দলের মাঝখানে খাড়া করা হবে একটি প্রাচীর, যার একটি দরজা হবে। তার অভ্যন্তরে থাকবে রহমত এবং বাইরে থাকবে আযাব।
One Day will the Hypocrites- men and women - say to the Believers: "Wait for us! Let us borrow (a Light) from your Light!" It will be said: "Turn ye back to your rear! then seek a Light (where ye can)!" So a wall will be put up betwixt them, with a gate therein. Within it will be Mercy throughout, and without it, all alongside, will be (Wrath and) Punishment! |

তারা মুমিনদেরকে ডেকে বলবেঃ আমরা কি তোমাদের সাথে ছিলাম না? তারা বলবেঃ হঁ্যা কিন্তু তোমরা নিজেরাই নিজেদেরকে বিপদগ্রস্ত করেছ। প্রতীক্ষা করেছ, সন্দেহ পোষণ করেছ এবং অলীক আশার পেছনে বিভ্রান্ত হয়েছ, অবশেষে আল্লাহর আদেশ পৌঁছেছে। এই সবই তোমাদেরকে আল্লাহ সম্পর্কে প্রতারিত করেছে।
(Those without) will call out, "Were we not with you?" (The others) will reply, "True! but ye led yourselves into temptation; ye looked forward (to our ruin); ye doubted (Allah's Promise); and (your false) desires deceived you; until there issued the Command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you in respect of Allah. |

আপনি কি ভেবে দেখেননি, যাদেরকে কানাঘুষা করতে নিষেধ করা হয়েছিল অতঃপর তারা নিষিদ্ধ কাজেরই পুনরাবৃত্তি করে এবং পাপাচার, সীমালংঘন এবং রসূলের অবাধ্যতার বিষয়েই কানাঘুষা করে। তারা যখন আপনার কাছে আসে, তখন আপনাকে এমন ভাষায় সালাম করে, যদ্দ্বারা আল্লাহ আপনাকে সালাম করেননি। তারা মনে মনে বলেঃ আমরা যা বলি, তজ্জন্যে আল্লাহ আমাদেরকে শাস্তি দেন না কেন? জাহান্নামই তাদের জন্যে যথেষ্ট। তারা তাতে প্রবেশ করবে। কতই না নিকৃষ্ট সেই জায়গা।
Turnest thou not thy sight towards those who were forbidden secret counsels yet revert to that which they were forbidden (to do)? And they hold secret counsels among themselves for iniquity and hostility, and disobedience to the Messenger. And when they come to thee, they salute thee, not as Allah salutes thee, (but in crooked ways): And they say to themselves, "Why does not Allah punish us for our words?" Enough for them is Hell: In it will they burn, and evil is that destination! |

আপনি কি মুনাফিকদেরকে দেখেন নি? তারা তাদের কিতাবধারী কাফের ভাইদেরকে বলেঃ তোমরা যদি বহিস্কৃত হও, তবে আমরা অবশ্যই তোমাদের সাথে দেশ থেকে বের হয়ে যাব এবং তোমাদের ব্যাপারে আমরা কখনও কারও কথা মানব না। আর যদি তোমরা আক্রান্ত হও, তবে আমরা অবশ্যই তোমাদেরকে সাহায্য করব। আল্লাহ তা’আলা সাক্ষ্য দেন যে, ওরা নিশ্চয়ই মিথ্যাবাদী।
Hast thou not observed the Hypocrites say to their misbelieving brethren among the People of the Book? - "If ye are expelled, we too will go out with you, and we will never hearken to any one in your affair; and if ye are attacked (in fight) we will help you". But Allah is witness that they are indeed liars. |

আয়াতঃ ১১) |

তোমাদের জন্যে ইব্রাহীম ও তাঁর সঙ্গীগণের মধ্যে চমৎকার আদর্শ রয়েছে। তারা তাদের সম্প্রদায়কে বলেছিলঃ তোমাদের সাথে এবং তোমরা আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে যার এবাদত কর, তার সাথে আমাদের কোন সম্পর্ক নেই। আমরা তোমাদের মানি না। তোমরা এক আল্লাহর প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন না করলে তোমাদের মধ্যে ও আমাদের মধ্যে চিরশত্রুতা থাকবে। কিন্তু ইব্রাহীমের উক্তি তাঁর পিতার উদ্দেশে এই আদর্শের ব্যতিক্রম। তিনি বলেছিলেনঃ আমি অবশ্যই তোমার জন্য ক্ষমাপ্রার্থনা করব। তোমার উপকারের জন্যে আল্লাহর কাছে আমার আর কিছু করার নেই। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! আমরা তোমারই উপর ভরসা করেছি, তোমারই দিকে মুখ করেছি এবং তোমারই নিকট আমাদের প্রত্যাবর্তন।
There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: "We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah: we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone": But not when Abraham said to his father: "I will pray for forgiveness for thee, though I have no power (to get) aught on thy behalf from Allah." (They prayed): "Our Lord! in Thee do we trust, and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to Thee is (our) Final Goal. |

আয়াতঃ ৪) |

মুমিনগণ, তোমরা আল্লাহর সাহায্যকারী হয়ে যাও, যেমন ঈসা ইবনে-মরিয়ম তার শিষ্যবর্গকে বলেছিল, আল্লাহর পথে কে আমার সাহায্যকারী হবে? শিষ্যবর্গ বলেছিলঃ আমরা আল্লাহর পথে সাহায্যকারী। অতঃপর বনী-ইসরাঈলের একদল বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করল এবং একদল কাফের হয়ে গেল। যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছিল, আমি তাদেরকে তাদের শত্রুদের মোকাবেলায় শক্তি যোগালাম, ফলে তারা বিজয়ী হল।
O ye who believe! Be ye helpers of Allah: As said Jesus the son of Mary to the Disciples, "Who will be my helpers to (the work of) Allah?" Said the disciples, "We are Allah's helpers!" then a portion of the Children of Israel believed, and a portion disbelieved: But We gave power to those who believed, against their enemies, and they became the ones that prevailed. |

আয়াতঃ ১৪) |

মুনাফিকরা আপনার কাছে এসে বলেঃ আমরা সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছি যে আপনি নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহর রসূল। আল্লাহ জানেন যে, আপনি অবশ্যই আল্লাহর রসূল এবং আল্লাহ সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছেন যে, মুনাফিকরা অবশ্যই মিথ্যাবাদী।
When the Hypocrites come to thee, they say, "We bear witness that thou art indeed the Messenger of Allah." Yea, Allah knoweth that thou art indeed His Messenger, and Allah beareth witness that the Hypocrites are indeed liars. |

আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 336 |
তারাই বলেঃ আমরা যদি মদীনায় প্রত্যাবর্তন করি তবে সেখান থেকে সবল অবশ্যই দুর্বলকে বহিস্কৃত করবে। শক্তি তো আল্লাহ তাঁর রসূল ও মুমিনদেরই কিন্তু মুনাফিকরা তা জানে না।
They say, "If we return to Medina, surely the more honourable (element) will expel therefrom the meaner." But honour belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and to the Believers; but the Hypocrites know not. |
(মুনাফিকুন:
আয়াতঃ ৮) |

তারা বলবেঃ হ্যাঁ আমাদের কাছে সতর্ককারী আগমন করেছিল, অতঃপর আমরা মিথ্যারোপ করেছিলাম এবং বলেছিলামঃ আল্লাহ তা’আলা কোন কিছু নাজিল করেননি। তোমরা মহাবিভ্রান্তিতে পড়ে রয়েছ।
They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" |
(আল মুলক:
আয়াতঃ ৯) |
| 338 |
তারা আরও বলবেঃ যদি আমরা শুনতাম অথবা বুদ্ধি খাটাতাম, তবে আমরা জাহান্নামবাসীদের মধ্যে থাকতাম না।
They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" |

বলুন, তিনি পরম করুণাময়, আমরা তাতে বিশ্বাস রাখি এবং তাঁরই উপর ভরসা করি। সত্ত্বরই তোমরা জানতে পারবে, কে প্রকাশ্য পথ-ভ্রষ্টতায় আছে।
Say: "He is (Allah) Most Gracious: We have believed in Him, and on Him have we put our trust: So, soon will ye know which (of us) it is that is in manifest error." |

আয়াতঃ ২৯) |

অতঃপর যখন তারা বাগান দেখল, তখন বললঃ আমরা তো পথ ভূলে গেছি।
But when they saw the (garden), they said: "We have surely lost our way: |

বরং আমরা তো কপালপোড়া,
"Indeed we are shut out (of the fruits of our labour)!" |

আয়াতঃ ২৭) |

তারা বললঃ আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তার পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করছি, নিশ্চিতই আমরা সীমালংঘনকারী ছিলাম।
They said: "Glory to our Lord! Verily we have been doing wrong!" |

আয়াতঃ ২৯) |

তারা বললঃ হায়! দুর্ভোগ আমাদের আমরা ছিলাম সীমাতিক্রমকারী।
They said: "Alas for us! We have indeed transgressed! |
(আল কলম:
আয়াতঃ ৩১) |
| 344 |
সম্ভবতঃ আমাদের পালনকর্তা পরিবর্তে এর চাইতে উত্তম বাগান আমাদেরকে দিবেন। আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তার কাছে আশাবাদী।
"It may be that our Lord will give us in exchange a better (garden) than this: for we do turn to Him (in repentance)!" |

আয়াতঃ ৩২) |

বলুনঃ আমার প্রতি ওহী নাযিল করা হয়েছে যে, জিনদের একটি দল কোরআন শ্রবণ করেছে, অতঃপর তারা বলেছেঃ আমরা বিস্ময়কর কোরআন শ্রবণ করেছি;
Say: It has been revealed to me that a company of Jinns listened (to the Qur'an). They said, 'We have really heard a wonderful Recital! |
(আল জিন:
আয়াতঃ ১) |
| 346 |
যা সৎপথ প্রদর্শন করে। ফলে আমরা তাতে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি। আমরা কখনও আমাদের পালনকর্তার সাথে কাউকে শরীক করব না।
'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. |

| 347 |
অথচ আমরা মনে করতাম, মানুষ ও জিন কখনও আল্লাহ তা’আলা সম্পর্কে মিথ্যা বলতে পারে না।
'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. |
(আল জিন:
আয়াতঃ ৫) |

আমরা আকাশ পর্যবেক্ষণ করছি, অতঃপর দেখতে পেয়েছি যে, কঠোর প্রহরী ও উল্কাপিন্ড দ্বারা আকাশ পরিপূর্ণ।
'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. |

আয়াতঃ ৮) |

আমরা আকাশের বিভিন্ন ঘাঁটিতে সংবাদ শ্রবণার্থে বসতাম। এখন কেউ সংবাদ শুনতে চাইলে সে জলন্ত উল্কাপিন্ড ওঁৎ পেতে থাকতে দেখে।
'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. |

আয়াতঃ ৯) |
| 350 |
আমরা জানি না পৃথিবীবাসীদের অমঙ্গল সাধন করা অভীষ্ট, না তাদের পালনকর্তা তাদের মঙ্গল সাধন করার ইচ্ছা রাখেন।
'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. |
(আল জিন:
আয়াতঃ ১০) |
| 351 |
আমাদের কেউ কেউ সৎকর্মপরায়ণ এবং কেউ কেউ এরূপ নয়। আমরা ছিলাম বিভিন্ন পথে বিভক্ত।
'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. |
(আল জিন:
আয়াতঃ ১১) |
| 352 |
আমরা বুঝতে পেরেছি যে, আমরা পৃথিবীতে আল্লাহ তা’আলাকে পরাস্ত করতে পারব না এবং পলায়ন করেও তাকে অপারক করত পরব না।
'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. |

আয়াতঃ ১২) |
| 353 |
আমরা যখন সুপথের নির্দেশ শুনলাম, তখন তাতে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলাম। অতএব, যে তার পালনকর্তার প্রতি বিশ্বাস করে, সে লোকসান ও জোর-জবরের আশংকা করে না।
'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. |
(আল জিন:
আয়াতঃ ১৩) |

তারা বলবেঃ আমরা নামায পড়তাম না,
They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; |
(আল মুদ্দাসসির:
আয়াতঃ ৪৩) |

আমরা সমালোচকদের সাথে সমালোচনা করতাম।
"But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; |
(আল মুদ্দাসসির:
আয়াতঃ ৪৫) |
| 356 |
এবং আমরা প্রতিফল দিবসকে অস্বীকার করতাম।
"And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, |
(আল মুদ্দাসসির:
আয়াতঃ ৪৬) |
| 357 |
তারা বলেঃ কেবল আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টির জন্যে আমরা তোমাদেরকে আহার্য দান করি এবং তোমাদের কাছে কোন প্রতিদান ও কৃতজ্ঞতা কামনা করি না।
(Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. |

আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তার তরফ থেকে এক ভীতিপ্রদ ভয়ংকর দিনের ভয় রাখি।
"We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." |
(আদ-দাহর:
আয়াতঃ ১০) |

তারা বলেঃ আমরা কি উলটো পায়ে প্রত্যাবর্তিত হবই-
They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? |
(আন-নযিআ'ত:
আয়াতঃ ১০) |
