নিশ্চিতই যারা কাফের হয়েছে তাদেরকে আপনি ভয় প্রদর্শন করুন আর নাই করুন তাতে কিছুই আসে যায় না, তারা ঈমান আনবে না।
As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe. |
(আল বাকারা:

হে মুসলমানগণ, তোমরা কি আশা কর যে, তারা তোমাদের কথায় ঈমান আনবে? তাদের মধ্যে একদল ছিল, যারা আল্লাহর বাণী শ্রবণ করত; অতঃপর বুঝে-শুনে তা পরিবর্তন করে দিত এবং তারা তা অবগত ছিল।
Can ye (o ye men of Faith) entertain the hope that they will believe in you?- Seeing that a party of them heard the Word of Allah, and perverted it knowingly after they understood it. |

সৎকর্ম শুধু এই নয় যে, পূর্ব কিংবা পশ্চিমদিকে মুখ করবে, বরং বড় সৎকাজ হল এই যে, ঈমান আনবে আল্লাহর উপর কিয়ামত দিবসের উপর, ফেরেশতাদের উপর এবং সমস্ত নবী-রসূলগণের উপর, আর সম্পদ ব্যয় করবে তাঁরই মহব্বতে আত্নীয়-স্বজন, এতীম-মিসকীন, মুসাফির-ভিক্ষুক ও মুক্তিকামী ক্রীতদাসদের জন্যে। আর যারা নামায প্রতিষ্ঠা করে, যাকাত দান করে এবং যারা কৃত প্রতিজ্ঞা সম্পাদনকারী এবং অভাবে, রোগে-শোকে ও যুদ্ধের সময় ধৈর্য্য ধারণকারী তারাই হল সত্যাশ্রয়ী, আর তারাই পরহেযগার।
It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah-fearing. |

বনী-ইসরাঈলদেরকে তাদের নবী আরো বললেন, তালূতের নেতৃত্বের চিহ্ন হলো এই যে, তোমাদের কাছে একটা সিন্দুক আসবে তোমাদের পালকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের মনের সন্তুষ্টির নিমিত্তে। আর তাতে থাকবে মূসা, হারুন এবং তাঁদের সন্তানবর্গের পরিত্যক্ত কিছু সামগ্রী। সিন্দুকটিকে বয়ে আনবে ফেরেশতারা। তোমরা যদি ঈমানদার হয়ে থাক, তাহলে এতে তোমাদের জন্য নিশ্চিতই পরিপূর্ণ নিদর্শন রয়েছে।
And (further) their Prophet said to them: "A Sign of his authority is that there shall come to you the Ark of the covenant, with (an assurance) therein of security from your Lord, and the relics left by the family of Moses and the family of Aaron, carried by angels. In this is a symbol for you if ye indeed have faith." |

আর আল্লাহ যখন নবীগনের কাছ থেকে অস্বীকার গ্রহন করলেন যে, আমি যা কিছু তোমাদের দান করেছি কিতাব ও জ্ঞান এবং অতঃপর তোমাদের নিকট কোন রসূল আসেন তোমাদের কিতাবকে সত্য বলে দেয়ার জন্য, তখন সে রসূলের প্রতি ঈমান আনবে এবং তার সাহায্য করবে। তিনি বললেন, ‘তোমার কি অঙ্গীকার করছো এবং এই শর্তে আমার ওয়াদা গ্রহণ করে নিয়েছ? তারা বললো, ‘আমরা অঙ্গীকার করেছি’। তিনি বললেন, তাহলে এবার সাক্ষী থাক। আর আমিও তোমাদের সাথে সাক্ষী রইলাম।
Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses." |

তোমরাই হলে সর্বোত্তম উম্মত, মানবজাতির কল্যানের জন্যেই তোমাদের উদ্ভব ঘটানো হয়েছে। তোমরা সৎকাজের নির্দেশ দান করবে ও অন্যায় কাজে বাধা দেবে এবং আল্লাহর প্রতি ঈমান আনবে। আর আহলে-কিতাবরা যদি ঈমান আনতো, তাহলে তা তাদের জন্য মঙ্গলকর হতো। তাদের মধ্যে কিছু তো রয়েছে ঈমানদার আর অধিকাংশই হলো পাপাচারী।
Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors. |

আর আহলে-কিতাবদের মধ্যে যত শ্রেণী রয়েছে তারা সবাই ঈমান আনবে ঈসার উপর তাদের মৃত্যুর পূর্বে। আর কেয়ামতের দিন তাদের জন্য সাক্ষীর উপর সাক্ষী উপস্থিত হবে।
And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his death; and on the Day of Judgment he will be a witness against them;- |

তারা কি প্রত্যক্ষ করেনি আকাশ ও পৃথিবীর রাজ্য সম্পর্কে এবং যা কিছু সৃষ্টি করেছেন আল্লাহ তা’আলা বস্তু সামগ্রী থেকে এবং এ ব্যাপারে যে, তাদের সাথে কৃত ওয়াদার সময় নিকটবর্তী হয়ে এসেছে? বস্তুতঃ এরপর কিসের উপর ঈমান আনবে?
Do they see nothing in the government of the heavens and the earth and all that Allah hath created? (Do they not see) that it may well be that their terms is nigh drawing to an end? In what message after this will they then believe? |

এমনিভাবে সপ্রমাণিত হয়ে গেছে তোমার পরওয়ারদেগারের বাণী সেসব নাফরমানের ব্যাপারে যে, এরা ঈমান আনবে না।
Thus is the word of thy Lord proved true against those who rebel: Verily they will not believe. |

অনন্তর আমি নূহের পরে বহু নবী-রসূল পাঠিয়েছি তাদের সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতি। তারপর তাদের কাছে তারা প্রকাশ্য দলীল-প্রমাণ উপস্থাপন করেছে, কিন্তু তাদের দ্বারা এমনটি হয়নি যে, ঈমান আনবে সে ব্যাপারে, যাকে তারা ইতিপূর্বে মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করেছিল। এভাবেই আমি মোহর এঁটে দেই সীমালংঘনকারীদের অন্তরসমূহের উপর।
Then after him We sent (many) messengers to their peoples: they brought them Clear Signs, but they would not believe what they had already rejected beforehand. Thus do We seal the hearts of the transgressors. |

যাদের ব্যাপারে তোমার পরওয়ারদেগারের সিদ্ধান্ত নির্ধারিত হয়ে গেছে তারা ঈমান আনবে না।
Those against whom the word of thy Lord hath been verified would not believe- |

আয়াতঃ ৯৬) |
| 12 |
তিনি বলেন, উহা তোমাদের কাছে আল্লাহই আনবেন, যদি তিনি ইচ্ছা করেন তখন তোমরা পালিয়ে তাঁকে অপারগ করতে পারবে না।
He said: "Truly, Allah will bring it on you if He wills,- and then, ye will not be able to frustrate it! |
(হুদ:
আয়াতঃ ৩৩) |
| 13 |
আর নূহ (আঃ) এর প্রতি ওহী প্রেরণ করা হলো যে, যারা ইতিমধ্যেই ঈমান এনেছে তাদের ছাড়া আপনার জাতির অন্য কেউ ঈমান আনবেনা এতএব তাদের কার্যকলাপে বিমর্ষ হবেন না।
It was revealed to Noah: "None of thy people will believe except those who have believed already! So grieve no longer over their (evil) deeds. |
(হুদ:
আয়াতঃ ৩৬) |
| 14 |
আর হে আমার জাতি! আমার সাথে জিদ করে তোমরা নূহ বা হুদ অথবা সালেহ (আঃ) এর কওমের মত নিজেদের উপর আযাব ডেকে আনবে না। আর লূতের জাতি তো তোমাদের থেকে খুব দূরে নয়।
"And O my people! let not my dissent (from you) cause you to sin, lest ye suffer a fate similar to that of the people of Noah or of Hud or of Salih, nor are the people of Lut far off from you! |

আয়াতঃ ৮৯) |
| 15 |
আপনার পালনকর্তাই তাদেরকে একত্রিত করে আনবেন। নিশ্চয় তিনি প্রজ্ঞাবান, জ্ঞানময়।
Assuredly it is thy Lord Who will gather them together: for He is perfect in Wisdom and Knowledge. |

আয়াতঃ ২৫) |
| 16 |
যিনি আপনার প্রতি কোরআনের বিধান পাঠিয়েছেন, তিনি অবশ্যই আপনাকে স্বদেশে ফিরিয়ে আনবেন। বলুন আমার পালনকর্তা ভাল জানেন কে হেদায়েত নিয়ে এসেছে এবং কে প্রকাশ্য বিভ্রান্তিতে আছে।
Verily He Who ordained the Qur'an for thee, will bring thee back to the Place of Return. Say: "My Lord knows best who it is that brings true guidance, and who is in manifest error." |
