আর তোমরা সে গ্রন্থের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন কর, যা আমি অবতীর্ণ করেছি সত্যবক্তা হিসেবে তোমাদের কাছে। বস্তুতঃ তোমরা তার প্রাথমিক অস্বীকারকারী হয়ো না আর আমার আয়াতের অল্প মূল্য দিও না। এবং আমার (আযাব) থেকে বাঁচ।
And believe in what I reveal, confirming the revelation which is with you, and be not the first to reject Faith therein, nor sell My Signs for a small price; and fear Me, and Me alone. |

তারা বলে, আমাদের হৃদয় অর্ধাবৃত। এবং তাদের কুফরের কারণে আল্লাহ অভিসম্পাত করেছেন। ফলে তারা অল্পই ঈমান আনে।
They say, "Our hearts are the wrappings (which preserve Allah's Word: we need no more)." Nay, Allah's curse is on them for their blasphemy: Little is it they believe. |

নিশ্চয় যারা সেসব বিষয় গোপন করে, যা আল্লাহ কিতাবে নাযিল করেছেন এবং সেজন্য অল্প মূল্য গ্রহণ করে, তারা আগুন ছাড়া নিজের পেটে আর কিছুই ঢুকায় না। আর আল্লাহ কেয়ামতের দিন তাদের সাথে না কথা বলবেন, না তাদের পবিত্র করা হবে, বস্তুতঃ তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে বেদনাদায়ক আযাব।
Those who conceal Allah's revelations in the Book, and purchase for them a miserable profit,- they swallow into themselves naught but Fire; Allah will not address them on the Day of Resurrection. Nor purify them: Grievous will be their penalty. |

পিতা-মাতা ও আত্নীয়-স্বজনদের পরিত্যক্ত সম্পত্তিতে পুরুষদেরও অংশ আছে এবং পিতা-মাতা ও আত্নীয়-স্বজনদের পরিত্যক্ত সম্পত্তিতে নারীদেরও অংশ আছে; অল্প হোক কিংবা বেশী। এ অংশ নির্ধারিত।
From what is left by parents and those nearest related there is a share for men and a share for women, whether the property be small or large,-a determinate share. |

কোন কোন ইহুদী তার লক্ষ্য থেকে কথার মোড় ঘুড়িয়ে নেয় এবং বলে, আমরা শুনেছি কিন্তু অমান্য করছি। তারা আরো বলে, শোন, না শোনার মত। মুখ বাঁকিয়ে দ্বীনের প্রতি তাচ্ছিল্য প্রদর্শনের উদ্দেশে বলে, রায়েনা’ (আমাদের রাখাল)। অথচ যদি তারা বলত যে, আমরা শুনেছি ও মান্য করেছি এবং (যদি বলত, ) শোন এবং আমাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য রাখ, তবে তাই ছিল তাদের জন্য উত্তম আর সেটাই ছিল যথার্থ ও সঠিক। কিন্তু আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি অভিসম্পাত করেছেন তাদের কুফরীর দরুন। অতএব, তারা ঈমান আনছে না, কিন্তু অতি অল্পসংখ্যক।
Of the Jews there are those who displace words from their (right) places, and say: "We hear and we disobey"; and "Hear what is not Heard"; and "Ra'ina"; with a twist of their tongues and a slander to Faith. If only they had said: "What hear and we obey"; and "Do hear"; and "Do look at us"; it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allah hath cursed them for their Unbelief; and but few of them will believe. |

আয়াতঃ ৪৬) |

আর যদি আমি তাদের নির্দেশ দিতাম যে, নিজেদের প্রাণ ধ্বংস করে দাও কিংবা নিজেদের নগরী ছেড়ে বেরিয়ে যাও, তবে তারা তা করত না; অবশ্য তাদের মধ্যে অল্প কয়েকজন। যদি তারা তাই করে যা তাদের উপদেশ দেয়া হয়, তবে তা অবশ্যই তাদের জন্য উত্তম এং তাদেরকে নিজের ধর্মের উপর সুদৃঢ় রাখার জন্য তা উত্তম হবে।
If We had ordered them to sacrifice their lives or to leave their homes, very few of them would have done it: But if they had done what they were (actually) told, it would have been best for them, and would have gone farthest to strengthen their (faith); |

আয়াতঃ ৬৬) |

আর যখন তাদের কছে পৌঁছে কোন সংবাদ শান্তি-সংক্রান্ত কিংবা ভয়ের, তখন তারা সেগুলোকে রটিয়ে দেয়। আর যদি সেগুলো পৌঁছে দিত রসূল পর্যন্ত কিংবা তাদের শাসকদের পর্যন্ত, তখন অনুসন্ধান করে দেখা যেত সেসব বিষয়, যা তাতে রয়েছে অনুসন্ধান করার মত। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ ও করুণা যদি তোমাদের উপর বিদ্যমান না থাকত তবে তোমাদের অল্প কতিপয় লোক ব্যতীত সবাই শয়তানের অনুসরণ করতে শুরু করত!
When there comes to them some matter touching (Public) safety or fear, they divulge it. If they had only referred it to the Messenger, or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would have Tested it from them (direct). Were it not for the Grace and Mercy of Allah unto you, all but a few of you would have fallen into the clutches of Satan. |

অবশ্যই মুনাফেকরা প্রতারণা করছে আল্লাহর সাথে, অথচ তারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের প্রতারিত করে। বস্তুতঃ তারা যখন নামাযে দাঁড়ায় তখন দাঁড়ায়, একান্ত শিথিল ভাবে লোক দেখানোর জন্য। আর তারা আল্লাহকে অল্পই স্মরণ করে।
The Hypocrites - they think they are over-reaching Allah, but He will over-reach them: When they stand up to prayer, they stand without earnestness, to be seen of men, but little do they hold Allah in remembrance; |

অতএব, তারা যে শাস্তিপ্রাপ্ত হয়েছিল, তা ছিল তাদেরই অঙ্গীকার ভঙ্গর জন্য এবং অন্যায়ভাবে রসূলগণকে হত্যা করার কারণে এবং তাদের এই উক্তির দরুন যে, আমাদের হৃদয় আচ্ছন্ন। অবশ্য তা নয়, বরং কুফরীর কারণে স্বয়ং আল্লাহ তাদের অন্তরের উপর মোহর এঁটে দিয়েছেন। ফলে এরা ঈমান আনে না কিন্তু অতি অল্পসংখ্যক।
(They have incurred divine displeasure): In that they broke their covenant; that they rejected the signs of Allah; that they slew the Messengers in defiance of right; that they said, "Our hearts are the wrappings (which preserve Allah's Word; We need no more)";- Nay, Allah hath set the seal on their hearts for their blasphemy, and little is it they believe;- |

অতএব, তাদের অঙ্গীকার ভঙ্গের দরুন আমি তাদের উপর অভিসম্পাত করেছি এবং তাদের অন্তরকে কঠোর করে দিয়েছি। তারা কালামকে তার স্থান থেকে বিচ্যুত করে দেয় এবং তাদেরকে যে উপদেশ দেয়া হয়েছিল, তারা তা থেকে উপকার লাভ করার বিষয়টি বিস্মৃত হয়েছে। আপনি সর্বদা তাদের কোন না কোন প্রতারণা সম্পর্কে অবগত হতে থাকেন, তাদের অল্প কয়েকজন ছাড়া। অতএব, আপনি তাদেরকে ক্ষমা করুন এবং মার্জনা করুন। আল্লাহ অনুগ্রহকারীদেরকে ভালবাসেন।
But because of their breach of their covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard; they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the message that was sent them, nor wilt thou cease to find them- barring a few - ever bent on (new) deceits: but forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds): for Allah loveth those who are kind. |
(আল মায়িদাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১৩) |

আর তোমরা অল্পই উপদেশ গ্রহণ কর। অনেক জনপদকে আমি ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি। তাদের কাছে আমার আযাব রাত্রি বেলায় পৌছেছে অথবা দ্বিপ্রহরে বিশ্রামরত অবস্থায়।
How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest. |

আয়াতঃ ৪) |
| 12 |
আমি তোমাদেরকে পৃথিবীতে ঠাই দিয়েছি এবং তোমাদের জীবিকা নির্দিষ্ট করে দিয়েছি। তোমরা অল্পই কৃতজ্ঞতা স্বীকার কর।
It is We Who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give! |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ১০) |
| 13 |
যে শহর উৎকৃষ্ট, তার ফসল তার প্রতিপালকের নির্দেশে উৎপন্ন হয় এবং যা নিকৃষ্ট তাতে অল্পই ফসল উৎপন্ন হয়। এমনিভাবে আমি আয়াতসমূহ ঘুরিয়ে ফিরিয়ে বর্ণনা করি কৃতজ্ঞ সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যে।
From the land that is clean and good, by the will of its Cherisher, springs up produce, (rich) after its kind: but from the land that is bad, springs up nothing but that which is niggardly: thus do we explain the signs by various (symbols) to those who are grateful. |

আয়াতঃ ৫৮) |
| 14 |
তোমরা পথে ঘাটে এ কারণে বসে থেকো না যে, আল্লাহ বিশ্বাসীদেরকে হুমকি দিবে, আল্লাহর পথে বাধা সৃষ্টি করবে এবং তাতে বক্রতা অনুসন্ধান করবে। স্মরণ কর, যখন তোমরা সংখ্যায় অল্প ছিলে অতঃপর আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে অধিক করেছেন এবং লক্ষ্য কর কিরূপ অশুভ পরিণতি হয়েছে অনর্থকারীদের।
"And squat not on every road, breathing threats, hindering from the path of Allah those who believe in Him, and seeking in it something crooked; But remember how ye were little, and He gave you increase. And hold in your mind's eye what was the end of those who did mischief. |
(আল আ'রাফ:
আয়াতঃ ৮৬) |
| 15 |
আর স্মরণ কর, যখন তোমরা ছিলে অল্প, পরাজিত অবস্থায় পড়েছিলে দেশে; ভীত-সস্ত্রস্ত্র ছিলে যে, তোমাদের না অন্যেরা ছোঁ মেরে নিয়ে যায়। অতঃপর তিনি তোমাদিগকে আশ্রয়ের ঠিকানা দিয়েছেন, স্বীয় সাহায্যের দ্বারা তোমাদিগকে শক্তি দান করেছেন এবং পরিচ্ছন্ন জীবিকা দিয়েছেন যাতে তোমরা শুকরিয়া আদায় কর।
Call to mind when ye were a small (band), despised through the land, and afraid that men might despoil and kidnap you; But He provided a safe asylum for you, strengthened you with His aid, and gave you Good things for sustenance: that ye might be grateful. |
(আল-আনফাল:
আয়াতঃ ২৬) |
| 16 |
আল্লাহ যখন তোমাকে স্বপ্নে সেসব কাফেরের পরিমাণ অল্প করে দেখালেন; বেশী করে দেখালে তোমরা কাপুরুষতা অবলম্বন করতে এবং কাজের বেলায় বিপদ সৃষ্টি করতে। কিন্তু আল্লাহ বাঁচিয়ে দিয়েছেন। তিনি অতি উত্তমভাবেই জানেন; যা কিছু অন্তরে রয়েছে।
Remember in thy dream Allah showed them to thee as few: if He had shown them to thee as many, ye would surely have been discouraged, and ye would surely have disputed in (your) decision; but Allah saved (you): for He knoweth well the (secrets) of (all) hearts. |
(আল-আনফাল:
আয়াতঃ ৪৩) |
| 17 |
আর যখন তোমাদেরকে দেখালেন সে সৈন্যদল মোকাবেলার সময় তোমাদের চোখে অল্প এবং তোমাদেরকে দেখালেন তাদের চোখে বেশী, যাতে আল্লাহ সে কাজ করে নিতে পারেন যা ছিল নির্ধারিত। আর সব কাজই আল্লাহর নিকট গিয়ে পৌছায়।
And remember when ye met, He showed them to you as few in your eyes, and He made you appear as contemptible in their eyes: that Allah might accomplish a matter already enacted. For to Allah do all questions go back (for decision). |
(আল-আনফাল:
আয়াতঃ ৪৪) |
| 18 |
হে ঈমানদারগণ, তোমাদের কি হল, যখন আল্লাহর পথে বের হবার জন্যে তোমাদের বলা হয়, তখন মাটি জড়িয়ে ধর, তোমরা কি আখেরাতের পরিবর্তে দুনিয়ার জীবনে পরিতুষ্ট হয়ে গেলে? অথচ আখেরাতের তুলনায় দুনিয়ার জীবনের উপকরণ অতি অল্প।
O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. |
(আত তাওবাহ:
আয়াতঃ ৩৮) |

আর তারা অল্প-বিস্তর যা কিছু ব্যয় করে, যত প্রান্তর তারা অতিক্রম করে, তা সবই তাদের নামে লেখা হয়, যেন আল্লাহ তাদের কৃতকর্মসমূহের উত্তম বিনিময় প্রদান করেন।
Nor could they spend anything (for the cause) - small or great- nor cut across a valley, but the deed is inscribed to their credit: that Allah may requite their deed with the best (possible reward). |
(আত তাওবাহ:
আয়াতঃ ১২১) |
| 20 |
অবশেষে যখন আমার হুকুম এসে পৌঁছাল এবং ভুপৃষ্ঠ উচ্ছসিত হয়ে উঠল, আমি বললামঃ সর্বপ্রকার জোড়ার দুটি করে এবং যাদের উপরে পূর্বহেߦ#2439; হুকুম হয়ে গেছে তাদের বাদি দিয়ে, আপনার পরিজনবর্গ ও সকল ঈমানদারগণকে নৌকায় তুলে নিন। বলাবাহুল্য অতি অল্পসংখ্যক লোকই তাঁর সাথে ঈমান এনেছিল।
At length, behold! there came Our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We said: "Embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family - except those against whom the word has already gone forth,- and the Believers." but only a few believed with him. |

আর অবশ্যই আমার প্রেরিত ফেরেশতারা ইব্রাহীমেরে কাছে সুসংবাদ নিয়ে এসেছিল তারা বলল সালাম, তিনিও বললেন-সালাম। অতঃপর অল্পক্ষণের মধ্যেই তিনি একটি ভুনা করা বাছুর নিয়ে এলেন!
There came Our messengers to Abraham with glad tidings. They said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" and hastened to entertain them with a roasted calf. |

আয়াতঃ ৬৯) |
| 22 |
এবং এরপরে আসবে দূর্ভিক্ষের সাত বছর; তোমরা এ দিনের জন্যে যা রেখেছিলে, তা খেয়ে যাবে, কিন্তু অল্প পরিমাণ ব্যতীত, যা তোমরা তুলে রাখবে।
"Then will come after that (period) seven dreadful (years), which will devour what ye shall have laid by in advance for them,- (all) except a little which ye shall have (specially) guarded. |
(ইউসূফ:
আয়াতঃ ৪৮) |

তারা তো আপনাকে এ ভুখন্ড থেকে উৎখাত করে দিতে চুড়ান্ত চেষ্টা করেছিল যাতে আপনাকে এখান থেকে বহিস্কার করে দেয়া যায়। তখন তারাও আপনার পর সেখানে অল্প কালই মাত্র টিকে থাকত।
Their purpose was to scare thee off the land, in order to expel thee; but in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after thee, except for a little while. |
(বনী ইসরাঈল:
আয়াতঃ ৭৬) |
| 24 |
অজ্ঞাত বিষয়ে অনুমানের উপর ভিত্তি করে এখন তারা বলবেঃ তারা ছিল তিন জন; তাদের চতুর্থটি তাদের কুকুর। একথাও বলবে; তারা পাঁচ জন। তাদের ছষ্ঠটি ছিল তাদের কুকুর। আরও বলবেঃ তারা ছিল সাত জন। তাদের অষ্টমটি ছিল তাদের কুকুর। বলুনঃ আমার পালনকর্তা তাদের সংখ্যা ভাল জানেন। তাদের খবর অল্প লোকই জানে। সাধারণ আলোচনা ছাড়া আপনি তাদের সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করবেন না এবং তাদের অবস্থা সম্পর্কে তাদের কাউকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ ও করবেন না।
(Some) say they were three, the dog being the fourth among them; (others) say they were five, the dog being the sixth,- doubtfully guessing at the unknown; (yet others) say they were seven, the dog being the eighth. Say thou: "My Lord knoweth best their number; It is but few that know their (real case)." Enter not, therefore, into controversies concerning them, except on a matter that is clear, nor consult any of them about (the affair of) the Sleepers. |

আয়াতঃ ২২) |
| 25 |
তিনি তোমাদের কান, চোখ ও অন্তঃকরণ সৃষ্টি করেছেন; তোমরা খুবই অল্প কৃতজ্ঞতা স্বীকার করে থাক।
It is He Who has created for you (the faculties of) hearing, sight, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give! |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ৭৮) |
| 26 |
আল্লাহ বলবেনঃ তোমরা তাতে অল্পদিনই অবস্থান করেছ, যদি তোমরা জানতে?
He will say: "Ye stayed not but a little,- if ye had only known! |
(আল মু'মিনূন:
আয়াতঃ ১১৪) |
| 27 |
মুনাফিকরা এবং যাদের অন্তরে রোগ আছে এবং মদীনায় গুজব রটনাকারীরা যদি বিরত না হয়, তবে আমি অবশ্যই তাদের বিরুদ্ধে আপনাকে উত্তেজিত করব। অতঃপর এই শহরে আপনার প্রতিবেশী অল্পই থাকবে।
Truly, if the Hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and those who stir up sedition in the City, desist not, We shall certainly stir thee up against them: Then will they not be able to stay in it as thy neighbours for any length of time: |

তারা সোলায়মানের ইচ্ছানুযায়ী দুর্গ, ভাস্কর্য, হাউযসদৃশ বৃহদাকার পাত্র এবং চুল্লির উপর স্থাপিত বিশাল ডেগ নির্মাণ করত। হে দাউদ পরিবার! কৃতজ্ঞতা সহকারে তোমরা কাজ করে যাও। আমার বান্দাদের মধ্যে অল্পসংখ্যকই কৃতজ্ঞ।
They worked for him as he desired, (making) arches, images, basons as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in their places): "Work ye, sons of David, with thanks! but few of My servants are grateful!" |
(সাবা:
আয়াতঃ ১৩) |
| 29 |
দাউদ বললঃ সে তোমার দুম্বাটিকে নিজের দুম্বাগুলোর সাথে সংযুক্ত করার দাবী করে তোমার প্রতি অবিচার করেছে। শরীকদের অনেকেই একে অপরের প্রতি জুলুম করে থাকে। তবে তারা করে না, যারা আল্লাহর প্রতি বিশ্বাসী ও সৎকর্ম সম্পাদনকারী। অবশ্য এমন লোকের সংখ্যা অল্প। দাউদের খেয়াল হল যে, আমি তাকে পরীক্ষা করছি। অতঃপর সে তার পালনকর্তার কাছে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করল, সেজদায় লুটিয়ে পড়ল এবং তাঁর দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করল।
(David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"... and David gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance). |
(ছোয়াদ:
আয়াতঃ ২৪) |
| 30 |
অন্ধ ও চক্ষুষ্মান সমান নয়, আর যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে ও সৎকর্ম করে এবং কুকর্মী। তোমরা অল্পই অনুধাবন করে থাক।
Not equal are the blind and those who (clearly) see: Nor are (equal) those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and those who do evil. Little do ye learn by admonition! |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ৫৮) |

এবং অল্পসংখ্যক পরবর্তীদের মধ্যে থেকে।
And a few from those of later times. |
(আল ওয়াক্বিয়া:
আয়াতঃ ১৪) |

বলুন, তিনিই তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং দিয়েছেন কর্ণ, চক্ষু ও অন্তর। তোমরা অল্পই কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর।
Say: "It is He Who has created you (and made you grow), and made for you the faculties of hearing, seeing, feeling and understanding: little thanks it is ye give. |
