যদি খাতক অভাবগ্রস্থ হয়, তবে তাকে সচ্ছলতা আসা পর্যন্ত সময় দেয়া উচিত। আর যদি ক্ষমা করে দাও, তবে তা খুবই উত্তম যদি তোমরা উপলব্ধি কর।
If the debtor is in a difficulty, grant him time Till it is easy for him to repay. But if ye remit it by way of charity, that is best for you if ye only knew. |

যাতে তারা তাদের কল্যাণের স্থান পর্যন্ত পৌছে এবং নির্দিষ্ট দিনগুলোতে আল্লাহর নাম স্মরণ করে তাঁর দেয়া চতুস্পদ জন্তু যবেহ করার সময়। অতঃপর তোমরা তা থেকে আহার কর এবং দুঃস্থ-অভাবগ্রস্থকে আহার করাও।
"That they may witness the benefits (provided) for them, and celebrate the name of Allah, through the Days appointed, over the cattle which He has provided for them (for sacrifice): then eat ye thereof and feed the distressed ones in want. |

শুন, তোমরাই তো তারা, যাদেরকে আল্লাহর পথে ব্যয় করার আহবান জানানো হচ্ছে, অতঃপর তোমাদের কেউ কেউ কৃপণতা করছে। যারা কৃপণতা করছে, তারা নিজেদের প্রতিই কৃপণতা করছে। আল্লাহ অভাবমুক্ত এবং তোমরা অভাবগ্রস্থ। যদি তোমরা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নাও, তবে তিনি তোমাদের পরিবর্তে অন্য জাতিকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করবেন, এরপর তারা তোমাদের মত হবে না।
Behold, ye are those invited to spend (of your substance) in the Way of Allah: But among you are some that are niggardly. But any who are niggardly are so at the expense of their own souls. But Allah is free of all wants, and it is ye that are needy. If ye turn back (from the Path), He will substitute in your stead another people; then they would not be like you! |
