তোমাদের উপর যুদ্ধ ফরয করা হয়েছে, অথচ তা তোমাদের কাছে অপছন্দনীয়। পক্ষান্তরে তোমাদের কাছে হয়তো কোন একটা বিষয় পছন্দসই নয়, অথচ তা তোমাদের জন্য কল্যাণকর। আর হয়তোবা কোন একটি বিষয় তোমাদের কাছে পছন্দনীয় অথচ তোমাদের জন্যে অকল্যাণকর। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহই জানেন, তোমরা জান না।
Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not. |

হে ঈমাণদারগণ! বলপূর্বক নারীদেরকে উত্তরাধিকারে গ্রহন করা তোমাদের জন্যে হালাল নয় এবং তাদেরকে আটক রেখো না যাতে তোমরা তাদেরকে যা প্রদান করেছ তার কিয়দংশ নিয়ে নাও; কিন্তু তারা যদি কোন প্রকাশ্য অশ্লীলতা করে! নারীদের সাথে সদ্ভাবে জীবন-যাপন কর। অতঃপর যদি তাদেরকে অপছন্দ কর, তবে হয়ত তোমরা এমন এক জিনিসকে অপছন্দ করছ, যাতে আল্লাহ, অনেক কল্যাণ রেখেছেন।
O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may Take away part of the dower ye have given them,-except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good. |

তার সম্প্রদায়ের দাম্ভিক সর্দাররা বললঃ হে শোয়ায়েব, আমরা অবশ্যই তোমাকে এবং তোমার সাথে বিশ্বাস স্থাপনকারীদেরকে শহর থেকে বের করে দেব অথবা তোমরা আমাদের ধর্মে প্রত্যাবর্তন করবে। শোয়ায়েব বললঃ আমরা অপছন্দ করলেও কি ?
The leaders, the arrogant party among his people, said: "O Shu'aib! we shall certainly drive thee out of our city - (thee) and those who believe with thee; or else ye (thou and they) shall have to return to our ways and religion." He said: "What! even though we do detest (them)? |

পেছনে থেকে যাওয়া লোকেরা আল্লাহর রসূল থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে বসে থাকতে পেরে আনন্দ লাভ করেছে; আর জান ও মালের দ্বারা আল্লাহর রাহে জেহাদ করতে অপছন্দ করেছে এবং বলেছে, এই গরমের মধ্যে অভিযানে বের হয়ো না। বলে দাও, উত্তাপে জাহান্নামের আগুন প্রচন্ডতম। যদি তাদের বিবেচনা শক্তি থাকত।
Those who were left behind (in the Tabuk expedition) rejoiced in their inaction behind the back of the Messenger of Allah: they hated to strive and fight, with their goods and their persons, in the cause of Allah: they said, "Go not forth in the heat." Say, "The fire of Hell is fiercer in heat." If only they could understand! |

এ সবের মধ্যে যেগুলো মন্দকাজ, সেগুলো তোমার পালনকর্তার কাছে অপছন্দনীয়।
Of all such things the evil is hateful in the sight of thy Lord. |
(বনী ইসরাঈল:
আয়াতঃ ৩৮) |

না তারা বলে যে, তিনি পাগল ? বরং তিনি তাদের কাছে সত্য নিয়ে আগমন করেছেন এবং তাদের অধিকাংশ সত্যকে অপছন্দ করে।
Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. |

অতএব, তোমরা আল্লাহকে খাঁটি বিশ্বাস সহকারে ডাক, যদিও কাফেররা তা অপছন্দ করে।
Call ye, then, upon Allah with sincere devotion to Him, even though the Unbelievers may detest it. |
(আল-মু'মিন:
আয়াতঃ ১৪) |

এটা এজন্য যে, তারা তাদেরকে বলে, যারা আল্লাহর অবতীর্ণ কিতাব অপছন্দ করেঃ আমরা কোন কোন ব্যাপারে তোমাদের কথা মান্য করব। আল্লাহ তাদের গোপন পরামর্শ অবগত আছেন।
This, because they said to those who hate what Allah has revealed, "We will obey you in part of (this) matter"; but Allah knows their (inner) secrets. |
(মুহাম্মদ:
আয়াতঃ ২৬) |

এটা এজন্যে যে, তারা সেই বিষয়ের অনুসরণ করে, যা আল্লাহর অসন্তোষ সৃষ্টি করে এবং আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টিকে অপছন্দ করে। ফলে তিনি তাদের কর্মসমূহ ব্যর্থ করে দেন।
This because they followed that which called forth the Wrath of Allah, and they hated Allah's good pleasure; so He made their deeds of no effect. |

আয়াতঃ ২৮) |
| 10 |
তারা মুখের ফুঁৎকারে আল্লাহর আলো নিভিয়ে দিতে চায়। আল্লাহ তাঁর আলোকে পূর্ণরূপে বিকশিত করবেন যদিও কাফেররা তা অপছন্দ করে।
Their intention is to extinguish Allah's Light (by blowing) with their mouths: But Allah will complete (the revelation of) His Light, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it). |

তিনি তাঁর রসূলকে পথ নির্দেশ ও সত্যধর্ম নিয়ে প্রেরণ করেছেন, যাতে একে সবধর্মের উপর প্রবল করে দেন যদিও মুশরিকরা তা অপছন্দ করে।
It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, that he may proclaim it over all religion, even though the Pagans may detest (it). |
