কি আশ্চর্য, যখন তারা কোন অঙ্গীকারে আবদ্ধ হয়, তখন তাদের একদল তা ছুঁড়ে ফেলে, বরং অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাস করে না।
Is it not (the case) that every time they make a covenant, some party among them throw it aside?- Nay, Most of them are faithless. |

কিরূপে? তারা তোমাদের উপর জয়ী হলে তোমাদের আত্নীয়তার ও অঙ্গীকারের কোন মর্যাদা দেবে না। তারা মুখে তোমাদের সন্তুষ্ট করে, কিন্তু তাদের অন্তরসমূহ তা অস্বীকার করে, আর তাদের অধিকাংশ প্রতিশ্রুতি ভঙ্গকারী।
How (can there be such a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked. |

তারা মর্যাদা দেয় না কোন মুসলমানের ক্ষেত্রে আত্নীয়তার, আর না অঙ্গীকারের। আর তারাই সীমালংঘনকারী।
In a Believer they respect not the ties either of kinship or of covenant! It is they who have transgressed all bounds. |

তোমরা আল্লাহর অঙ্গীকারের বিনিময়ে সামান্য মূল্য গ্রহণ করো না। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহর কাছে যা আছে, তা উত্তম তোমাদের জন্যে, যদি তোমরা জ্ঞানী হও।
Nor sell the covenant of Allah for a miserable price: for with Allah is (a prize) far better for you, if ye only knew. |
