| 1 | আল্লাহর নিকট মানুষের মর্যাদা বিভিন্ন স্তরের আর আল্লাহ দেখেন যা কিছু তারা করে। They are in varying gardens in the sight of Allah, and Allah sees well all that they do. |

| 2 | নিঃসন্দেহে মুনাফেকরা রয়েছে দোযখের সর্বনিম্ন স্তরে। আর তোমরা তাদের জন্য কোন সাহায্যকারী কখনও পাবে না। The Hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire: no helper wilt thou find for them;- |

| 3 | অতঃপর আমি তাকে ও তাঁর পরিবার পরিজনকে বাঁচিয়ে দিলাম, কিন্তু তার স্ত্রী। সে তাদের মধ্যেই রয়ে গেল, যারা রয়ে গিয়েছিল। আমি তাদের উপর প্রস্তর বৃষ্টি বর্ষণ করলাম। But we saved him and his family, except his wife: she was of those who legged behind. |

| 4 | তাছাড়া তারা যখন বলতে আরম্ভ করে যে, ইয়া আল্লাহ, এই যদি তোমার পক্ষ থেকে (আগত) সত্য দ্বীন হয়ে থাকে, তবে আমাদের উপর আকাশ থেকে প্রস্তর বর্ষণ কর কিংবা আমাদের উপর বেদনাদায়ক আযাব নাযিল কর। Remember how they said: "O Allah if this is indeed the Truth from Thee, rain down on us a shower of stones form the sky, or send us a grievous penalty." |

| 5 | অবশ্য তারা যদি তওবা করে, নামায কায়েম করে আর যাকাত আদায় করে, তবে তারা তোমাদের দ্বীনী ভাই। আর আমি বিধানসমূহে জ্ঞানী লোকদের জন্যে সর্বস্তরে র্বণনা করে থাকি। But (even so), if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity,- they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand. |

| 6 | আর তারা অল্প-বিস্তর যা কিছু ব্যয় করে, যত প্রান্তর তারা অতিক্রম করে, তা সবই তাদের নামে লেখা হয়, যেন আল্লাহ তাদের কৃতকর্মসমূহের উত্তম বিনিময় প্রদান করেন। Nor could they spend anything (for the cause) - small or great- nor cut across a valley, but the deed is inscribed to their credit: that Allah may requite their deed with the best (possible reward). |

| 7 | অবশেষে যখন আমার হুকুম এসে পৌঁছাল, তখন আমি উক্ত জনপদকে উপরকে নীচে করে দিলাম এবং তার উপর স্তরে স্তরে কাঁকর পাথর বর্ষণ করলাম। When Our Decree issued, We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread, layer on layer,- |

| 8 | তারা বলল-হে শোয়ায়েব (আঃ) আপনি যা বলেছেন তার অনেক কথাই আমরা বুঝি নাই, আমারা তো আপনাকে আমাদের মধ্যে দূর্বল ব্যক্তি রূপে মনে করি। আপনার ভাই বন্ধুরা না থাকলে আমরা আপনাকে প্রস্তরাঘাতে হত্যা করতাম। আমাদের দৃষ্টিতে আপনি কোন মর্যাদাবান ব্যক্তি নন। They said: "O Shu'aib! much of what thou sayest we do not understand! In fact among us we see that thou hast no strength! Were it not for thy family, we should certainly have stoned thee! for thou hast among us no great position!" |

| 9 | তোমরা কি এ বিষয়ে নিশ্চিন্ত রয়েছ যে, তিনি তোমাদেরকে স্থলভাগে কোথাও ভূগর্ভস্থ করবেন না। অথবা তোমাদের উপর প্রস্তর বর্ষণকারী ঘুর্ণিঝড় প্রেরণ করবেন না, তখন তোমরা নিজেদের জন্যে কোন কর্মবিধায়ক পাবে না। Do ye then feel secure that He will not cause you to be swallowed up beneath the earth when ye are on land, or that He will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones) so that ye shall find no one to carry out your affairs for you? |

| 10 | সে বললঃ আপনি কি লক্ষ্য করেছেন, আমরা যখন প্রস্তর খন্ডে আশ্রয় নিয়েছিলাম, তখন আমি মাছের কথা ভুলে গিয়েছিলাম। শয়তানই আমাকে একথা স্মরণ রাখতে ভুলিয়ে দিয়েছিল। মাছটি আশ্চর্য জনক ভাবে সমুদ্রে নিজের পথ করে নিয়েছে। He replied: "Sawest thou (what happened) when we betook ourselves to the rock? I did indeed forget (about) the Fish: none but Satan made me forget to tell (you) about it: it took its course through the sea in a marvellous way!" |

| 11 | পিতা বললঃ যে ইব্রাহীম, তুমি কি আমার উপাস্যদের থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিচ্ছ? যদি তুমি বিরত না হও, আমি অবশ্যই প্রস্তরাঘাতে তোমার প্রাণনাশ করব। তুমি চিরতরে আমার কাছ থেকে দূর হয়ে যাও। (The father) replied: "Dost thou hate my gods, O Abraham? If thou forbear not, I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!" |

| 12 | তুমি কি দেখ না যে, আল্লাহ মেঘমালাকে সঞ্চালিত করেন, অতঃপর তাকে পুঞ্জীভূত করেন, অতঃপর তাকে স্তরে স্তরে রাখেন; অতঃপর তুমি দেখ যে, তার মধ্য থেকে বারিধারা নির্গত হয়। তিনি আকাশস্থিত শিলাস্তুপ থেকে শিলাবর্ষণ করেন এবং তা দ্বারা যাকে ইচ্ছা আঘাত করেন এবং যার কাছ থেকে ইচ্ছা, তা অন্যদিকে ফিরিয়ে দেন। তার বিদ্যুৎঝলক দৃষ্টিশক্তি যেন বিলীন করে দিতে চায়। Seest thou not that Allah makes the clouds move gently, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap? - then wilt thou see rain issue forth from their midst. And He sends down from the sky mountain masses (of clouds) wherein is hail: He strikes therewith whom He pleases and He turns it away from whom He pleases, the vivid flash of His lightning well-nigh blinds the sight. |

| 13 | তারা বলল, হে নূহ যদি তুমি বিরত না হও, তবে তুমি নিশ্চিতই প্রস্তরাঘাতে নিহত হবে। They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)." |
(আশ-শো'আরা: আয়াতঃ ১১৬) |
| 14 | আমি প্রত্যেককেই তার অপরাধের কারণে পাকড়াও করেছি। তাদের কারও প্রতি প্রেরণ করেছি প্রস্তরসহ প্রচন্ড বাতাস, কাউকে পেয়েছে বজ্রপাত, কাউকে আমি বিলীন করেছি ভূগর্ভে এবং কাউকে করেছি নিমজ্জত। আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি যুলুম করার ছিলেন না; কিন্তু তারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের প্রতি যুলুম করেছে। Each one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): It was not Allah Who injured (or oppressed) them:" They injured (and oppressed) their own souls. |

| 15 | তিনি আল্লাহ, যিনি বায়ু প্রেরণ করেন, অতঃপর তা মেঘমালাকে সঞ্চারিত করে। অতঃপর তিনি মেঘমালাকে যেভাবে ইচ্ছা আকাশে ছড়িয়ে দেন এবং তাকে স্তরে স্তরে রাখেন। এরপর তুমি দেখতে পাও তার মধ্য থেকে নির্গত হয় বৃষ্টিধারা। তিনি তাঁর বান্দাদের মধ্যে যাদেরকে ইচ্ছা পৌঁছান; তখন তারা আনন্দিত হয়। It is Allah Who sends the Winds, and they raise the Clouds: then does He spread them in the sky as He wills, and break them into fragments, until thou seest rain-drops issue from the midst thereof: then when He has made them reach such of his servants as He wills behold, they do rejoice!- |

| 16 | হে বৎস, কোন বস্তু যদি সরিষার দানা পরিমাণও হয় অতঃপর তা যদি থাকে প্রস্তর গর্ভে অথবা আকাশে অথবা ভূ-গর্ভে, তবে আল্লাহ তাও উপস্থিত করবেন। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ গোপন ভেদ জানেন, সবকিছুর খবর রাখেন। "O my son!" (said Luqman), "If there be (but) the weight of a mustard-seed and it were (hidden) in a rock, or (anywhere) in the heavens or on earth, Allah will bring it forth: for Allah understands the finest mysteries, (and) is well-acquainted (with them). |
(লোকমান: আয়াতঃ ১৬) |
| 17 | তারা বলল, আমরা তোমাদেরকে অশুভ-অকল্যাণকর দেখছি। যদি তোমরা বিরত না হও, তবে অবশ্যই তোমাদেরকে প্রস্তর বর্ষণে হত্যা করব এবং আমাদের পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদেরকে যন্ত্রনাদায়ক শাস্তি স্পর্শ করবে। The (people) said: "for us, we augur an evil omen from you: if ye desist not, we will certainly stone you. And a grievous punishment indeed will be inflicted on you by us." |

| 18 | তোমরা যাতে আমাকে প্রস্তরবর্ষণে হত্যা না কর, তজ্জন্যে আমি আমার পালনকর্তা ও তোমাদের পালনকর্তার শরনাপন্ন হয়েছি। "For me, I have sought safety with my Lord and your Lord, against your injuring me. |
(আদ দোখান: আয়াতঃ ২০) |
| 19 | প্রত্যেকের জন্যে তাদের কৃতকর্ম অনুযায়ী বিভিন্ন স্তর রয়েছে, যাতে আল্লাহ তাদের কর্মের পূর্ণ প্রতিফল দেন। বস্তুতঃ তাদের প্রতি যুলুম করা হবে না। And to all are (assigned) degrees according to the deeds which they (have done), and in order that (Allah) may recompense their deeds, and no injustice be done to them. |
(আল আহক্বাফ: আয়াতঃ ১৯) |
| 20 | আমি তাদের প্রতি প্রেরণ করেছিলাম প্রস্তর বর্ষণকারী প্রচন্ড ঘূর্ণিবায়ু; কিন্তু লূত পরিবারের উপর নয়। আমি তাদেরকে রাতের শেষপ্রহরে উদ্ধার করেছিলাম। We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- |

| 21 | তারা তথায় রেশমের আস্তরবিশিষ্ট বিছানায় হেলান দিয়ে বসবে। উভয় উদ্যানের ফল তাদের নিকট ঝুলবে। They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach). |

| 22 | মুমিনগণ, তোমরা নিজেদেরকে এবং তোমাদের পরিবার-পরিজনকে সেই অগ্নি থেকে রক্ষা কর, যার ইন্ধন হবে মানুষ ও প্রস্তর, যাতে নিয়োজিত আছে পাষাণ হৃদয়, কঠোরস্বভাব ফেরেশতাগণ। তারা আল্লাহ তা’আলা যা আদেশ করেন, তা অমান্য করে না এবং যা করতে আদেশ করা হয়, তাই করে। O ye who believe! save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who flinch not (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do (precisely) what they are commanded. |

| 23 | তিনি সপ্ত আকাশ স্তরে স্তরে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। তুমি করুণাময় আল্লাহ তা’আলার সৃষ্টিতে কোন তফাত দেখতে পাবে না। আবার দৃষ্টিফেরাও; কোন ফাটল দেখতে পাও কি? He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? |
(আল মুলক: আয়াতঃ ৩) |
| 24 | না তোমরা নিশ্চিন্ত হয়ে গেছ যে, আকাশে যিনি আছেন, তিনি তোমাদের উপর প্রস্তর বৃষ্টি বর্ষণ করবেন, অতঃপর তোমরা জানতে পারবে কেমন ছিল আমার সতর্কবাণী। Or do ye feel secure that He Who is in Heaven will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones), so that ye shall know how (terrible) was My warning? |

| 25 | তোমরা কি লক্ষ্য কর না যে, আল্লাহ কিভাবে সপ্ত আকাশ স্তরে স্তরে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, |
(নূহ: আয়াতঃ ১৫) |
| 26 | অতঃপর সেখানে বিস্তর অশান্তি সৃষ্টি করেছিল। And heaped therein mischief (on mischief). |
