| 1 | তুমি কি লক্ষ্য কর না, আল্লাহ তা’আলা কেমন উপমা বর্ণনা করেছেনঃ পবিত্র বাক্য হলো পবিত্র বৃক্ষের মত। তার শিকড় মজবুত এবং শাখা আকাশে উত্থিত। Seest thou not how Allah sets forth a parable? - A goodly word like a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the heavens,- of its Lord. So Allah sets forth parables for men, in order that they may receive admonition. |

| 2 | চন্দ্রের জন্যে আমি বিভিন্ন মনযিল নির্ধারিত করেছি। অবশেষে সে পুরাতন খর্জুর শাখার অনুরূপ হয়ে যায়। And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. |

| 3 | আমি তাদের প্রতি একটিমাত্র নিনাদ প্রেরণ করেছিলাম। এতেই তারা হয়ে গেল শুষ্ক শাখাপল্লব নির্মিত দলিত খোয়াড়ের ন্যায়। For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. |
