| 1 | আর সবার জন্যই রয়েছে কেবলা একেক দিকে, যে দিকে সে মুখ করে (এবাদত করবে)। কাজেই সৎকাজে প্রতিযোগিতামূলকভাবে এগিয়ে যাও। যেখানেই তোমরা থাকবে, আল্লাহ অবশ্যই তোমাদেরকে সমবেত করবেন। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ সর্ব বিষয়ে ক্ষমতাশীল। To each is a goal to which Allah turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good. Wheresoever ye are, Allah will bring you Together. For Allah Hath power over all things. |

| 2 | এ হলো গায়েবী সংবাদ, যা আমি আপনাকে পাঠিয়ে থাকি। আর আপনি তো তাদের কাছে ছিলেন না, যখন প্রতিযোগিতা করছিল যে, কে প্রতিপালন করবে মারইয়ামকে এবং আপনি তাদের কাছে ছিলেন না, যখন তারা ঝগড়া করছিলো। This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point). |

| 3 | তারা বললঃ পিতাঃ আমরা দৌড় প্রতিযোগিতা করতে গিয়েছিলাম এবং ইউসুফকে আসবাব-পত্রের কাছে রেখে গিয়েছিলাম। অতঃপর তাকে বাঘে খেয়ে ফেলেছে। আপনি তো আমাদেরকে বিশ্বাস করবেন না, যদিও আমরা সত্যবাদী। They said: "O our father! We went racing with one another, and left Joseph with our things; and the wolf devoured him.... But thou wilt never believe us even though we tell the truth." |
