| 1 | তোমার নিকট তারা জিজ্ঞেস করে নতুন চাঁদের বিষয়ে। বলে দাও যে এটি মানুষের জন্য সময় নির্ধারণ এবং হজ্বের সময় ঠিক করার মাধ্যম। আর পেছনের দিক দিয়ে ঘরে প্রবেশ করার মধ্যে কোন নেকী বা কল্যাণ নেই। অবশ্য নেকী হল আল্লাহকে ভয় করার মধ্যে। আর তোমরা ঘরে প্রবেশ কর দরজা দিয়ে এবং আল্লাহকে ভয় করতে থাক যাতে তোমরা নিজেদের বাসনায় কৃতকার্য হতে পার। They ask thee concerning the New Moons. Say: They are but signs to mark fixed periods of time in (the affairs of) men, and for Pilgrimage. It is no virtue if ye enter your houses from the back: It is virtue if ye fear Allah. Enter houses through the proper doors: And fear Allah: That ye may prosper. |

| 3 | আর যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয়, তোমরা সামনের আযাব ও পেছনের আযাবকে ভয় কর, যাতে তোমাদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করা হয়, তখন তারা তা অগ্রাহ্য করে। When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). |
