| 2 | তারা বললঃ পিতাঃ আমরা দৌড় প্রতিযোগিতা করতে গিয়েছিলাম এবং ইউসুফকে আসবাব-পত্রের কাছে রেখে গিয়েছিলাম। অতঃপর তাকে বাঘে খেয়ে ফেলেছে। আপনি তো আমাদেরকে বিশ্বাস করবেন না, যদিও আমরা সত্যবাদী। They said: "O our father! We went racing with one another, and left Joseph with our things; and the wolf devoured him.... But thou wilt never believe us even though we tell the truth." |

| 3 | বালিকাদ্বয়ের একজন বলল পিতাঃ তাকে চাকর নিযুক্ত করুন। কেননা, আপনার চাকর হিসেবে সে-ই উত্তম হবে, যে শক্তিশালী ও বিশ্বস্ত। Said one of the (damsels): "O my (dear) father! engage him on wages: truly the best of men for thee to employ is the (man) who is strong and trusty".... |

| 4 | অতঃপর সে যখন পিতার সাথে চলাফেরা করার বয়সে উপনীত হল, তখন ইব্রাহীম তাকে বললঃ বৎস! আমি স্বপ্নে দেখিযে, তোমাকে যবেহ করছি; এখন তোমার অভিমত কি দেখ। সে বললঃ পিতাঃ! আপনাকে যা আদেশ করা হয়েছে, তাই করুন। আল্লাহ চাহে তো আপনি আমাকে সবরকারী পাবেন। Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" |
