| 1 | সত্যের আহবান একমাত্র তাঁরই এবং তাকে ছাড়া যাদেরকে ডাকে, তারা তাদের কোন কাজে আসে না; ওদের দৃষ্টান্ত সেরূপ, যেমন কেউ দু’ হাত পানির দিকে প্রসারিত করে যাতে পানি তার মুখে পৌঁছে যায়। অথচ পানি কোন সময় পৌঁছাবে না। কাফেরদের যত আহবান তার সবই পথভ্রষ্টতা। For Him (alone) is prayer in Truth: any others that they call upon besides Him hear them no more than if they were to stretch forth their hands for water to reach their mouths but it reaches them not: for the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile) wandering (in the mind). |

| 2 | যারা স্বীয় পালনকর্তার সত্তার অবিশ্বাসী তাদের অবস্থা এই যে, তাদের কর্মসমূহ ছাইভস্মের মত যার উপর দিয়ে প্রবল বাতাস বয়ে যায় ধূলিঝড়ের দিন। তাদের উপার্জনের কোন অংশই তাদের করতলগত হবে না। এটাই দুরবর্তী পথভ্রষ্টতা। The parable of those who reject their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a tempestuous day: No power have they over aught that they have earned: that is the straying far, far (from the goal). |

| 3 | সে আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে এমন কিছুকে ডাকে, যে তার অপকার করতে পারে না এবং উপকারও করতে পারে না। এটাই চরম পথভ্রষ্টতা। They call on such deities, besides Allah, as can neither hurt nor profit them: that is straying far indeed (from the Way)! |
