| 1 | আর তাদের কাছ থেকে প্রতিশ্রুতি নেবার উদ্দেশ্যে আমি তাদের উপর তূর পর্বতকে তুলে ধরেছিলাম এবং তাদেরকে বলেছিলাম, অবনত মস্তকে দরজায় ঢোক। আর বলেছিলাম, শনিবার দিন সীমালংঘন করো না। এভাবে তাদের কাছ থেকে দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকার নিয়েছিলাম। And for their covenant we raised over them (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai); and (on another occasion) we said: "Enter the gate with humility"; and (once again) we commanded them: "Transgress not in the matter of the sabbath." And we took from them a solemn covenant. |

| 2 | যারা বলেঃ আমরা নাছারা, আমি তাদের কাছ থেকেও তাদের অঙ্গীকার নিয়েছিলাম। অতঃপর তারাও যে উপদেশ প্রাপ্ত হয়েছিল, তা থেকে উপকার লাভ করা ভুলে গেল। অতঃপর আমি কেয়ামত পর্যন্ত তাদের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক শত্রুতা ও বিদ্বেষ সঞ্চারিত করে দিয়েছি। অবশেষে আল্লাহ তাদেরকে তাদের কৃতকর্ম সম্পর্কে অবহিত করবেন। From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done. |
