| 1 | আর বানিয়ে নিল মূসার সম্প্রদায় তার অনুপস্থিতিতে নিজেদের অলংকারাদির দ্বারা একটি বাছুর তা থেকে বেরুচ্ছিল ‘হাম্বা হাম্বা’ শব্দ। তারা কি একথাও লক্ষ্য করল না যে, সেটি তাদের সাথে কথাও বলছে না এবং তাদেরকে কোন পথও বাতলে দিচ্ছে না! তারা সেটিকে উপাস্য বানিয়ে নিল। বস্তুতঃ তারা ছিল জালেম। The people of Moses made, in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of calf, (for worship): it seemed to low: did they not see that it could neither speak to them, nor show them the way? They took it for worship and they did wrong. |

| 2 | এই কিতাবে মারইয়ামের কথা বর্ণনা করুন, যখন সে তার পরিবারের লোকজন থেকে পৃথক হয়ে পূর্বদিকে এক স্থানে আশ্রয় নিল। Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East. |

| 3 | অতঃপর সে তার সম্প্রদায়কে বোকা বানিয়ে দিল, ফলে তারা তার কথা মেনে নিল। নিশ্চয় তারা ছিল পাপাচারী সম্প্রদায়। Thus did he make fools of his people, and they obeyed him: truly were they a people rebellious (against Allah). |

| 4 | এটা এ কারণে যে, তাদের কাছে তাদের রসূলগণ প্রকাশ্য নিদর্শনাবলীসহ আগমন করলে তারা বলতঃ মানুষই কি আমাদেরকে পথপ্রদর্শন করবে? অতঃপর তারা কাফের হয়ে গেল এবং মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিল। এতে আল্লাহর কিছু আসে যায় না। আল্লাহ অমুখাপেক্ষী প্রশংসিত। That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Signs, but they said: "Shall (mere) human beings direct us?" So they rejected (the Message) and turned away. But Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free of all needs, worthy of all praise. |
