| 1 | তাঁর সাথে কারাগারে দুজন যুবক প্রবেশ করল। তাদের একজন বললঃ আমি স্বপ্নে দেখলাম যে, আমি মদ নিঙড়াচ্ছি। অপরজন বললঃ আমি দেখলাম যে, নিজ মাথায় রুটি বহন করছি। তা থেকে পাখী ঠুকরিয়ে খাচ্ছে। আমাদের কে এর ব্যাখ্যা বলুন। আমরা আপনাকে সৎকর্মশীল দেখতে পাচ্ছি। Now with him there came into the prison two young men. Said one of them: "I see myself (in a dream) pressing wine." said the other: "I see myself (in a dream) carrying bread on my head, and birds are eating, thereof." "Tell us" (they said) "The truth and meaning thereof: for we see thou art one that doth good (to all)." |

| 2 | বাদশাহ বললঃ আমি স্বপ্নে দেখলাম, সাতটি মোটাতাজা গাভী-এদেরকে সাতটি শীর্ণ গাভী খেয়ে যাচ্ছে এবং সাতটি সবুজ শীষ ও অন্যগুলো শুষ্ক। হে পরিষদবর্গ! তোমরা আমাকে আমার স্বপ্নের ব্যাখ্যা বল, যদি তোমরা স্বপ্নের ব্যাখ্যায় পারদর্শী হয়ে থাক। The king (of Egypt) said: "I do see (in a vision) seven fat kine, whom seven lean ones devour, and seven green ears of corn, and seven (others) withered. O ye chiefs! Expound to me my vision if it be that ye can interpret visions." |

| 3 | সে বললঃ আমি দেখলাম যা অন্যেরা দেখেনি। অতঃপর আমি সেই প্রেরিত ব্যক্তির পদচিহেߦ#2480; নীচ থেকে এক মুঠি মাটি নিয়ে নিলাম। অতঃপর আমি তা নিক্ষেপ করলাম। আমাকে আমার মন এই মন্ত্রণাই দিল। He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me." |

| 4 | আমি তাকে ও তার সম্প্রদায়কে দেখলাম তারা আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে সূর্যকে সেজদা করছে। শয়তান তাদের দৃষ্টিতে তাদের কার্যাবলী সুশোভিত করে দিয়েছে। অতঃপর তাদেরকে সৎপথ থেকে নিবৃত্ত করেছে। অতএব তারা সৎপথ পায় না। "I found her and her people worshipping the sun besides Allah: Satan has made their deeds seem pleasing in their eyes, and has kept them away from the Path,- so they receive no guidance,- |

| 5 | যদি আপনি দেখতেন যখন অপরাধীরা তাদের পালনকর্তার সামনে নতশির হয়ে বলবে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, আমরা দেখলাম ও শ্রবণ করলাম। এখন আমাদেরকে পাঠিয়ে দিন, আমরা সৎকর্ম করব। আমরা দৃঢ়বিশ্বাসী হয়ে গেছি। If only thou couldst see when the guilty ones will bend low their heads before their Lord, (saying:) "Our Lord! We have seen and we have heard: Now then send us back (to the world): we will work righteousness: for we do indeed (now) believe." |
