| 1 | অতঃপর এ ঘটনার পরে তোমাদের অন্তর কঠিন হয়ে গেছে। তা পাথরের মত অথবা তদপেক্ষাও কঠিন। পাথরের মধ্যে এমন ও আছে; যা থেকে ঝরণা প্রবাহিত হয়, এমনও আছে, যা বিদীর্ণ হয়, অতঃপর তা থেকে পানি নির্গত হয় এবং এমনও আছে, যা আল্লাহর ভয়ে খসেপড়তে থাকে! আল্লাহ তোমাদের কাজকর্ম সম্পর্কে বে-খবর নন। Thenceforth were your hearts hardened: They became like a rock and even worse in hardness. For among rocks there are some from which rivers gush forth; others there are which when split asunder send forth water; and others which sink for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unmindful of what ye do. |

| 2 | যদি তুমি উচ্চকন্ঠেও কথা বল, তিনি তো গুপ্ত ও তদপেক্ষাও গুপ্ত বিষয়বস্তু জানেন। If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. |
