| 1 | আর তাদের উদাহরণ সেসব লোকের মত যারা দুর্যোগপূর্ণ ঝড়ো রাতে পথ চলে, যাতে থাকে আঁধার, গর্জন ও বিদ্যুৎচমক। মৃত্যুর ভয়ে গর্জনের সময় কানে আঙ্গুল দিয়ে রক্ষা পেতে চায়। অথচ সমস্ত কাফেরই আল্লাহ কর্তৃক পরিবেষ্ঠিত। Or (another similitude) is that of a rain-laden cloud from the sky: In it are zones of darkness, and thunder and lightning: They press their fingers in their ears to keep out the stunning thunder-clap, the while they are in terror of death. But Allah is ever round the rejecters of Faith! |

| 2 | আর বিস্মিত হয়ো না তাদের ধন সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্তুতির দরুন। আল্লাহ তো এই চান যে, এ সবের কারণে তাদেরকে আযাবের ভেতরে রাখবেন দুনিয়ায় এবং তাদের প্রাণ নির্গত হওয়া পর্যন্ত যেন তারা কাফেরই থাকে। Nor let their wealth nor their (following in) sons dazzle thee: Allah's plan is to punish them with these things in this world, and that their souls may perish in their (very) denial of Allah. |
