| 1 | আর মানুষের মধ্যে কিছু লোক এমন রয়েছে যারা বলে, আমরা আল্লাহ ও পরকালের প্রতি ঈমান এনেছি অথচ আদৌ তারা ঈমানদার নয়। Of the people there are some who say: "We believe in Allah and the Last Day;" but they do not (really) believe. |

| 2 | আর তাদের মধ্যে একদল রয়েছে, যারা বিকৃত উচ্চারণে মুখ বাঁকিয়ে কিতাব পাঠ করে, যাতে তোমরা মনে কর যে, তার কিতাব থেকেই পাঠ করছে। অথচ তারা যা আবৃত্তি করছে তা আদৌ কিতাব নয়। এবং তারা বলে যে, এসব কথা আল্লাহর তরফ থেকে আগত। অথচ এসব আল্লাহর তরফ থেকে প্রেরিত নয়। তারা বলে যে, এটি আল্লাহর কথা অথচ এসব আল্লাহর কথা নয়। আর তারা জেনে শুনে আল্লাহরই প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করে। There is among them a section who distort the Book with their tongues: (As they read) you would think it is a part of the Book, but it is no part of the Book; and they say, "That is from Allah," but it is not from Allah: It is they who tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it! |
